Days after Austria imposed a lockdown on the unvaccinated, it has announced a full national Covid-19 lockdown starting on Monday.

Chancellor Alexander Schallenberg said it would last at least 10 days and there would be a legal requirement to get vaccinated from 1 February 2022.

Jesus. I'm shocked by that. I'm not an antivaxxer but I still very concerned that a country could make any vaccine a legal requirement! I feel it's a step too far.

Covid hysteria will never stop. The government spent millions on a 2 year terror campaign that was put together with the help of psychologists and it’s been very successful. You can read about it on gov.uk. You can also read the open letter put together by leading psychologists who raised alarms about the ethics and legalities of doing this.

Concerns have been raised all along about every aspect of this, from the reliability of these tests to the ridiculous idea of dying of covid within 30 days of a positive test. Those concerns were not raised by conspiracy theorists but professionals and experts. Anyone raising concerns was quickly censored and mocked.

There is damming evidence that many people were reported as having died of covid when they did not. There is damming evidence that people with disabilities were denied basic care and died unnecessarily. Yet still the covid hysteria continues. We are seeing it here on this thread with people eagerly supporting the imprisonment of people who decline the vaccine despite the fact it has a 99 per cent recovery rate and is a mild illness to most. So mild in fact many people don’t know they have it.

The government realised something in their campaign. And that is that if you give people an opportunity to be nasty many will eagerly embrace it. I’ve been shocked and disgusted at the snitching on neighbours, the shaming of people buying non essential items, the cutting off friends who have a different opinion. How some people have loved being able to abuse others under the guise of covid.

How some people did not realise something was terribly wrong I do not know. Instead they clapped the grinning nurses who were denying our relatives basic care and were so overwhelmed they were able to choreograph various dance routines.

Can we stop with the Hitler comparisons given that he would've been the first to prevent certain groups getting access to a vaccine that would offer protection during a pandemic.

As @JassyRadlett pointed out, such groups were denied vaccination during Nazi Germany.

It's such a bizzare and lazy comparison to make.

The same thing this woman talks about has been happening all over the world, yet if there is a death or injury soon after vaccination it's a coincidence. I completely belive Covid is real but I do think the numbers have been heavily skewed & we will probably never be told the truth about adverse reactions to the jab.

The "imprisonment" mentioned in the article about Austria which has been quoted several times has been inadequately translated. It is an "Ersatzfreiheitstrafe" and it means doing some time in jail instead of paying a fine. So if someone was fined 1000 Euros for not getting vaccinated, for example, (and 1000 Euros randomly plucked out of the air to aid the example), if they were unable to pay that they would go to jail for a certain number of hours. There is a complicated system of the number of hours you need to do based on the fine and on other factors - I don't know the details.
If you had the 1000 Euros to pay but didn't want to you could opt to do the jail time instead. It is not a prison sentence and it is not issued by a court. It is an administrative matter.

I'm in Austria and I'm fully vaccinated and I am very very concerned about how this is going. Our government have been becoming increasingly authoritarian as time has gone on during the pandemic and it actually scares me.

As I said, Hitler would be the first to deny certain groups the coronavirus vaccine and the protection it confers, as was done during Nazi Germany with the vaccines recommended at the time.

How are you struggling with why the comparisons to Hitler are nonsenical and offensive?

I've already stated many times I don't agree with this policy. Predictably the thread gets taken over with anti-vaccine misinformation and comparisons to Nazi germany which makes rational discussion impossible.

Here is what Dr Ezike (the woman you're misquoting) actually said:

“When we have looked at all the deaths that have occurred, and unfortunately there have been over 9,074 at this point, we have looked at those that were related to an accident or obviously not proximate to the COVID-19 virus,” she said during a press conference Wednesday. “It was less than 0.6% of those deaths were in that category where it was an accident, or homicide, or something where the COVID diagnosis was not the proximate cause of death.”

It isn't edited, it's an excerpt yes but she said those words. They have always said any death within a certain amount of time following a positive test = covide death - even if the person was asymptomatic. This is why everyday Sky News tweets about deaths "WITH" covid or "covid RELATED" deaths not FROM.
