Family of 3 with a toddler in nursery. 5 times now- always due to someone in the household having symptoms. We’ve never had tested positive. My DS is 1 and we’ve had three tests for him now due to coughs. My husband and I are key workers so he has to go to nursery. I’m lucky that our tests are done by my workplace and I normally get them back within 24 hours but I hate my son having to have so many.

ds2 (at secondary) four times. The rest of us (WFH, student with online classes) none - but then ds2 was the only one who didn't catch it when DH brought it back from a (non covid) hospital appointment and passed it on to everyone else.

Kittytheteapot · 09/02/2021 18:38

Family of 6. 4 working, 1 at school. None of us have had to isolate, even when one of my son's teachers tested positive.

cheninblanc · 09/02/2021 18:38

None, worked for the nhs the whole way through, 2 teenagers including one at school in both closures. Not isolated once and we went out and really enjoyed our summer

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 09/02/2021 18:42

Once, but just while I was waiting for a test result.

Pastanred · 09/02/2021 18:45

Zero. 3 different schools, 1 has attended throughout.
That one school is currently shut due to a member of staff testing positive but that hasn't affected my household.

Oblomov21 · 09/02/2021 19:07

None.

wendz86 · 09/02/2021 19:12

AllMyPrettyOnes · 09/02/2021 19:55

Never had to thank god.

StarCourt · 09/02/2021 20:37

I've had to isolate 3 times and DD twice

ItisLikethis · 09/02/2021 20:40

3 three times. The last time having had a positive test result.

CarlottaValdez · 09/02/2021 20:41

None! Me, DH and a six year old.

DH hasn’t had to work outside the home but I have and DS has been at school when it was open.

CazM2012 · 09/02/2021 20:45

6 or 7 times I’ve lost count Sad 3 children who were full time primary school September-December, 1 part time nursery child, DH works in large factory (3000+ people per shift) most from school though.

MorvaanReed · 09/02/2021 20:55

Once, back in the early days, just after the first lock down. DH had what was probably an asthma flare up and coughed himself silly until increased inhalers sorted it (2 to 3 days).

Since there was no testing unless you were hospitalised, I can't guarantee I'm right and once we'd committed we couldn't really back out.

DS and I were already at home and we were well stocked, the only inconvenience was getting hold of a couple of prescriptions.

Stegosaurus11 · 09/02/2021 20:55

None. I personally don't know anyone who's had isolate or actually had the virus.

IndecentFeminist · 09/02/2021 21:00

None

PracticingPerson · 09/02/2021 21:04

Once, right back at the start.

Other than the one child in main school it would be almost impossible for us to need to as we have been so strict on 'outside, 2m, masks'. Plus I didn't get the app Grin

annlee3817 · 09/02/2021 21:32

Just the once, last day is tomorrow, I have covid, so wasn't from the app. DD five was in school before Christmas, but never had anyone in her school bubble test positive

Porcupineintherough · 09/02/2021 21:52
  1. Was positive 2 of these.
aquasword · 09/02/2021 23:37

None in our household - DH wfh, toddler at nursery, SAHM and a young adult wfh. Went out to lots of indoor venues when Tier system allowed it - museums, soft play, toddler classes, restaurants, theatre shows. Going for daily walks in London during lockdown, including busy parks. No symptoms, never been tested.

namechangetheworld · 09/02/2021 23:49

None, and we have a child at primary school. We've been very lucky so far.

gallbladderpain · 10/02/2021 00:06

I'm more baffled by those who have never needed to be tested. Your kids haven't had a cough or fever in an entire year !? How !? Or is that normal. I know my own DC has issues (this thread has magnified them massively for me!) but I thought it was fairly normal for children especially the younger ones to have constant coughs and fevers in winter ...no ?

MrsBennetsnerves · 10/02/2021 03:03

Three times.

March - sick with possible Covid. No test available.
May - started getting similar but milder symptoms again, ZOE app sent me for a test which was positive. Possibly still shedding old virus but I didn't know that then.
Dec - waiting for home test results. Both negative so ended isolation.
