Just wondering if those that have refused to have the vaccine are now wishing they had?

There’s a lot of talk about vaccinated people not having to quarantine in the future making travel easier, the possibility of a vaccine passport to be able to go to events and travel.

I have several friends that have refused to have the vaccine due to conspiracy theories and ‘not knowing the risks’, if they had taken the first vaccine they would have had their 2nd by now and potentially be ok to travel in the coming weeks or attend events, there even talk of some jobs needing vaccination (care workers).

I’m just wondering if anyone regrets their choice not to vaccinate?

BTW, I am vaccinated but I’m not judging those who decided against it, just wondering if they have changed their minds?

Or indeed any pain relief or common medications?

Thank you @CrunchyCarrot. That's very kind

@WanderingFruitWonderer I’m sorry to hear that but understand the psychological impact this is having..I’ve not yet had to say that I’ve had it but being pushed to by the constant pressure…

Primarily a vaccine protects the vaccinated person. For this reason, it should always be a personal choice, with people able to assess their own risks based upon their individual risk factors like age, weight, other medical issues etc. The sole purpose of a government and other health organisations should be to provide information about the risks and benefits of the illness and the vaccine so that people can make informed choices and that is all. The fact these bodies are currently overstepping their jurisdiction on a massive scale is abhorrent and dangerous. The Nuremberg code states that no person should be forced or coerced into medical treatment and consent must be voluntary. Yet, here we are, threatened by governments around the world that we might not be able to travel, work or socialise without first agreeing to a medical procedure. Arguing that abstaining from vaccination is still possible but that you must accept that you might not have access to some areas of your old life does not equal a freedom of choice.

I also see people on here arguing that everybody must be vaccinated for the good of the whole population and herd immunity. However, I would argue that there still needs to be choice. In fact, all other altruistic medical possibilities remain a choice. You can choose to give blood or donate bone marrow or donate your organs for example. Accepting vaccination while it is still in the trial period on the basis that it might not be necessary for your own protection but for that of others must remain voluntary. For this reason there should be zero stigma or restrictions placed upon you for not giving your consent.

@Namechanged4thi5 thank you. Comforting to know I'm not alone

Namechanged4thi5 · 26/06/2021 18:58

@WanderingFruitWonderer no you are not alone but may feel that way as many won’t voice the concerns out loud.

WanderingFruitWonderer · 26/06/2021 19:20

@Namechanged4thi5 indeed
