Just that really. Interested in seeing, from the cohort who responds, which of us have actually contracted Covid, at this stage

OP posts:
Lindy2 · 29/11/2021 18:42

Yes. Back in January. I don't want it again.

Picklesbaby · 29/11/2021 18:42

Got it now

littlepeas · 29/11/2021 18:43

I also feel relieved to have had it and got it out the way. I’m not vulnerable, but do have a condition that causes fatigue, so was a bit nervous about long covid. As it happens I’d never have even known I’d had it if ds hadn’t looked a bit grey one day over half term! Realise I have been very lucky - many people my age (late 30’s double Pfizer) have been much more unwell. I do wonder if there is a genetic component to how you respond - gene sharers in our small sample were minimally affected, including my mum in her 70’s - the only one outside the gene pool was the only one who was a bit rough with it...

kalidasa · 29/11/2021 18:44

Yes, quite badly (ambulance to hosp at worst point) but right at the beginning. Pretty sure DCs had it too at the same time but with very mild symptoms and an odd rash, which at the time wasn't flagged as a Covid symptom in children. DH has either never had it or (more likely) was asymptomatic.

BernardsarenotalwaysSaints · 29/11/2021 18:45

Nope. Nor have Dh, dc2(10), dc3(8), dc4(6) or dc5(4). Both adults double jabbed.

Dc1(11) has, very achy, headache, tiredness. She didn't isolate from us & I didn't do anything that I wouldn't have done wrt ventilation etc.

It does however mean I'm back to waiting for the next one to come down with it as the primary school the 4 younger children attend has a minimum of 5 cases in each class.

JellyNo15 · 29/11/2021 18:46

Last Christmas. Seems I caught it off my elderly DDad after rushing to help him after a fall. We lost him Boxing day after he was alone in hospital for eleven days. My mother and I were positive and unable to visit. My mother was so unwell too, I can't belie she survived it.

Notashandyta · 29/11/2021 18:47

Not that we know of. But we homeschool.

Every family we know with school age children have had it

BiBabbles · 29/11/2021 18:47

Not to my knowledge. I was part of a study that did antibody tests back in March or April and mine came back negative.

My spouse and DD1 tested positive in July not long after DS1 had been very poorly, but DS1 never tested positive, nor did anyone else in our home. If the antibody testing chance comes up again, I'd be curious for how my family would look now.

cptartapp · 29/11/2021 18:47

I tested positive for antibodies in June 2020 through work. No idea when I had it though. Never unwell.
DH, DS1 and DS2 had it in June this year. So presumably didn't catch it off me the previous year?

WeirGirl · 29/11/2021 18:47

Yes. Day 9 and still doing positive LFDs and feeling rough. Triple vaxxed.

The school I work at is closed for 10 days as so many cases - staff and children.

One of my colleagues died with Covid yesterday.

Unbelievably heartbreaking.

veryouting2021 · 29/11/2021 18:48

Across 21 of us (parents and children and grandchildren on all sides), my nephew had it and his dad caught it from him. Everyone else clear.

QueefofSheena · 29/11/2021 18:48

Yes, at half term in Oct. DS15 caught it at school and brought it home. DH and I had a couple of neg LFTs after our PCRs were taken, but before we had results. I have zero faith in LFT now.

pourmeanotherglass · 29/11/2021 18:49

Not knowingly, and I lateral flow test twice a week. I'm amazed I haven't had it as I work in a hospital ( not patient facing) and have kids at a large (700 student) sixth form.

TDogsInHats · 29/11/2021 18:51

Yes 4 out of 5 of us, all our neighbours in the house next door.
Out of isolation last Friday, a bit unwell for a few days but loss of taste and smell for just over a week is awfulSad

notangelinajolie · 29/11/2021 18:53

I've a fever and aches and pains a couple of times in early 2020 but both times were pre testing. Had 2 very faded LFTs a few weeks back but PCR came back negative.

So no, I have no clue if I've had it or not.

I would imagine though that if I had had it - I would know about it.

Non of my family or friends have had it either. Even my DD who is a teacher and is testing almost daily hasn't had it.

SisterBeaverhausen · 29/11/2021 18:54

Yes last month. Felt horrendous. Still struggling with breathing.

DeathMetalMum · 29/11/2021 18:55

Not that I'm aware of. Several of us in work were extremely ill Jan/Feb 2020 which we suspect was covid.

The first person in our household tested positive last week, down as a close contact. Dd1 is currently completely asymptomatic.

astoundedgoat · 29/11/2021 18:55

Yes. We all had it in July.

crackofdoom · 29/11/2021 18:57

I’ve got it now, and feeling fairly rough, which is a blow to my pride, as I like to see myself as the super healthy type who rarely comes down with bugs ( and also vaccinated). I have a friend who has an auto immune condition, and has been terrified of catching Covid, as she thought she would get it badly. We caught it on the same night out (first gig in an inside venue for both of us!) that I persuaded her to go to- and she’s cruising through it, with nothing more than cold like symptoms!

ginswinger · 29/11/2021 18:58

Yes, I have it now. Double jabbed so it's been relatively mild but I have had a few scary moments when my temerature starting rising.

tedsletterofthelaw · 29/11/2021 18:59

Yes, in January

FlickerBeat · 29/11/2021 18:59

DP and I reckon we did back in late January 2020

I also think I may have had it back in Jan 2020.

I remember thinking it was the worst cold I had ever had. Fever, awful cough, aching joints, etc.

Got it now.

Felt a bit meh last Tuesday evening. Woke up on Wednesday feeling like I was started a head cold, but gone by mid morning. Thursday no taste/smell and got first positive LFT but I’ve felt 100% ever since.
Just keeping my fingers crossed it doesn’t turn nasty on me after a week of very mild symptoms.

Btw, is there any point in repeating an LFT? Isn’t it just a case of staying put until your isolation is over?

Merlotthegreat · 29/11/2021 19:01

Yes, in July, only 2 months after my second vaccination.

My dh got it in September, also only 2 months after his second vacs.

Dd11 got it in July too, but DD13 has managed to avoid it.
