After having BOTH vaccines?
Just that really. Wondered if anyone know of anyone that's been seriously ill having been confirmed tested positive for Covid after having both vaccines?

Should add no underlying conditions either.

allthegoodusernameshavegone · 27/08/2021 21:54

Friend ,today, age 52 double jabbed, not in hospital, but very very unwell.

SkylarFerris · 27/08/2021 21:54

No
I’m double jabbed and still got covid. Currently recovering.

TartanJumper · 27/08/2021 21:55

Thankfully, no.

Gindrinker43 · 27/08/2021 21:55

Nope, but plenty of people who have been seriously ill or died prior to being vaccinated

Hercisback · 27/08/2021 21:55

Yes.

Lelivre · 27/08/2021 21:59

OP are you worrying about vaccination and if they work? Because stats are available on hospitalisations and vaccination status not just for the UK but in other countries too. The picture is really clear. Sometimes yes this will happen as full protection is not afforded by vaccination (as with yearly flu vaccines) but there is a disproportionate number of unvaccinated people in hospital. In the US this is particularly clear as some areas there is low uptake and the hospitalisation numbers in these states are reflective of this.

SpongeCake23 · 27/08/2021 22:00

Yes a friend’s mum who is also overweight and has diabetes. Had both jabs and was on oxygen for a few days.

CarryOnNurse20 · 27/08/2021 22:01

I have been v lucky that I don’t know anyone at all who’s been the slightest bit ill with covid either caught before or after vaccination and I know a lot of people who’ve had it. I appreciate this is luck (so far) and lots of people do get ill so I try not to get complacent.

Yes. 50's and overweight, was on a ventilator. He's slowly on the mend now.

lightattheendofthetunnel2021 · 27/08/2021 22:05

Nope, not double vaccinated.

Know of two who ended up on ICU before vaccines though, last year.

L1ttleSeahorse · 27/08/2021 22:08

Oh. Im very overwieght and asthmatic and had been feelig better since being double jabbed.

Borderterrierpuppy · 27/08/2021 22:08

Didn’t read thread properly before posting, no not after vaccination.

Oliveandsage · 27/08/2021 22:12

Yes, one person who was double jabbed and got covid, in thirties, unfortunately died. No underlying health issues but was overweight (not obese, maybe a stone over a healthy BMI?)

Fairyfalls · 27/08/2021 22:13

Yes colleague double jabbed aged 59 with underlying health conditions and over weight. Now in an induced coma. Pray for him

doublemonkey · 27/08/2021 22:22

Yes, both parents had deep vein thrombosis and I know someone who died from same.

ApplesAreTheBaneOfMyLife · 27/08/2021 22:22

No. The worst I’ve known is someone who felt unwell (no energy etc) for about 3 weeks but now fine.

MaMelon · 27/08/2021 22:25

I know of people through my colleagues in ICU - but thankfully no-one personally

blacksax · 27/08/2021 22:31

@Borderterrierpuppy

Yes loads Two people I work with lost both parents ( all in their 50 s) Some others admitted Two with long covid.
Loads? Really? Hmm

Almost everyone else knows nobody at all, or maybe the odd one or two and you know loads? Come off it.

userperuser · 27/08/2021 22:31

I know someone who died of covid recently, caught after being admitted to hospital for something unrelated. Double vaxxed aged 41 with no underlying long-term conditions.

drpet49 · 27/08/2021 22:32

Don’t know anyone that has been.

littlepeas · 27/08/2021 22:37

I don’t personally know anyone who has been hospitalised or seriously ill full stop. The closest I can get is the father in law of one of my friends - hospitalised and recovered early on in the pandemic (pre vaccination). I chatted briefly to someone whose father in law died. Hoping it stars this way of course.

CoopsMalloops · 27/08/2021 22:37

Yes, two people. Both early 40’s. (One fully jabbed the other one jab) Very ill with covid and passed it on to me.

Shallwegoforawalk · 27/08/2021 22:39

Not seriously ill no. I know a couple who are DJ and had been quite unwell but not enough to need hospital. Both now recovered.
