DH has gone out for a friends birthday tonight.
He’s gone to Newcastle. It’s the first night out he’s had since our son was born 18 months ago.

I haven’t gone as I’m not ready to leave our son over night.

I have so far seen several snap chat updates from friends. They are in packed bars, dancing, hugging, singing.

Im so disappointed in him. I’ve tried to hard to avoid catching Covid and I really feel now like
DH is going to bring it home to me and our son!!

Honestly you didn’t want him to go out nothing to do with Covid. I can’t be arsed with people that push their anxiety on others .he wants to go out so let him enjoy himself. You could be out enjoying life but instead your worried about catching a virus even though your double jabbed . Get over it this could be around for another 18 months.

Howcanthisbe123 · 25/07/2021 09:27

Give the guy a break! And take one yourself!

Your double jabbed, this could go on for 2 more years, you can’t stay in forever.

rantymcrantface66 · 25/07/2021 09:27

It's pretty lucky there are 8 dc in your child's nursery class. The staff in the nursery in the school I work in see 60 per day and 120 per week. I am surrounded by 25 slightly bigger dc, no social distancing involved and have worked all through the last lockdown so people understandably have different perspectives.

MrsMcNtobe · 25/07/2021 09:29

@Imnothereforthedrama I fully agree with this! I think the underlying issue is that he’s away without you even tho you chose not to go.
Hope you don’t give him the guilt trip when he gets back.

OneMamaAndHerGirl · 25/07/2021 09:30

It’s not his fault your obese if your that scared do something about it instead of trying to control your husbands

OneMamaAndHerGirl · 25/07/2021 09:31

husband

Remmy123 · 25/07/2021 09:31

I can't believe you expected your husband to wear a mask on a night out

You are vaccinated and we have to move on from this. You cannot hide away forever as covid ain't going nowhere!!

Abraxan · 25/07/2021 09:32

I'm fairly cautious re covid. I'm CV so have had to be. However I have since had covid, and I am double vaccinated.

Despite having reason to be cautious (CV and covid put me in hospital first time round) , I still think you are being unreasonable to an extent.

I live with a 19y teen. She is out and about at nightclubs and festivals. She is at university but home for summer. She is finally being allowed a taste of freedom and normality and I don't begrudge her doing so one bit. She takes a test every so often just in case, we know she hasn't had covid - she did an antibody test to check. She is double vaccinated and post 2 weeks now.

I have had to work during the pandemic at times, with no masks, no SD and poor ventilation. I was able to wfh during the main 2 lockdowns but not the rest.

As a result the 'fear' is much reduced. I go out for meals, I've been to bars, I'm going on holidays (UK) etc.

whenwillthemadnessend · 25/07/2021 09:33

I went to the city in Newcastle last week on hols

I was a bit worried but we were careful

I now have A bad headache and slightly blocked nose. Lft was neg yesterday. I'll do another test tomz.

But otherwise all. Four of us are well.

Me and dh double jabbed. We were not clubbing tho

Elys3 · 25/07/2021 09:33

Christ the revolting and nasty specimens on this thread. OP Flowers

justasking111 · 25/07/2021 09:36

Your child going to nursery is statistically more likely to give you covid ditto working.

I would cut him some slack

Inastatus · 25/07/2021 09:37

Blimey, give him a break. My DH and DS went to the Silverstone Grand Prix last weekend and were mingling with 140,000 others. They are both fine.

Starlightstarbright1 · 25/07/2021 09:37

This is life.

Your are as protected as you are going to be. Time to get on with life.

thenewduchessofhastings · 25/07/2021 09:42

Myself&DH are both double jabbed yet both still got covid recently.

Being vaccinated doesn't prevent you catching it.Also the delta variant is highly transmissible.

Bryonyshcmyony · 25/07/2021 09:42

@Neondisco

I really do genuinely feel sorry for you, it must be awful to carry so much hatred and negativity around with you.

RolloTomassi · 25/07/2021 09:44

OP, you are being very controlling here. He's an adult, he's entitled to do anything he wants within reason, and this IS reasonable. One normal night out in 18 months. It's now totally legal. He's double jabbed. A mask would be shit, and they protect others rather than the wearer, so that's a red herring. Life has to go on, lay off him.

AllThatFancyPaintsAsFair · 25/07/2021 09:45

@Elys3

I understand. You feel let down. He could take LFTs when he comes back.
How will that help?

I'm not @NannyAndJohn but unless he's isolating from her what use is taking a test? So he finds out he has covid, then what? The damage would already be done

I've noticed that lots of posters on here suggest LFTs for every social situation as if they are some kind of magic shield but there doesn't seem to be any logic at all.

You’re both still alive though, so the vaccination is doing it’s job.
Dreamstate · 25/07/2021 09:54

Hysterical much! You mentioned your weight being a reason why your so anxious over this. So guess what lose weight then instead of making your husband live a life that has to safeguard you over something that can be changed.

Maybe start going to the supermarket instead of getting deliveries, walking around the shop..it all adds up.

And no im not being anti fat as I've been size 22 before.

Funny how he has been allowed out to other places where you are so adamant it was all socially distanced, how do you know he didn't hug people or not have a mask on.

If you live in a constant state of fear what kind of life is that anyway!

You can't control what your husband does!

Elys3 · 25/07/2021 09:56

They’d have to isolate from each other as well of course

Dreamstate · 25/07/2021 09:57

And just to hammer it home op about how ridiculous your being, your obesity as you say your are obese will kill you. So if your so concerned about your health than you should be tackling that urgently. Who knows what damage its already doing to your body, stress on your joints etc.

Elys3 · 25/07/2021 09:59

But that isn’t going to help with her immediate problem is it? It takes time to lose weight. Hmm
TheDevils · 25/07/2021 09:59

I'd get him to isolate in a spare room for 10 days and take a daily test.

Ffs. Ridiculous

Elys3 · 25/07/2021 10:00

And it’s you’re not your

eandz13 · 25/07/2021 10:03

Just a reminder that covid is still going to be here in 10, 20, 100 years. I do wonder what peoples plans are for the rest of their lives.
