I expect the minute anythings relaxed, even the tiniest amount, we'll have the 2nd homeowners descending here in Pembs.. just as they did before Christmas. Sad

HauntedPencil · 16/02/2021 22:09

He was quite cautious the first time but after the firebreak it was crazy -I think he'll go back to a three week cycle again - that was quite good as you'd tend to get something every few weeks to look forward to fingers crossed.

Sadik · 16/02/2021 22:11

I'm in Pembs and a lot of them are here already Jellykat

When they open the pubs, A and E will be filled with idiots again. So you can kind of understand the thinking. But it really is not fair the overwhelming majority of people will be happy just to have a meal out with a drink in nice surroundings. I resent the fact that we are being punished for a few idiots, who will get bladdered, break social distancing and spoil it for everyone else.
Jellykat · 16/02/2021 22:18

Oh FGS seriously Sadik? .. I've only been into Newport once a week, and its pretty empty, but now you mention it i did walk past a family i didn't recognise on Weds Angry. Selfish bastards!

justasking111 · 16/02/2021 22:22

They are not staying around here, plenty of people here would just pick up the phone and call the police which has been well reported in the past on local groups on FB. I do not know what is happening in other parts of N Wales, someone did say our local Tesco had a lot of them in on Thursday evening, shopping for food and talking about their visit to N Wales.

Jellykat · 16/02/2021 22:24

BTW my 79 yr old mum had a call from the GP yesterday, to book her jab appt at last! They said they were a bit behind because the practice covers 2 surgeries and theres been some communication complications.. Confused

Haywire · 17/02/2021 07:59

@CeeJay81 it's crazy our cases are rising now in Powyswhen everyone else's are dropping. I heard that it is workplace outbreaks near me.

Hoping that the Easter self-catering rumours are just that for all of UK as that I have 2 weeks in Scotland booked (moved from last Easter) no way I want to go if everything closed/no-one wants us there but owners won't let us re-arrange until things clearer.

Hope we get some news on rest of primary this week. Does anyone think we might get extended household bubbles back Friday? I am doubtful think it will be rule of 4 outside maybe?

CeeJay81 · 17/02/2021 08:10

Oh dear, wondered where the cases were coming from, don't know of many round here but that doesn't mean they aren't there.

From what Nicola said yesterday it doesn't sound like Scotland will be opening up for Easter but once that's confirmed I'm sure you'll be able to move your accommodation. I've got a flat in Edinburgh booked for July, so I'm hoping that we can go then.

Haywire · 17/02/2021 09:13

Fingers crossed that July will be fine @CeeJay81 and does sound like NS will make announcement next week re Scottish road map.

Depressing having to move another trip but if we have any leeway to travel I would go and see my parents in England.

Like everyone wanting restrictions lifted so we can see family and friends but concerned they are not lifted to quickly and undo everything that has been gained.

Stopyourhavering64 · 18/02/2021 01:39

I've just received text from Betsi Cadwaladr to receive 2nd Pfizer vaccine next week! ( got first dose just before Christmas- I'm clinically extremely vulnerable and front line staff but having to work from home at the moment) delighted to get this jab, although will still need to shield until at least 31st March
Dh is waiting for his appointment now and hoping will get first dose by easter

user1493494961 · 18/02/2021 07:48

Stopyourhavering - That's great news 're. your second vaccine. I'm North Wales and had my first (Pfizer) last week, I was told about 11 weeks for the second but said could be earlier as they are ahead of schedule.

Pandapotato · 18/02/2021 09:10

I’m bcuhb too and had my second dose this week - about 6 weeks after the first. Much sooner than I expected, but, obviously, very pleased to have it.

Eagerly awaiting today’s leaks of tomorrow’s announcements!

HauntedPencil · 18/02/2021 10:54

So good to hear people getting their 2nd doses.

I haven't seen any leaks yet! Normally they leak more stuff early in the morning so Mark can do his media round and I bet every in the background praying he dosent drop a clanger

Frazzled2207 · 18/02/2021 10:59

Brilliant about 2nd doses .I'm in england but my parents are in north wales and had 1st dose of pfizer 2 weeks ago and it would be great if they didn't have to wait until late april.

DdraigGoch · 18/02/2021 12:48

17/22 counties are now below 100 cases per 100k. Of the remaining five, the highest is Flintshire with 126.8

We're a long way from when some areas were seeing 1,000 cases per 100k. I wouldn't expect much unlocking though until cases are half what they are now.

Positive figures again but I do wonder if it's time we move away from that to purely hospitalisation and death figures. Case figures mean little especially if vaccinations are reducing the effects of it anyway.

Also am I right in thinking that the rolling 7 day rate published is from a few days ago so as of today the actual case rate is likely to be even lower? Its been a while since I looked in depth at the statistics.

HauntedPencil · 18/02/2021 13:00

It's from 5 days previous as reported cases can be from the past few days - so some of tomorrow's will probably be for today etc

Yes probably - deaths are coming down quite well too I always find it harder to get the hospital figure but I think that's what's holding things back as such - still very busy but much improved I think. He'll give us slides tomorrow?

I think - yet another road map!

tinytemper66 · 18/02/2021 15:24

Haven't seen any leaks. Perhaps it is too early and they are still meeting.

AlohaMolly · 18/02/2021 18:02

My DP is 40 this year and no relevant underlying health conditions... has had a text today offering him a date for the vaccine next week! We’re in Betsi Cadwaladr area, can anyone figure out why he’d be eligible?

ImAllOut · 18/02/2021 18:24

Maybe it's an error like the man who they thought was 6cm Grin
