Sorry, I was referring to one big one in London today.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 29/05/2021 11:06

Nah. I'm just living my life how I want to now.

Baluchistan95 · 29/05/2021 11:08

That's fair enough, can't argue with that. We should all be doing that.

The anti-lockdown March that will probably cause another lockdown? 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

murbblurb · 29/05/2021 11:20

Jolly good. Do tell what the virus has to say to you.

While Victoria locks down over 26 cases and UK cases double in less than a week...

Have any marches caused another lockdown so far? Or even seen a rise in cases afterwards? Or is it only ones that are challenging the lockdown measures?

I suspect that's what most of them secretly want. As well as a day out causing disruption to put upon Londoners (yet again - because they always do it in the same place, to avoid the maximum publicity a new location would attract...which suggests their priority is a day out and causing annoyance rather than their so called 'cause'.)
Legoninjago1 · 29/05/2021 11:23

Have you been vaccinated OP? Out of interest.

Yeah cos those marches really achieve so much don’t they.

Tealightsandd · 29/05/2021 11:35

Why do they always cause disruption protest in London (or a select few other large cities)?

Seems they don't like doing it in their own backyards. Perhaps because, as one once admitted on another thread, they don't want to upset their own neighbours.

They want to 'protest', they should have a change of scenery. If they genuinely wanted attention for their 'cause' they'd do it in a small market town or sleepy village. They don't though do they. Which speaks volumes.

wondersun · 29/05/2021 11:35

I think the anti lockdown marchers must secretly love a lockdown 🤭🤭

Of course not.

Why of course not? Or are you a conspiracy theorist too?

That remains to be seen. What we do know is that they are getting bigger and bigger.

These marches just add to the problem, spreading it even faster. Great we will end up continually locked up at this rate. Unless you are marching for something worthwhile stay home.

MareofBeasttown · 29/05/2021 11:42

This weekend, I plan to eat out, go to a museum, see a friend, sit in a cafe, and do some shopping while the freedom marchers protest about not having any freedom.

Baluchistan95 · 29/05/2021 11:42

Erm...someone who doesn't want to have an experimental vaccine that is still being trialled and only has an emergency approval = conspiracy theorist. Comedy gold. You couldn't make it up.

XenoBitch · 29/05/2021 11:42

There is one planned near me in a few weeks (not a city). I intend to go. I expect it will just be people milling about in a park, but still.

Because the government are in London and not a sleepy little market town maybe? Or because transport to London is more accessible than a little town?
HazeyJaneII · 29/05/2021 11:43

Is this a protest against the virus? Gosh I hope so, 'Down With Infectious Diseases!!'
Apparently shouting them and waving placards is the only thing that works against them (obviously whilst refusing to engage in or moaning about the measures that actually do help against them)

Tealightsandd · 29/05/2021 11:44

The McDonald's protests got tons of attention last week. Why? Because they took place outside of the same old march and protest a day London and other big cities.

Now that's how you make a stand and get people talking. Take it to the rest of the country.

But these people won't do that because they haven't the guts to take their 'cause' to places where the locals would be less tolerant of their disruptive 'protests'. No courage of their convictions. They're cowards. A motley crew consisting of rent-a-mob, those who want a day out, and people who (secretly) want to prolong the pandemic and want another lockdown.

Nerdygirl · 29/05/2021 11:45

They are not all marching about lockdown, they are also marching about the dangerous route we are going down with medical passports and data . They are marching about a corrupt government who have mishandled yet profited from this pandemic. They are marching about the censorship such as what we have seen with Facebook and censoring the wuhan made in a lab theory which they have now back tracked on. They are marching about the lack of challenge from politics parties and the media .

Sure some may disagree with lockdown but for many more it’s much more complicated . To bundle them in as conspiracy theorists and covidiots and make false accusations about super spreading is not fair. Many of them will be there to try and protect democracy.
