So the PM and chancellor aren't isolating even though Javid is positive, as they are taking part in a pilot programme. Ive heard it all now.

Never thought I'd say it but

Enough is enough.

They have a lack of good sense that is simply mind boggling.

ineedaholidaynow · 18/07/2021 11:11

From the 16th August children won’t have to isolate as contacts anyway. Don’t need to be in a scheme

3asAbird · 18/07/2021 11:11

Just rishi or bojo too.
Maybe they should be made seld isolate all summer like school kids of had to summer term multiple times

beigebrownblue · 18/07/2021 11:11

Yes. Two and a half hours on a Sunday is a long time in politics, isn't it?

Must be a record so far for a U turn, isn't it?

PaulaPetunia · 18/07/2021 11:12

Independence won't protect you from thus ruling class @ssd.

PaulaPetunia · 18/07/2021 11:12

this ruling class.

PhilCornwall1 · 18/07/2021 11:12

@ssd

How much are these men being paid??? Im on 9.50 an hour and have more sense than them.

Fingers crossed for independence here

Not as much as you'd think. Sunak is minted anyway.

Johnson's worth fuck all, thanks to his ex, who stitched him up. Good on her.

carcarbinks · 18/07/2021 11:13

@ssd I know they're millionaires already but that doesn't stop Johnson in particular continuing to act in his own self interest and for his own financial gain. I'm sure his desire to take part in the pilot was because of some private event or holiday he had planned not because he is going to be working hard as our leader. Isn't parliament in recess soon?

Benjispruce5 · 18/07/2021 11:14

All hell will break loose now. We have no leadership in a time of crisis. Angry

PicsInRed · 18/07/2021 11:16

I trust people are starting to understand now what is going on here.

Oh, there is a virus, we do need to take it seriously, we should be vaccinated if possible...but we should also have opened up by now and they know it.

Why not? Well, there is a lot of private crony money in testing and tracing. Too much to give up.

They now have a LOT of £kin in this game.

ResIpsaLoquiturInterAlia · 18/07/2021 11:17

This is popularity politics that is anything but popular.

Barnard Castleism on steroids!

ChittyChittyBoomBoom · 18/07/2021 11:17

It’s now being reported that they’re doing a U turn and are now isolating following the criticism 🙄

User135644 · 18/07/2021 11:18

If these fuckers are voted back in next time, I give up.

We get the governments we deserve.

TopBitchoftheWitches · 18/07/2021 11:18

@RosesAndHellebores

Frankly I don't blame them and think we need to start doing our own individual risk assessments. DS had covid a few weeks ago. We self isolated and he was scrupulous about limiting his contact with us. We exiled him to the summer house and took daily lfts. We are both double jabbed and I think it would have been entirely reasonable for us to not self isolate.

The world has to start again.

The summer house 😂
IlonaRN · 18/07/2021 11:18

@Ilikeviognier

Sorry the comment above wasn’t clear - it’s my 5 year olds last week in reception next week, which he will have to miss….
My 5-yr-old is not only missing his last week of Reception class, he's missing a friend's much-anticipated birthday party today :(
Abraxan · 18/07/2021 11:19

Quick u turn there.

How on earth did they ever think people wouldn't criticise the pilot decision or believe the idea of them being selected at random to be included?!? Ridiculous!

Now, more than ever, those leading the country should be setting the example for all to see.

Fallsballs · 18/07/2021 11:19

It’s always been one rule for them and another for the plebs.
Nothing has changed and won’t until people stop voting for them. They don’t give a shiny shit, never have and never will IMO.

They're untouchable because the English love their shitty Conservative Party and its people love doffing their caps to the toffs.

Another 10% lead in the polls next week.

DogsSausages · 18/07/2021 11:21

They have done a u turn and are now isolating, so that's the PM, health sec and chancellor all in isolation just as we open up tomorrow. What a joke.

Abraxan · 18/07/2021 11:21

@spinningspaniels

The PM has been in intensive care with Covid, and is double jabbed. His viral load will be negligible even if he's been in contact with Covid.

And I'd imagine he's had the best medical advice on this Hmm

Irrelevant. That's not how self isolation works here.

I'm double vaccinated. I was in hospital with covid, I have antibodies still. I still Have to isolate.

ResIpsaLoquiturInterAlia · 18/07/2021 11:22

So is it still they follow the science while we follow dates? Herd immunity let it rip Johnson variants experiment on steroids commencing in hours unless another u turn.

Fallsballs · 18/07/2021 11:24

Yes I think there’s a weird belief that because someone went to Eton and talks posh they know what they’re doing @User135644

Nothing will change in this country until the English love affair with the Conservatives and the aristocracy dissipates (i.e. never).

PicsInRed · 18/07/2021 11:26

@milkytwilight

Rishi announced half an hour ago he appreciates how unfair it must seem, and is therefore going to isolate.
At his enormous private 5 bed residence in Kensington, with its own private gardens? Or his sprawling manor house in North Yorkshire?

If he isolates in a no air conditioning high rise studio flat in central London I'm listening.

Otherwise, he can stfu.

Fallsballs · 18/07/2021 11:27

And Johnson is hardly slumming it at Chequers.
