@tinytemper66 that’s brilliant! My DH has his second today and I have mine next week.
I’m beginning to feel like we are slowly creeping back towards normality. Whatever that will end up looking like!

Doilooklikeatourist · 02/06/2021 20:19

Had my second jab last Wednesday, (AZ ) no side effects at all !
Was around 9 weeks after the first
DH awaiting his letter

Hoping things are getting back to normal , the traffic was certainly back to normal heading down to the coast at the weekend

I’m surprised - I thought that they’d feel compelled to follow the rest of the U.K. and allow indoor mixing in private homes, but it looks like that’s not up for review until the next three weeks.

It's getting ridiculous. I know people who are booking holiday homes in England so that two families can see each other. (And an awful lot who are just no longer complying.)
Gracesquirrel · 04/06/2021 11:38

I'm confused 110APiccadily 2 families can already see each other indoors if they are an extended household - the level 1 regulations now allow for 2 extended households PLUS a third if thats a single adult or single adult carer (plus the cared for individuals). If memory serves theres no limit on how large the families are provided that they all live together in the same household (guidance is being updated at the moment so can't look it up).

110APiccadilly · 04/06/2021 12:40

@Gracesquirrel the people I know who are booking holiday homes in England want to see another family who is not in their extended household.

19 year old DD has a vaccine letter (for next Sunday)! They're really zipping through now :)

ArosGartref · 05/06/2021 23:55

I definitely need a new username but nothing is inspiring me.

Lupinhere37 · 02/07/2021 07:09

Thought I’d check in on my fellow Welsh mumsnetters.
How are things in your areas? Bubbles bursting in school now; had an email today saying they may take us to online learning for the rest of term!
One year group fully closed and apparently teachers unwell too, according to the school.
Two neighbouring comp schools have also had cases as well.
Starting to feel quite scary.

In other news, my DD has been unwell. Hospital waiting lists are unreal, even to see a private specialist, there were waits of three months. Very lucky to have health insurance through work and so we’ve had to travel over the border for health care, which is a worry in itself, as cases high over the border now too.

tinytemper66 · 02/07/2021 08:46

We have had cases in school and on year group out. Quite nervous as we have done so well with our precautions in school. Roll on two weeks.

QuiltedBear · 02/07/2021 08:51

Last week my toddler had to self-isolate after contact at nursery, and I had to self-isolate after contact at work. Both fine, but these were our first contacts of the pandemic despite being at work (hospital admin) and nursery the whole time.

Lupinhere37 · 02/07/2021 20:38

@tinytemper66 our school had been doing so well too. We now know quite a few teens from different schools either isolating as close contacts or actually with positive PCRs.

Everyone is just so fed up now. The teachers look broken and so do the kids!

Hopefully things won’t get any worse in your school.

DdraigGoch · 02/07/2021 22:51

The whole of Rhyl High School is off.

The new digital vaccination passport which should hopefully mean quarantine-free travel is supposed to be on the NHS app for English residents. What about us?

Lupinhere37 · 02/07/2021 23:43

My DH is in a right rage about the digital passport. He had both his vaccinations in England, as he had an NHS staff letter, which instructed him to attend over the border. But now the app process isn’t working for him because we’re registered with a Welsh Health Board.
Can’t say I understand it all but hoping it gets sorted soon. The lack of consistency is really irritating!

hellswelshy · 03/07/2021 00:28

I've got my digital passport via NHS Wales, so maybe depends on area? Try to set up a log in, you need your NHS log in, passport or photo id. Me & DH did ours, got confirmed within 48 hrs.

thevassal · 03/07/2021 15:32

I got my vaccine passport within about an hour which is pretty good because it said could take up to a week. Made me laugh doing the cheesy video bit though.

Slightly off topic but I was on a different thread (about best national anthems - obvs we all know the answer to that Grin) and then someone brought up the whole union jack banner in the new cardiff central govt offices...given how popular these wales covid threads have been it made me wonder why there is a craicnet (for ireland) and a scotsnet topics but no walesnet/cymnet/draignet? (other names considered!) Seems a bit unfair! Perhaps it wouldn't have the most traffic in the world but neither do a lot of the smaller topic boards. What do others think?

Lupinhere37 · 03/07/2021 17:08

@thevassal That’s a very good point. I found this page on the COVID board and thought I’d join in but I’ve never looked to see if there is something else for us as well.
I’ve enjoyed checking in on this over recent months; it’s provided some reassurance and a sense of solidarity.
I’m afraid my Welsh speaking is almost non-existent though, so not sure I’d be very authentic. Although I am very much Welsh, I might add!

110APiccadilly · 03/07/2021 17:14

@thevassal I'd wondered why there's no Cymnet. Would be nice to have one.

Oneandanotherone · 03/07/2021 18:26

Am I the only one that thinks cymnet sounds a bit questionable Wink

Lupinhere37 · 03/07/2021 19:17

@Oneandanotherone no….you’re not the only oneGrin

CeeJay81 · 03/07/2021 19:28

We've been fairly fortunate here through this pandemic but finally our high school has a bubble burst. It's not my ds's but We are going away the first week of the school holidays and here's me wondering if more bubbles will burst in the last 2 weeks of school. Almost tempted to take him out a week early.

110APiccadilly · 03/07/2021 20:04

My mind is clearly on a higher plane Grin. But now it's been pointed out, um, yes, maybe not Cymnet.

Gracesquirrel · 04/07/2021 11:21

I'd be keen on a Welsh subforum - whilst a lot of stuff on the main boards is equally relevent no matter what part of the UK you live there are some topics uniquely Welsh and as the pandemic has proved we aren't always in lockstep with the other home nations. I work closely with the health board for example and in Wales we have some very different things going on to NHS England and Scotland - not just free prescriptions. I find that if I do ever post anything about NHS Wales (not just here facebook & health related forums too) then some of the helpful advice isn't helpful at all because it doesn't apply in Wales and I then have to explain that over and over again. It would be lovely to NOT have to keep explaining the differences in so many things.

Lupinhere37 · 04/07/2021 13:12

@Gracesquirrel I completely agree. The pandemic has totally highlighted the differences in healthcare, education, government, etc, etc. It’s bad enough constant explaining in real life, without having to type it out on here!
