Will the unvaccinated have to “stay at home”

I’m pregnant, due November and have decided not to have the vaccine until after baby is born.

I’m starting to worry that there will be rules for what unvaccinated people can or cannot do.

Will it be the case where you have to be vaccinated to eat / drink out, go to the hairdressers or nail salon etc....?

I don’t want to spend my time at home but I’m not comfortable being vaccinated whilst pregnant.
@Wherediditgo yes, I wonder how many people advocating for "vaccine passports" have DC at school, because they are probably more likely to catch it from their own kids than an unvaccinated person in the street!
I'm not advocating for vaccine passports, but they are not for going out on the street. Hmm

They're for situations where there's a real risk of transmission.

True, true.... but where do you think children catch it from?

Waxonwaxoff0 · 01/06/2021 13:49

@Lweji a school is a situation with a serious risk of transmission.

So, not "in the street"?

It may or may not be. My son's school hasn't been. They take precautions seriously. They all wear masks, open windows, have separate meal times and breaks, etc.
Not all schools, or school years. ;)

If people are going to argue for something, they better get their arguments properly formed.
Is it the street? Is it schools? Which schools?

@Lweji

My point was, I don't get why people are supporting "vaccine passports" for places like restaurants, if they have unvaccinated school age children. Because you're probably more likely to catch Covid from your child's school.

@Totallydefeated

auntpollie oh to be so lucky to be in such total ignorance of what it means to struggle to conceive!

You should thank your lucky stars traumatisednoodle that you’ve never been in OP’s shoes.

This!

You could support vaccination passports for the sake of those who are unable to have vaccines but who are high risk of covid. This is likely to be a small number of people, but they should also be catered for.

You can support this even if you are not someone it applies to and even if you have unvaccinated school age children, because you think it is good that this group of people also have access to services.

It would be good to have certain days where services required vaccine passports and certain days where they didn’t to maximally allow people to have access.

What an awful idea. That doesn't protect anyone whose vaccine doesn't give sufficient protection, or who isn't able to have it. Those who can't be vaccinated would be forced to go out only when the anti-vax anti-mask idiots are out, the highest risk possible. If people are less protected or unable to be vaccinated, but unlucky enough to work in a public facing role, they will be facing the highest viral load all on one day. Meanwhile anyone with concerns about their immune response such as the elderly will end up staying home, affecting businesses and the ability to move on.

Namenic · 03/06/2021 17:23

Well vaccination passport days would be for those who are medically unable to be vaccinated (with medical cert) and those who have been fully vaccinated. The people who are worried about immune response could go on the vaccination passport days as perhaps it would be less likely to have the anti vaxxers out on those days?
