Which would you choose?

Neither

Mantlemoose · 14/11/2021 21:28

No lockdown for anybody.

Dyerun · 14/11/2021 21:29

Neither

Geamhradh · 14/11/2021 21:29

Neither.
For me, the countries that have the balance right while we're still not at the end of the pandemic are the ones with sensible mitigations together with Covid passes for those who are vaccinated/negative tested/have a recovery certificate.

KurtWilde · 14/11/2021 21:30

Neither. No lockdowns for anyone ever again.

PurpleDaisies · 14/11/2021 21:31

How are you defining “lockdown”?

LadyCatStark · 14/11/2021 21:31

Neither but if I had to choose, lockdown for the unvaccinated.

loudbatperson · 14/11/2021 21:31

I don't think a lockdown for the unvaccinated would work.

I am vaccinated, but laying here ill with Covid, having caught it of my also vaccinated daughter.

We have been very careful throughout, but have been unlucky. We don't know exactly where my daughter caught it from (likely school) but she passed it over to me.

Krakenchorus · 14/11/2021 21:32

Through what mismanagement did it get to the point where those are the only options?

StrongSunglasses · 14/11/2021 21:32

Neither is acceptable.

PrincessNutNuts · 14/11/2021 21:32

That's similar to my view:

I think countries need to calibrate the right package of NPIs to keep cases low so that lockdowns or Tier 4s etc are not needed.

Interesting question for Remembrance Day, when we commemorate those who died for the freedom we treat so casually.

No lockdowns for anyone ever again.

QuornSausagesAreTheDevilsPenis · 14/11/2021 21:33

Neither. But mask wearing indoors being mandatory for a bit would be a least worst option.

72WayTooCool · 14/11/2021 21:33

Neither.

PrincessNutNuts · 14/11/2021 21:33

@Krakenchorus

I believe it is described as "living with covid".

Full lockdown and lock all the DC up

PrincessNutNuts · 14/11/2021 21:34

@PurpleDaisies

How are you defining “lockdown”?
You can define it however you want.

Just choose whether you want to apply it to the unvaccinated or everyone.

Rather insensitive to compare being asked to WFH and jog about to Joe Wicks to spending months in the trenches tbf.
vickyc90 · 14/11/2021 21:36

Neither we've all had or been exposed to it recently which thanks the vaccine has lead to a lot of winging and nothing else

PurpleDaisies · 14/11/2021 21:37

You can define it however you want.

In that case it’s a totally meaningless question.

KurtWilde · 14/11/2021 21:37

Rather insensitive to compare being asked to WFH and jog about to Joe Wicks to spending months in the trenches tbf

Rather insensitive to think this is all lockdown meant for people.

Covidworries · 14/11/2021 21:37

I dont agree with targeting unvacc population.
Im fully vaccinated but i do think it should remain a choice. I also dont think just locking down with unvaccinated would make a big enough difference as cases are so high and people are catching it with vaccinated status.

How high are cases.... well with lots of people openingly admitting to not testing and only 1st infections counted in data its hard to know.

Vaccinations have reduced hospitalisations but some are still so ill they end up in hospital.

I dont want lockdown again but if it becomes neccessary due to number of hospital cases then i think a prompt short and full lockdown is the best way to het numbers lower again

Eeiliethya · 14/11/2021 21:38

I've just started a thread similar based on the fact Austria is placing the unvaccinated portion of its population into lockdown on Monday, only allowed to leave for food and work.

Made me feel a bit ick.

OliveTree75 · 14/11/2021 21:39

Such a niave comment.

User5632986 · 14/11/2021 21:39

No point in just locking up the unvaccinated if all the DC are allowed out.
