Even after the vaccine, deaths are 7 times worse.

We weren’t in the middle of a wave of infection in August last year. The number of cases was very low.

Different variants different times. August to August isnt a fair or direct comparison

Your comparing two dates with no other considerations. We had locked down until levels of infection were very low last year, now we’re not locked down and any restrictions are optional.

If you want a comparison that isn’t silly you need to compare seven days of deaths from periods with the same levels of infection.

We were just coming out of a long lockdown last year with a much less contagious virus.

I’m not surprised, the vaccine can only do so much and not everyone has had it and with no restrictions, many refusing to test so they can go out and about and fewer wearing masks cases can spread easier. Then isolating goes next Monday …..

Whilst it's obvious the OP has an agenda, and I expect the post will be zapped pretty soon, I think it might be useful for anyone worried before that happens -

In July 2020, we averaged 668 cases recorded a day.
In July 2021, we averaged 33,791.

In the first 7 days of Aug 20, by date of death, 77 people in the UK died within 28 days of a positive Covid test.

In the first 7 days of Aug 21, by date of death, 549 people in the UK died within 28 days of a positive Covid test.

So cases are now approximately 50 times worse in terms of recorded cases; deaths 7 times. A staggering improvement.

My DP has been dealing with random viruses from my browsing for years before this puny pandemic. I’ve probably spawned variants of variants of computer viruses! First thing he does when I get a new phone is put an antivirus on (which I ignore - I do love a flashy conspiracy site!)
