We've had to 2 times

What about you?

A few days in September when waiting for a DCs test result
10 days from end of term until Boxing Day due to a COVID case in DCs class (well, only the DC had to but we did too)
And currently waiting for a test result for DH but hopefully will only be a day if negative

IrishMamaMia · 09/02/2021 15:47

We've had to three times. Cold type illness in the family in September, pre-school child before Christmas and then a nursery bubble closure which led to us all getting (mild) Covid. Hopefully that's it for awhile.

NeverWillIEver · 09/02/2021 15:47

Once.

From March 2020 to date.

Boobahs · 09/02/2021 15:48

Once when a colleague at school tested positive. Once when my 4 year old had to because of a case in his class. Once when a child in my class at school tested positive. Then I went back for 3 days and my OH tested positive and it spread through our house so we're currently self isolating now.

It's a bloody nightmare.

AngelsWithSilverWings · 09/02/2021 15:49

Once for two weeks because DD was due to have surgery. Annoyingly the hospital cut the quarantine time down to 3 days 4 days before the date of her surgery.

Second was because I went to a funeral and one of the guests I was sitting next to tested positive two days later. I wasn't contacted by test and trace but isolated for 10 days from the date of the funeral.

Strangely not one person in the family got Covid after that funeral even my 75 year old parents who had shared a car with the person who tested positive. I was amazed when they tested negative.

Iamclearlyamug · 09/02/2021 15:51

Twice in a bloody month - I’m halfway through my second right now. My boss tested positive a couple of weeks ago so I had to self isolate then. Didn’t get any symptoms so went back to work on the Monday, got tested on the Friday because of a headache and tested positive on Saturday morning 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️ FML

EgSk · 09/02/2021 15:56

Only once because I came down with a cough . Luckily test was negative.

WalkingOnStarshine · 09/02/2021 15:57

We're DH, toddler and I - all at work or in childcare. We've luckily not had to isolate at all.

lucywho123 · 09/02/2021 15:58

Zero times - and Ive been working throughout

ShowOfHands · 09/02/2021 15:59

@Iamclearlyamug our twice in a month was consecutive so we did 28 days. It was hard work!

BlackeyedSusan · 09/02/2021 16:01

At least 9 times. Some of those are only for a couple of times waiting for a test.

needadvice54321 · 09/02/2021 16:06

Twice - once for DS testing positive second time whilst waiting for test results for me. Both within the last 6 weeks - feel quite lucky that we'd managed to avoid isolating the previous 9 months since this all began

teenagetantrums · 09/02/2021 16:07

Never. I don't have the app. Colleagues at work tested positive but because we wear ppe we don't have to isolate. If we did there would be no one to care for the residents.
We don't have any children at school though.

emmathedilemma · 09/02/2021 16:07

None but then i've been working from home alone, haven't set foot on public transport, and mostly do my shopping online. The gym was the highest risk place I went when it was open. Rates in my area have also been relatively low compared to other parts of the country.

Flibbertygibbertywoo · 09/02/2021 16:08

Once, pointlessly, in the first few weeks of lockdown one. My son had recurrent bacterial tonsillitis and a raging temperature, I called the GP for a prescription (we needed them monthly at that point, his tonsils were quietly mouldering and his surgery had just been cancelled) and were told to isolate for 2 weeks because of his temperature. I was really annoyed with this as it was clearly tonsillitis and the locum GP was incredibly rude.

Thank goodness for kind neighbours picking up his prescription.

Devlesko · 09/02/2021 16:09

None of my family have, out of three 5 households, luckily.

Muskox · 09/02/2021 16:09

DC2 - once.

Me, DH, DC1 and DC3 - zero.

TrufflyPig · 09/02/2021 16:10

Currently on fourth isolation period. Its really disruptive but I understand why it has to be this way.

FrancesHaHa · 09/02/2021 16:16

Once when I had Covid. DD 3 times so far

MrsL2016 · 09/02/2021 16:16

Once at the very start in March 2020 because DS had a temp and some sickness. No tests at that point so just rode it out.

Lauren83 · 09/02/2021 16:18

Once, the kids as they had an outbreak at nursery, we then tested positive so had to isolate which extended theirs to 3 weeks

megletthesecond · 09/02/2021 16:20

Unless waiting 24hrs for a paranoid test result counts as isolating, in which case once. I don't have the app and have only been to supermarkets when quiet. I've not had calls from school for the dc's to isolate thank goodness.

tinytemper66 · 09/02/2021 16:22

...

Gliblet · 09/02/2021 16:23

DS once (got the notification on the first day of the Christmas holidays and swore A LOT). DH and I haven't had to yet, but he works outdoors with no close contact with others and I can do my job from home.

yikesanotherbooboo · 09/02/2021 16:27

We all stayed in for 24 hours waiting for a test result ; otherwise no isolation spells
