Regret having vaccine

Zem74 · 09/02/2021 08:35

Had my vaccine last week, govt classes me as CEV, consultant however said no need to shield as moderate risk, thought I’d be put in group 6 for vaccine rollout.
Got put in with group 4 and was unsure whether to have it or not, but after persuasion from family I did, now I feel full of regret like I’ve made a terrible mistake
I’ll get shot down on here for saying this, but I’ve since read things on social media and the internet that’s making me really panic about how safe this vaccine is/ whether it’s part of a sinister plan etc and I feel so scared that I’ve voluntarily just got myself jabbed with it without thinking it through enoughSad
I’m a mother to young children and these worries are keeping me awake at night since Sad

As your mental health is suffering severely enough to keep you awake at night I urge you to make contact with your GP.

MakeWorkYourNewFavourite · 09/02/2021 08:52

@Nellodee, why tell someone to get a grip? What does that achieve? You've taken some time out if your day to be rude to someone on the Internet? Feel big and clever, do you? Someone's in clear distress and you think how's the time to spew a bit of vitriol at them? I don't understand people like you. Go ahead and give some robust advice, but don't be vile.

mytwocats · 09/02/2021 08:52

ask yourself this, have you had injections for things in your life before? eg, polio, mumps,& all the other things that put you in a very very safe place,if you have, then look on the bright side you are still here, thanks to some very clever scietists,& this is just the same,no more no less.

DinosaurDiana · 09/02/2021 08:55

Would you say that you’re generally an anxious person ?
This seems like an overreaction.

lljkk · 09/02/2021 08:56

How do you normally tell apart the reliable information from the sheer ridiculous nonsense stories that you can find online, OP?

Lotusmonster · 09/02/2021 08:57

Please consider having your post taken down OP. You have no need to worry, BUT if your anxiety somehow were to persuade even one other person to not take up the vaccine and that person were seriously ill with CV or died then your post is bad news. Please take this down.

Saoirse7 · 09/02/2021 08:58

With respect, what sinister plan do you think it is?

Needsmustnow · 09/02/2021 09:00

I’ve since read things on social media and the internet that’s making me really panic about how safe this vaccine is/ whether it’s part of a sinister plan etc

A sinister plan to do what?

mytwocats · 09/02/2021 09:00

you are still here from other vaccines you have had through your life, mumps, polio, etc, this one is just the same,it stops you getting very poorly, unless you want to be that is,

Ch3rish · 09/02/2021 09:00

Hmmm, anti vax bot or a bit gullible, I can't decide but either way every right thinking person knows there is no sinister plan, apply some common sense

DoubleTweenQueen · 09/02/2021 09:03

@Zem74 Try to focus on the positive aspect that you are now very much less likely to die from Covid, and leave your children without their lovely mum.

Write down your fears and work through finding the facts to dispel them. Write down also the positives of being better protected now, as in how it will affect your life.

Find your favourite and fun things to do, to focus your energy on relaxation and enjoying your life.

Please keep away from SM (& a fair bit of the media) and only look at sites of reputable medical and scientific information.

Congratulations on having your immunisation - make sure you have your booster! Flowers

oneglassandpuzzled · 09/02/2021 09:04

Millions of people around the world have had the vaccines now. Where is the evidence of a large number of them having been damaged? Some, like my mother, had first jabs before Christmas, nearly two months ago. Still alive. Still kicking. At 83 and CEV.

MyVikingLife · 09/02/2021 09:05

Omg 🙄

LunaLula83 · 09/02/2021 09:05

Kindly piss off! You're spreading fear yourself.

MyVikingLife · 09/02/2021 09:07

Actually OP on second thoughts you are probably right, and THEY have taken over your brain function already.

Martinisarebetterdirty · 09/02/2021 09:07

This might help OP, we have vaccinated our entire pool of healthcare workers, why on earth would anyone do this if it wasn’t completely safe. These are the people we all need to keep us all safe and well.

I hope you find something to reassure you. I think you’ve made the right call in having it. Flowers

lightand · 09/02/2021 09:09

It is very weird how some threads go one way and some go another.

I have just been on another thread where people in the health profession are indeed saying lots of health professionals have refused the jab.

op, I am a Christian. I will pray that you and your family are safe.

TableFlowerss · 09/02/2021 09:09

@GeorgeMichaelsEspadrille

A sinister plan?

Really? Or are you just trying to make people question fear that they will regret their decision too?

What are you expecting to get from posting this?

This!

This thread should be deleted. Speak to you doctor if you’re that scared. Don’t come on here in the middle on a pandemic umming and arrring and potentially frightening other people!!!

Bananalanacake · 09/02/2021 09:09

looking forward to mine but at 44 and a SAHM I'll have a long wait

ppeatfruit · 09/02/2021 09:10

The internet is a double edged sword , why anyone gets their jollies from posting such fake news is a mystery to me. I'm very lucky ( have no underlying problems but have just turned 70) I was offered and took the vaccine (no side effects at all).

PensionsYes · 09/02/2021 09:10

Who here gets a thrill from being so patronising to someone who is obviously struggling? Do you like kicking people when they’re down? Pathetic.

OP it’s good to question things... But unless you have had an allergic reaction then there is a huge chance you’ll be absolutely fine. Ten millionish Brits have now had a vaccine, so if there had been a major issue - we would have heard about it.

If anxiety is a regular issue the doctor can refer you for a great anxiety programme. Hope you’re doing okay and aren’t taking the bullies on here to heart.

DoubleTweenQueen · 09/02/2021 09:11

A large number of health 'professionals' have also been reading the rubbish on the web Hmm

SelkieQualia · 09/02/2021 09:11

The vaccine has risks. Any medical thing does.

The risks of complcations from catching covid are thousands to millions of times higher.

Magicpaintbrush · 09/02/2021 09:12

Look at this logically OP. What is the one thing that makes all governments the world over tick? The one thing they all revolve around? MONEY. There is no logical reason why every government around the world would collude with each other to invent a pandemic when the result is the annihilation of their economies. No government on planet earth would deliberately wreck it's own economy - try and think of a single reason why any government would willingly wreck their own economy - there is zero.

Secondly the idea that all governments would collude with each other in a conspiracy - plenty of them don't get along let alone trust each other. There is no way, for example, that the USA would collude with Russia or Iran for example, it simply wouldn't happen.

Thirdly - in order to make such a conspiracy work you would have to get every person in the NHS to agree to collude with you -every single one. There is simply no way. You could never get all of them on board with such a wicked thing - I doubt you could get any quite frankly. Thousands upon thousands of doctors, nurses, surgeons, ICU staff all in on some massive conspiracy??? Absolutely no way.

Fourth - the vaccine manufacturers. The same as above with the NHS, you would have to have every person working for every vaccine manufacturer world wide to be in on this apparent conspiracy - that's a lot of people, and just couldn't happen.

Fifth - there are plenty of nutty conspiracy theorists out there - this we know. And plenty of unintelligent people amongst them. People who want to stick two fingers up at who ever is telling them what to do and would rather come up with idiotic conspiracy theories than actually engage their brain. If you re listening to these people then you need to give your head a wobble. There are some absolute dickheads out there spouting total bollocks - think for yourself.

TheQueef · 09/02/2021 09:13

Vaccines have risks covid has more.
Is it queue jumping guilt or genuine fear of side effects?
