Thanks boys3
Just to repeat what I posed at the end of the last thread...
Oneglassandpuzzeled thanks for that link and share token.
7 day average test positivity is now at 9.7%, which bares out that there's not enough testing to find cases. I wonder when the Scotgov got the sewage results, as it now makes sense why there were mutterings about more restrictions if more folk weren't vaccinated, before the PCR cases were clearly showing a rise.
COP26 might play a part, although Glasgow isn't looking too bad, but there's increases in Highland, Moray, Aberdeenshire etc....places to go for the October holiday?
Has there been results from the English sewage?

Piggywaspushed · 14/11/2021 18:06

The staff were being housed in Gleneagles - all crammed in together with few restrictions. it was in the press. COP26 will have had ripples beyond Glasgow.

Plus also schools back for a while.

Thanks for thread boys!

Perihelion · 14/11/2021 18:16

I'm in Edinburgh and have been playing police bingo as there's been so many different police force vans and police hanging around. But the rise is everywhere.

Piggywaspushed · 14/11/2021 18:24

Yes - I do think it's schools...but now trickling up to older age groups.

whatsnext2 · 14/11/2021 18:45

Thanks boys

following on from lonely's comment about Leicestershire and Northamptonshire towards the inevitabe denouement of the previous thread.

These are just for England and only look at the current week to date (ie starting with Monday 8th November spec date) as reported through so far and the equivalent point for last week as reported last Sunday.

Week on week cases in England up close to 14% - although Monday 8th is still slightly lower than the total for Monday 1st. These tables therefore shows case numbers for each week, the percentage change and the absolute change.

This starts with English regions. North East continues to show a very slight decline in numbers - so that's good news, as long as its not hiding another Immensa.

Increases everywhere else; single digit percentage increases in North West, Yorks and Humber and West Midlands; whereas 20%+ in London, South East and East Midlands

Placemarking again - thanks for the new thread, Boys

boys3 · 14/11/2021 19:40

Starting on a positive, the first set of councils with a reduction in cases for the week so far as compared with the same point last week.

Includes some decent falls in North East councils such as North Tyneside and South Tyneside. Ipswich with one of the biggest percentage falls. Northampton also appears in this, biggest percentage reduction, group. Only two other East Midlands councils in that list. Havering also features in contrast to the wider London picture.

the next group of Councils with a reduction.

The falls not that big - 3% to 8% - but falls all the same. One other Northants council features in this list being South Northamptonshire

Finally in the relative good news sections, those councils either flat, or with a very slight decrease. This includes both Leeds and Sheffield, and indeed Birmingham

boys3 · 14/11/2021 19:54

That's the good news done with. Now the rather longer set of Councils with increases; starting with the biggest percentage increases first.

This includes Rutland - pretty much part of Leicestershire in all but name; or Northamptonshire. Several Leicestershire councils Melton, Harborough and Blaby ; a number from Nottinghamshire Charnwood, Rushcliffe and Newark From London Richmond and Hammersmith and Fulham both appear in this first group.

Scotland - from Travelling Tabby

Great that older age groups are coming down but concerned to see a rise in 25-44 & 45-64. Hope the booster programme picks up pace.

Images are both the same - no idea why it's on twice Wink

sirfredfredgeorge · 14/11/2021 20:51

Is this right, the biggest increases are in the areas where there were the higher rates in the initial re-opening in July, but had gone down and stayed low for longer.

Do we have an age breakdown for these London case rises? Are they led by kids? Or is it more pointedly waning that has led to case transmission lines to open up more that spreads things mroe?

boys3 · 14/11/2021 21:02

have not looked specifically at London sirfred but the overall England increase is very much school age driven.

Oldest age groups in contrast are falling.

These are absolute like for like case numbers by age band; again just Monday - Saturday spec dates numbers as compared with the equivalent point last week.
