After having BOTH vaccines?
Just that really. Wondered if anyone know of anyone that's been seriously ill having been confirmed tested positive for Covid after having both vaccines?

OP posts:

No, no one.

Sweettea1 · 27/08/2021 22:47

There is no way to tell how your body would react to the virus if you catch it after vaccine or no vaccine at all. I know some1 who has covid now double jabbed and really ill with it. My sister anti vax had covid few weeks ago and worse she had was a headache and no taste.

Grumpasaurus · 27/08/2021 22:48

Yes, me.

I am 38, overweight but otherwise healthy, double jabbed. Seriously ill but now recovering... though I see a long road ahead.

DH, 39, again overweight but otherwise healthy, not seriously ill but pretty sick, also double jabbed.

I truly believe has I not been jabbed I might have died.

Hoppinggreen · 27/08/2021 22:51

I know a semi pro sportsman in his 40s with no underlying health conditions who was rushed to hospital a couple of weeks ago.
He was double vacced

Hallomother · 27/08/2021 22:55

This thread makes for sobering reading. Had been feeling a lot better and getting back to normal since having both jabs.

Mantlemoose · 27/08/2021 23:00

Don't actually know anyone vaccinated or unvaccinated that's been seriously ill or hospitalised.

happydays2345 · 27/08/2021 23:06

No

BillyAndTheSillies · 27/08/2021 23:08

Two of my brothers best friends have been in hospital for a month on oxygen after testing positive. Both double jabbed and between 27 and 30.

mrsdolittle · 27/08/2021 23:11

Yes.

DM died of covid earlier this week. Covid got into her care home. She didn't stand a chance.

My cousin died of covid late last year (pre vaccination). She was 54

Covid is a bastard

I'm sorry for your loss 😢
GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 27/08/2021 23:22

No, and I heard today that the 2 elderly siblings of an elderly neighbour were today taken to hospital with Covid, while the neighbour has tested positive and is isolating.
All apparently unvaccinated because ‘they weren’t sure’ about having it, not for any medical reason.

TyotyaKlava · 27/08/2021 23:22

My dad died this Tuesday he was not vaxxed. My mum caught the virus the same time as him had flu like symptoms, cough, quite tired but recovered. She was fully jabbed (Sputnik).

Gakatsbsk · 27/08/2021 23:24

In ICU, most covid patients who are ventilated at the moment are unvaccinated. There are some HDU patients who have had one or both vaccinations. In the wards they have patients both vaccinated and unvaccinated.

An elderly family friend had both vaccines but died of covid. Vaccination isn’t infallible but it has definitely helped. Now for the booster covid vaccine and a hopefully good uptake of the flu vaccine this winter

Gakatsbsk · 27/08/2021 23:24

I should of said at my hospital^ obviously don’t speak for the whole UK

Darthwader · 27/08/2021 23:24

No, don't know anybody who has been ill with it, with or without vaccinations, at any point.

Shanghaisprize · 27/08/2021 23:25

Yes, a colleague died at the start of last week, age 46 no other health conditions and normal weight. A friend's Uncle was admitted to ICU on Monday - 52 with asthma but normal weight.

sunnymoo · 27/08/2021 23:29

I have a close friend who works in an icu and they are getting quite a few double vaccinated people in with blood clotting problems, quite a few have died

Driftingblue · 27/08/2021 23:34

Yes. Hospitalized and thankfully recovered. Both were clinically vulnerable. It’s extremely likely they would have died without the vaccine.

Cactusandmarshmallows · 27/08/2021 23:52

Yes 2 people (in the USA). One died (elderly) and one (30s) is still recovering

JamSconeCat · 27/08/2021 23:53

I know of one person, before the jabs were out.
She was in her 60's and passed away in intensive care.

I also know of more than 10 people who didnt die 'of' covid but had it on their death certificate. My mother being one of them.

Goldeneggg · 27/08/2021 23:59

Yes, a relative is currently hospitalised. Double jabbed, diabetes.

TableFlowerss · 28/08/2021 00:09

A free friends have had covid after having 1 jab and all fine. One has asthma, one is obese and they were all absolutely fine

peoplearepeople · 28/08/2021 00:20

Yes. Next door neighbours. Both in their 40's,double jabbed. They are both overweight though and I have noticed a pattern with people claiming no underlying conditions in those who fall very ill yet they are often visibly overweight. It's certainly giving us a push to get as healthy as possible.

Name12341 · 28/08/2021 00:25

Yes but only with astrazeneca. However that could be due to older age groups primarily having astrazeneca and younger age groups primarily having Pfizer or Moderna.

Alpenguin · 28/08/2021 00:31

My partner works in intensive care. They say that the people they’ve had in who were double vaccinated have been CEV and that the large majority in ICU are unvaccinated. One or two fully vax’d have been taken in with other conditions and tested covid positive while there but asymptotic.
