If you've had Covid who did you catch it from ?

I've just had Covid, my DS gave it to me and the whole household, he caught it from a boy on his table at school. The boy at school caught from his Nan who's a TA, who caught it from a child in her class. All the kids were infant age in so masks not applicable.

So I'm just wondering really all this hysteria about wearing a mask in the supermarket when really it's about very close contact transmission - sitting with, reading with, cuddling, lying in bed together, eating together.

No idea
I think probably the airport or the plane, but my son was right next to me at all times and he didn’t get it.

From my daughter, who caught it from girls she sits next to, who caught it from brother, who I assume caught it at school too.

DC (year 11) who caught it at school.

Test & Trace must hear this above and beyond, yet still zero mitigations in school.

I think I caught it from the woman sat next to me at a wedding, she sneezed on me three times in quick succession and I had to wash my hands as droplets had landed on them.

Several others at that wedding came down with Covid but I hadn't interacted with, or been near, any of the others.

I think we had covid back in Feb 2020, although no test to prove it.

My adult daughter caught it from me. I caught it from my husband. Husband caught it at work.

DS1 caught it on a night out. Whole family had to go for PCR tests. There are five of us so had to take 2 cars. DS2 had complained of a headache the night before so I took him and LF+ DS1 in my car, DH and DD went in another.

Nearly an hour's round trip. DS1 positive, the rest of us negative. Then DS2 and I got it, but DD and DH who had been in a separate car never did.

I caught it at thw start of summer. Had my firdt meal out i think since march 2020 so can only assume it was from there. Wasnt from the friend i met up woth though, and thankfullt i hadnt given it to her.

BalancingStick · 23/10/2021 10:13

From one of my DC who got it at a camp over the summer. Gave it to me and DH. Other DC, aged 3 so no social distancing possible, didn't catch it despite living with three other infected people.
@steppemum thats unfair they followed the guidelines and what was told and covid aymptims are also what you get with heavy cold or a c
sorry, but loss of taste is pretty covid specific, if you are ill, cough, cold, and loss of tatse and have had 3 positive LFT, you should not be in school.

I don't care if they were following guidelines to the letter as the pcr test was negative, that to me is basic common sense.
My dd had positve LFT and negative pcr. We kept her at home becuase she was coughing and under the weather (in normal times I woudl have probably made her go in) 48 hours later her tatse and smell went, and then she had a positive pcr test.

I find it frightening that people have so little common sense around this really.

Dd15 tested positive last weekend, she’d just been jabbed the week before, but not enough time for immunity to kick in. No doubt she caught it at school as it’s rife there. I caught it from her and tested positive yesterday.
