After having BOTH vaccines?
Just that really. Wondered if anyone know of anyone that's been seriously ill having been confirmed tested positive for Covid after having both vaccines?

Nope

ttcissoboring · 27/08/2021 21:17

No

whatswithtodaytoday · 27/08/2021 21:18

No, thankfully. Everyone who's had it post vaccination has had a bad cold or flu-like illness.

FtmNov22 · 27/08/2021 21:19

Yes a friend of mines younger sister only 22 years old, double vaxed and no health conditions was in hospital this week with covid, verry poorly!

UtterlyUnimaginativeUsername · 27/08/2021 21:24

Yup. My aunt had covid last year and was in hospital with it. Recovered and went on to have both vaccine doses. Caught it again, was hospitalised and died.

underneaththeash · 27/08/2021 21:24

No, both the people I knew who died (60’s) were unvaccinated and hospitalised ones were a fit women in her 40’s and the less fir owner of our pub last year. Both are not well still.

I know plenty of people who are vaccinated and have had COVID recently a d have been fine.

Miniroofbox · 27/08/2021 21:24

Yes. Very elderly lady.

Miniroofbox · 27/08/2021 21:25

She died.

SunbathingDragon · 27/08/2021 21:25

Yes but only one outside of work.

BunsyGirl · 27/08/2021 21:27

No, but I do know an acute medicine consultant who told me that the cases now presenting at our local
A & E are mainly unvaccinated people in their 40’s. He said that they respond quickly to treatment and don’t spend much time in hospital whereas previously it was older people they were treating and there wasn’t much they could do for them.

Yes a double vaccinated colleague is extremely ill at the moment. On the other hand I caught it myself after being double vaccinated and only suffered horrible headaches and exhaustion, no worse than any other virus for me.

Piggywaspushed · 27/08/2021 21:29

Yes ,me.

Tereseta · 27/08/2021 21:29

Yes a colleagues husband is very unwell with it at the minute. He was is in his 50s and double vaxed

IvorHughJarrs · 27/08/2021 21:29

Yes, friend's son, age 30, double vaxxed. He's a chunky but fit rugby player and had a couple of days in hospital on oxygen but luckily recovered well

CatAlice · 27/08/2021 21:31

Yes me. Double vaccinated but immunosuppressed so probably not as well protected. I've spent a week in hospital and recovering at home now. Feeling very relieved I had the vaccine as it undoubtedly made a difference.
Majority in the hospital were unvaccinated though, I did come across one other vaccinated woman with high risk factors.

Borderterrierpuppy · 27/08/2021 21:31

Yes loads
Two people I work with lost both parents ( all in their 50 s)
Some others admitted
Two with long covid.

99victoria · 27/08/2021 21:32

I don't know anyone who has been seriously ill or hospitalised at all throughout the whole pandemic. In fact none of my family or close friends have even had the virus (unless we've all been asymptomatic!)

Feel that maybe we're on borrowed time though ........

Until today no, as of this morning yes. Healthy 67 year old on ventilator. Double jabbed.
Hearnoevilspeaknoevil · 27/08/2021 21:36

Friend aged 50. Double jabbed. Very poorly and was admitted to local hospital this afternoon.

I'm so sorry💐xx
hellcatspangle · 27/08/2021 21:40

No, I know several who were before being vaccinated though.

Mintjulia · 27/08/2021 21:42

Yes, my best friend had both vaccines (AZ) and then went on holiday. She became ill the day she flew back, tested positive and is laid up with heavy flu symptoms, gunked up lungs etc. She's 59 so not old.

PreacherTeacher · 27/08/2021 21:43

My poor friend lost his mum to Covid at the beginning of the year. He lost his uncle a few weeks ago. Double vaccinated and was in his 80s. 🙁

hellcatspangle · 27/08/2021 21:44

So two people who work at your place, both had two double vaccinated parents in their 50's who all got covid and died?

onlyreadingneverposting8 · 27/08/2021 21:46

Yes - friend of mine's ex husband died this week - he was double vaxxed. Late 40s/early 50s age. Tragic loss for his kids 🙁
