Just wondering if those that have refused to have the vaccine are now wishing they had?

There’s a lot of talk about vaccinated people not having to quarantine in the future making travel easier, the possibility of a vaccine passport to be able to go to events and travel.

I have several friends that have refused to have the vaccine due to conspiracy theories and ‘not knowing the risks’, if they had taken the first vaccine they would have had their 2nd by now and potentially be ok to travel in the coming weeks or attend events, there even talk of some jobs needing vaccination (care workers).

I’m just wondering if anyone regrets their choice not to vaccinate?

BTW, I am vaccinated but I’m not judging those who decided against it, just wondering if they have changed their minds?

But now when natural immunity is mentioned it is often met by derision. Why

Sorry I subedited your sentence to make sense without context.

Why is this never picked up on at best and laughed at at worst? Why, indeed?

Poorlykitten · 23/06/2021 17:56

All the anti-vaxers on here panicking now in case they change their mind…or want to go on holiday. 😂

Dustyboots · 23/06/2021 18:04

If you read the whole thread @Poorlykitten (which you clearly haven't) you'll find it's very much the other way round.

canigooutyet · 23/06/2021 18:07

Psst. You don't need the vaccine to travel.
You can also travel if tested negative, or recovered from an infection.

Poorlykitten · 23/06/2021 18:08

@Dustyboots I’ve been on it since the beginning.

Dustyboots · 23/06/2021 18:09

Oh - you must have poor comprehension skills then @Poorlykitten. I'm sorry.

Poorlykitten · 23/06/2021 18:11

No need to be sorry @Dustyboots. I’m perfectly capable of reading a thread but thank you for your kind concern. Most touching.

Not panicking at all. Not even a tad.
shewalkslikerihanna · 23/06/2021 18:20

Me neither

sleepwouldbenice · 23/06/2021 18:21

This thread really is a waste of time
Just a slanging match

Very few will change their mind.

The numbers will be high enough, if not then older kids will be bought into the mix just like in other countries. It will just take longer to reach the pint whereby we can drop restrictions

I am sure most will put up with the consequences, good or bad

Literally no one is panicking because we’ve not had it- reading various threads it would appear to be the other way around. If you care to read this thread you’ll see how we’re cautiously waiting to see how this affects people if at all. I see a lot of people with genuine concerns about going ahead with second doses.

Us ‘unvaxxed’ have the opportunity to change our decisions and bring forward our jabs, the jabbed don’t have that option sadly. But keep on cry laughing if it helps you sleep better 😉

Parker231 · 23/06/2021 18:37

Why do those not vaxxed think that those of us who have had both vaccinations (as have all my family and friends with the exception of 21 year old DT’s who have theirs appointments booked) are worried. I felt so positive when I came out of the vaccine centre. It’s a good feeling.

Not all do. It was you choice to get the vaccine like it’s my choice not to. I have seen a few vaxxed people say they regret it but the majority seem happy with their choice.
Tiari · 23/06/2021 18:49

  1. Because most of you sound worried.
  2. You're all on a thread for unvaxxed, for some strange reason.
Title: Just wondering if those who have refused to have the vaccine are now wishing they had?
Poorlykitten · 23/06/2021 18:53

It’s not a thread for just ‘unvaxed’ people, what makes you think that? I’m very happy I’ve had my two jabs, as have most of my family and all of my friends. No regrets. Feel very relieved.

Did you read the title of the thread?

Also in the op’s original post the question is-

I’m just wondering if anyone regrets their choice not to vaccinate?

I would say that’s pretty clear.

Tiari · 23/06/2021 19:01

It's not a thread for just "unvaxed" people, what makes you think that?

  1. The thread title
  2. OP's questions:
"I'm just wondering if anyone regrets their choice not to vaccinate?" "Just wondering if they have changed their minds?"
Poorlykitten · 23/06/2021 19:02

What are you saying that we can’t post on a social media site that is open to everyone? How bizarre.

Tiari · 23/06/2021 19:05

How bizarre that you would come on a thread for unvaxed just to butt in and argue. Maybe to relieve your own anxieties?

Think someone wants a bit of attention by the looks of it😉 Or maybe the vaccine side affects are finally showing and sending people a bit crazy! Grin

Let her get on with it she sounds totally bizarre…

Sorry I subedited your sentence to make sense without context.

but it hasn't been, in the slightest

The ONS are conducting a large survey to test how many people have infection induced antibodies (as opposed to vaccination induced)

Vaccine passports will show ‘natural immunity’ for people who have had Covid - "Immunity certificates to last for six months and appear as a green badge on the NHS app under new trial"

www.telegraph.co.uk/politics/2021/06/15/people-have-had-covid-will-have-natural-immunity-included-vaccine/

The key thing we don't want to get to herd immunity via natural infection, as this is a far riskier strategy (for both the individual and surrounding population) than vaccination. This has been advised by pretty much all governments worldwide now, and the WHO.

I’d it now not okay to post another side of the argument? Or do you anti-vaxers just want free reign to peddle your own agendas? You are not the mumsnet police. Or maybe you’d like to be. There’s no need for rudeness. It’s been a fairly interesting discussion up til now and the ‘oh no! Not enough vaccines on the shelves past August’ debate.

Kinda wreaks of smug rudeness on your part wouldn’t you say? 🤗
