She lAughed and told me how she's been working from home kids in school and she's nhs so that matters..! Laughed and congratulated me how well I've done ✅ I'm fucking livid quite frankly. Am
I the only school abiding by the rules

We are hardly 'in this together' if you are working from home and send you children to school.

No, we are hardly "in this together" if you are whining about other people doing their best. It is SO fucking tedious.

RosesAndLemonade · 31/01/2021 23:33

I'm a key worker but I'm working in school as I teach SEN and we see open. My DD stays at home because her school only take 2x key worker family kids so jts a bit shit.
But if I was doing my key worker job at home, I wouldn't be able to also look after her. I do some WFH stuff as well but that's all calls to parents, review meetings, meetings with other education staff, social workers etc. They're all confidential meetings with personal info about kids and families so I have to shut myself in a quiet room away from anyone to maintain confidentiality. So If my husband didn't work at home I would have to use my key worker place even though I was working at home. I would imagine that this is the same for medical staff as that's all dealing with confidential patient related stuff.

I think you've judged very harshly and probably wrongly and I'm a tad concerned at what gets you shook. But I'm not one to judge on that - whatever floats your boat hey!

Key workers who are working from home are entitled to places. I have a full time full on job and am working from home, but not a key worker, so my kids are at home. It's quite simple.

PurpleRainDancer · 31/01/2021 23:41

'Shook Your World'?
For F*cks sake it doesn't take much does it OP? Hmm

Viviennemary · 31/01/2021 23:41

That's cheeky. Report her.

WhenAWrenVisits · 31/01/2021 23:42

Ffs you haven’t been forced into homeschooling since March 2020. Schools have been open. You’ve been homeschooling a few weeks. Your jealous of an nhs worker. Bet you clap for her on Thursdays too. I want my healthcare workers undistracted, not exhausted and not trying to homeschool whilst they try to cure me of illnesses. Is that alright with you? Leave her alone

JustCallMeTheGreatest · 31/01/2021 23:42

In my defence, I’ve had a lot of red wine and eaten a lot of carrot & swede mash this evening.
I have no regrets. In this moment in time, the whole world is full of fucking nutbags and I shall continue to berate innocent people.

It was my mistake, I do apologise.

Scbchl · 31/01/2021 23:52

Quaagars · 31/01/2021 23:53

Confused

For what? If she's entitled to a space?

Scbchl · 31/01/2021 23:53

Quaagars · 31/01/2021 23:54

Same

Jemra · 31/01/2021 23:54

The thing is that other kids in the school will have parents who have to go out to work in essential roles. And if there is a covid case in their bubble, the.bubble closes and those essential workers cannot.do their essential job at all because they can't work from home. The home workers just have to isolate and have the inconvenience of having the kids at home. The more kids in the bubble, the more likely.this is to happen.

That's why it's irresponsible in my view to send your kid to school unless you really really have to at the moment. In most cases that means if theres a parent at home you have to suck it up and do the home schooling/working shit show that the rest of us are living through. In some cases maybe not (eg, a psychotherapist doing online appointments all day with small children at home and no other parent at home).

Iremembertheelderlykoreanlady · 31/01/2021 23:56

It was my mistake, I do apologise.

Apology accepted.

Look, it's a shit time. We've all had enough and sometimes the easiest thing to do is to get pissed off (or just pissed) and rant at randoms on the internet. We are only human, OP included.

No one is perfect and we are not going to agree on everything.

Here, everyone have some Wine and Cake

worriedandannoyed · 01/02/2021 00:00

@MrsMercedes

how could she work if her kids were under her feet let alone home school them?

are you jealous op??

The same way the rest of us have worked at home while home schooling!
katy1213 · 01/02/2021 00:02

Hope you had a lie down and some strong, sweet tea.

They aren’t at least not in Scotland. I’m a Keyworker but working from home so place for my kid. It’s not simple.

Do you know who makes amazing sweet tea? Nurses. Key workers innit !
H2O2 · 01/02/2021 00:15

If that's all it takes to shake your world I'd happily swap places with you.

Shook your world... You'd be better off shaking your keyboard.

baroqueandblue · 01/02/2021 00:17

If that shook your world you really need to get out more.

Even if it is just within the rules.

MrsMercedes · 01/02/2021 00:26

@callistography

Why should she, her NHS job may mean it’s not appropriate for kids to be present. Is that really difficult to comprehend?

Other posters have already elaborated on that...
