4/5 Shock once in march DS had temp, then myself dh developed symptoms but no tests taking place then, over the course of winter dh and I both developed coughs at different times, then FIL tested positive and he's in our childcare bubble. DH then developed a temp- was negative, I developed cough a day later and was positive. Both front line keyworkers.

AvocadosBeforeMortgages · 10/02/2021 03:41

Zero

However, I wouldn't be able to afford to self isolate, so I've taken steps to avoid being told to - I haven't downloaded the app, wouldn't get tested (thankfully haven't had symptoms) and when mixing was allowed told friends not to name me to T&T.

Before anyone says anything, there's nothing selfish about needing to pay the rent. My income has been significantly reduced by lockdown, and will remain that way for the foreseeable future. I've had fuck all help from the government - I fell neatly through all the cracks of government support. Therefore I must cling, desperately, onto the remaining work that I do get.

I'm self employed so don't get sick pay - not even SSP. 75% of applications for the £500 grant are turned down, so it's not to be trusted - and even if I did get it, it wouldn't cover all my losses.

Fuck that.

None. Kids in school and nursery throughout. DP and I in work, high prevalence area. Minor miracle.

However, for various reasons we think there's a strong probability we actually had C19 at the end of Feb, but before testing instructions etc were in place. School has been a minor miracle though.

yearinyearout · 10/02/2021 06:19

None!

Dotinthecity · 10/02/2021 06:20

None of our family have had to isolate at all. I work as a TA in school and husband works outside the house too. We went out and about and in holiday when we were able to, including to pubs and restaurants. We don't shop online but visit the supermarket for food. We have the T&T App but have never been "pinged" and only know of one person who's had Covid.

cyclingtowardsbethlehem · 10/02/2021 06:21

Whoops, two miracles. Also amazed we've now done almost a year with no fever from DC2 who is continually snotty, normally. But I don't think that's a good sign for a developing immune system really.

Lifeispassingby · 10/02/2021 06:25

Between DH and I 6 times. Twice as contacts and the other times waiting for the at results as one or other of us was ill

PlugUgly1980 · 10/02/2021 06:31

Family of 4, we both WFH. When kids were is school DC2 had to isolate once as school bubble burst, but that's it.

defnotadomesticgoddess · 10/02/2021 06:36

As a family of 4 we have probably had to do it maybe 6 times since March. High temps or new coughs. Since testing has been available it’s been much better as test results have come through within 24 hrs so only had the odd day of isolation. Ah and husband got pinged once months ago so he had the full 10/14 days whatever the apps said.

GinJeanie · 10/02/2021 06:36

Three times. Once when we had it and twice following positive tests from a staff member then a student in our "bubble". Work in a special school

Goingcrazzy · 10/02/2021 08:44

4 times. Dd had it last term, ds nursery closed due to a positive case, dd again due to wraparound care positive case and now again since I have covid. Each time I had to isolate alongside the kids as a single parent. It's been horrendous.🥺

Frazzled2207 · 10/02/2021 08:48

Me never
One dc once
Other dc had to briefly twice while getting a test but both negative

AuntieMarys · 10/02/2021 08:53

None. Dh works in an essential industry where vovid rules are regularly breached, I go to the supermarket twice a week, we both used restaurants/bars/ salons/ gym when we could.
Never had symptoms or done a test.

Nerdygirl · 10/02/2021 09:10

...

middleager · 10/02/2021 09:14

Once, when my son caught Covid at school.

He had to isolate a total of six times between Sept to Dec because of so many cases at school.

BlindAssassin1 · 10/02/2021 10:01

Three times.

The first was before testing was up and running (when DP was the only one with symptoms) and the second time I tested negative and assume it was some other virus.

The last time me and DC2 tested positive. DC1 and DP didn't. If either of them come down with symptoms we all have to isolate again. This will probably crush us financially and kill my relationship. I want my vaccine asap, he is dithering whether to get it. Hmm

DirtyDancing · 10/02/2021 10:03

One child, once through cases at school

LolaSmiles · 10/02/2021 10:03

Countless times, from waiting for test results, to being a close contact, to having covid myself.

Tinty · 10/02/2021 10:11

None 4 working full time adults, two in supermarkets. I DC at school.

IndecentFeminist · 10/02/2021 10:24

None. Both key workers, me in a school and him out and about. Two kids in school, one in nursery.

rosierose10 · 10/02/2021 10:28

None

XenoBitch · 10/02/2021 12:09
