Surely this kills the idea of vaccine passports

So no if double jabbed can still pass it on surely vaccine passports are pointless

news.sky.com/story/covid-19-delta-variant-can-still-be-transmitted-by-people-who-are-double-jabbed-but-protection-against-illness-and-death-is-high-12384933

Vaccine protects from serious illness according to this so that’s good but whether you are vaccinated or not doesn’t mean you can’t pass it on so you shouldn’t surely discriminate. People are free to choose what to do for their personal health and equally shouldn’t be vilified

@ACreakingGateNeverStops,

Unfortunately old people do die more easily than young people.

However, the rate of hospitalisations and deaths is pretty stable from 25 to 65 (and not that much higher to 75). That shows what a remarkable job the vaccines have done and is so different from the previous wave.

Once you get to 75, the vast majority of people have all sorts of co-morbidities, as well as plain old age; nothing works quite so well any more.

Despite the diet and beauty industries' claims, whatever we eat or have done to ourselves, we are not immortal.

@ACreakingGateNeverStops

Ps I'd also really like to see a breakdown of vaccinated/unvaccinated people in hospital broken down by age too!!

P 17 and p22, the latest technical briefing

@TheReluctantPhoenix

Yep. Highest rate of hospitalisation and death is still in the older groups though.

bumbleymummy · 20/08/2021 19:24

Sorry xpost with creaking date. Hadn’t refreshed!

bumbleymummy · 20/08/2021 19:24

Gate*

bumbleymummy · 20/08/2021 19:36

Thanks hihey. I’d like to see a bit more of an age breakdown than 50

TheReluctantPhoenix · 20/08/2021 19:45

@bumbleymummy,

Well, yes, not sure that was ever in dispute-your point is?

bumbleymummy · 20/08/2021 20:22

Just an observation really. Like creakinggate made.

There have been a few people saying that delta is hitting young people harder etc but these graphs seem to show that it’s just about the same.
