Will the Government actually follow through on their threat to sack NHS staff?

I work in a very large city hospital, we are also a specialist trauma centre with Helipad access (just to give you an idea of how large a hospital it is).

I found out yesterday that almost 13% of the medical staff are unvaccinated.

Surely that number of staff can’t just be fired? How do they expect a hospital to function with such a mass exodus whilst already dealing with staff shortages in nearly every department.

It’s very worrying.

All of them! Vaccines are "experimental RNA therapy", they don't stop transmission, they cause unprecented side effects etc etc

Of course I don’t agree that vaccines are experimental and I don’t agree that they cause unprecedented side effects.

But it’s well reported that the vaccines don’t stop transmission. They reduce the likelihood of transmission but they don’t stop it completely. And this is why I think some people aren’t having them.

But like I have said - I trust the vaccines and their safety. I have never claimed otherwise.

This will absolutely not go ahead

Our trust and most others can not afford to lose any front line staff.

The emails and threats are making no impact at all people have made up their mind. A few may change their mind but I know a number won’t in our team they without them we are totally screwed morale is low enough as it is.

They worked above and beyond their roles in the last 18 months

Now people not being able to travel go to restaurants/bars/cinema etc does I believe work better

@DontWantTheRivalry

Well my trust has sent out communication to advise all unvaccinated staff that want to stay in a clinical role that they need to have had first jab by 3/2/22...

So are the staff who don’t have the first vaccine by that date then not allowed back into work in their normal clinical role? Or are they assuming those who will not get vaccinated will continue to work until April and then just leave?

They can all remain in post until the government cut off date in in April. Yes think the assumptions will be that any staff who have not had first jab by Feb will leave by the April. As I have said previously out of a wider team of around 60 people only one is unvaccinated....however intends to have her immunisations after Christmas.... in another team there is a band 5 nurse who intends to retire and apply to return as a band 2 clerk ( she’s 56 so would have likely been intending to retire and return anyway....albeit as a nurse ).

How big is your team? And how many are unvaccinated? What are their plans? Just interested as it’s completely different attitude in my community team

@gofg

Funny you should bring that up because both my parents suffered blood clots following the vaccine shots and I know of one person who died two days after his first jab of arterial thrombosis.

Gosh aren't you unlucky! I have heard tales of people who supposedly became ill or died after vaccines, these tales were always told by anti-vaxxers, and they were all proven to be a crock of shit.

I'm not anti vaccine at all (I have had three and will be having a booster) but I do know one person who died following the vaccine (it was well publicised) however she wasn't in the U.K.
