How’s everyone feeling about Happy Monday?

Wingingit15 · 29/03/2021 08:31

I’m not feeling all that happy actually and just feel will have to hide away more in a week or two when there has been so much mixing. Not saying that’s not right, just don’t feel confident at all particularly when schools
return post a fortnight of it!
I suspect it might be different if you’re vaccinated etc though.

Well I’m working (at home ) so no mixing for me but hoping to see some family at the weekend . Excited to get to socialise though .

MaxRiemelt · 29/03/2021 08:40

Infection levels are plummeting. If you've not had the vaccine then you're obviously not vulnerable. It's fine. You're over thinking the situation.

yeOldeTrout · 29/03/2021 08:40

FANTASTIC that most people can get more social support and start back to activities that keep them sane and employed.

Makes no difference to me personally because my family are abroad.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 29/03/2021 08:40

Feeling great. I'm working so won't be seeing anyone until the weekend but meeting friends in the garden on Saturday! I'm unvaccinated so that has no bearing on it.

MondeoFan · 29/03/2021 08:43

My parents still won't meet outside as they are scared/weird/uninformed
I will go and see my friend in her new house via the back garden this week though.
I was seeing my brother outdoors anyway as he's vulnerable (we are in a bubble)

So not much change here

HalfShrunkMoreToGo · 29/03/2021 08:44

I'm glad that we're starting to make moves towards a more normal summer. I don't think this will be the end and I can see the possibility of some dates moving out in the roadmap but it's nice to see some hope on the horizon.

Having said that I'm WFH all week while simultaneously entertaining a 6 yr old as no holiday club, so won't have the time or ability to actually meet up with anyone and take advantage of the relaxation of rules 😂

The nicer weather will be good though, I'll be able to kick DD out into the garden to bounce and run while I'm on Teams calls.

HazeyJaneII · 29/03/2021 08:45

I'm looking forward to a friend being able to come and have a coffee in the garden, and the kids breaking up for Easter.

My sister is abroad so I won't be able to see her for a long while and as ds is medically vulnerable and unvaccinated, we will still be having to exercise a bit of caution.

I'm really happy for others who are able to see their families.

TheJerkStore · 29/03/2021 08:55

I'm delighted.
We really need to start getting back to normal.
Infections, deaths and hospital admissions have fallen and we're vaccinating at a fantastic rate.
We can't stay locked away forever!!

I am medically vulnerable and a sP so yeah, it troubles me

Clinically vulnerable weee group 6 and were supposed to have been done weren't they? Can you chase this or book nationally or something?

I'm feeling relieved and hoping my mental health will improve with seeing people.

Wellbythebloodyhell · 29/03/2021 09:00

It's a happy household in my home today, the dc are beyond excited to get back to football training and I'm spending the day in the garden getting it tidied up to have a few girlfriends round at the weekend Grin

Waxonwaxoff0 · 29/03/2021 09:00

If you are medically vulnerable why haven't you been offered the vaccine yet?

CuthbertDibbleandGrubb · 29/03/2021 09:07

I've not looked at it in any special way. No walks across the local golf course any more though. Glad to see open air swimming pools open as two friends will I am sure be there and appreciating it.

TangerineCandyfloss · 29/03/2021 09:07

I'm excited to see my parents tomorrow, who I haven't seen since November and we normally see them every couple of weeks. Also a little nervous though.

Think it's just that not wanting the bubble to burst feeling.

Because asthma has been excluded unless hospitalised knows last two years. I’m not ignorant, please rest assured I’ve tried. And that the prospect of being ill as a single parent is always troubling particularly when it involves complications about children being cared elsewhere.

The highlight of my week will be Friday.
I will be seeing one side of my family and Grandchildren for the first time since they returned to England from Australia.
I will be restrained and won't be hugging anyone and the meet up is outdoors.
I can't promise not to have leaky eyes though.
I will be keeping a close eye on the statistics and the next stage for me will (hopefully) being able to re start my childcare business again.
I'd love to think this will be the beginning of the end. Fingers X.

Superstardjs · 29/03/2021 09:13

Not seeing anyone but mostly because I have spoken to them that sodding much I have no need to. And having done nothing for a year, I have no conversation anyway, so no hurry for me.

duffeldaisy · 29/03/2021 09:13

I'm feeling terrible today, just like a sitting duck for when the schools go back after Easter. Yes, rates have fallen dramatically and I'm so glad so many people have had a vaccine - most of my friends have now, for one reason or another. But I'm in the 40+ group and I am genuinely afraid of long Covid if my dh or I catch it - and children can get it too.

I know we're really lucky in this country to even have the prospect of vaccines in another month, but in countries where the waiting lists are longer they have bigger classrooms with smaller numbers of kids, have invested in air ventilation, or aren't rushing to see everyone over Easter.

It's been such a hard time of working more than ever from home, of home-schooling, of seeing no-one and going nowhere, and the thought of now getting it at this last moment is really unbearable.

IdblowJonSnow · 29/03/2021 09:20

I feel cautiously pleased but slightly anxious. Lucky enough to have had first vaccine but DH hasn't. Will be mtg up with family over the following 2 weekends (weather permitting).

It's all very well saying getting back to normal, I just don't know if I'll ever feel 'normal' again after the last year!

en0la · 29/03/2021 09:25

Great if Bez is involved, otherwise not bothered Grin

ThornAmongstRoses · 29/03/2021 09:27

I’m not worried.

I think infection numbers will rise, probably quite a lot, but I don’t think the death toll will so we shouldn’t be restricted anymore.

Infection numbers aren’t the issue anymore are they? As long as the NHS capacity remains stable and people aren’t dying then I think things will continue along the roadmap as planned.

The next few months will be the true test of whether the vaccines work.

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 29/03/2021 09:28

I am happy.

I will be seeing a vaccinated friend outside at a distance later. I am not jabbed myself yet but I think that’s low enough risk!

Souther · 29/03/2021 09:30

I dont really see such a big difference. It's just a something made up by the media to sell papers.
There isnt really that much of a difference in the rules.
I want to go to my families house not sit out in the cold.

TimeForLunch · 29/03/2021 09:30

Today's change is so minimal, just legalizing what has been going on for the last few weeks anyway! I'm looking forward to shops, gyms, etc. opening on the 12th though. At least that is only 2 weeks away now.

JustDanceAddict · 29/03/2021 09:45

Am happy as have now been jabbed!
Although tired as wasn’t comfortable in bed last night- couldn’t roll onto vaxxed arm as too tender & vom
Inducing.
Looking forward to some Covid-compliant plans w friends but still no hugging etc.
