If I hear ‘because of covid’ one more time!!!!!

Why is this the new thing that EVERYBODY uses as the reason that things can’t be done, it’s totally overused. Or am I being super sensitive?

I rang dominos a few days ago to try and get some meat put on a vegan base because whilst DC has dairy allergy I still like meat..

The response: ‘no, I can’t do that because of covid we’re not taking orders over the phone..’

I didn’t want to order over the phone, I just wanted to call and for them to swap a topping or two, pizza is same price.

She laughed said that’s not my problem I can’t change the rules bye.

It’s becoming part of every interaction I have, something is ‘because of covid’ when in actual fact covid hasn’t changed what I’m asking for for the logistics of it.

Has anyone else heard anyone say something obscure.. ‘because of covid’?

Was due my last check up this month after cancer nearly 5 years ago. Wouldn’t put money on it, tbh.

I agree completely OP - some of them are beyond ridiculous. After lockdown 1 I was aware my eyes had changed and tried to book an eye-test I was told no, due to CV19. I even pointed out that I was worried about driving and they said they couldn't do it. So I tweeted Boots and said they were increasing risks of accidents by not doing eye tests, especially as I knew I'd need to take DS to Uni (face to face med course). Funny enough they then found they could do an eye test.

The mad thing is the NHS health professional cannot see you "Due to Covid", but the private ones can. How strange. They should look into money repelling Covid perhaps, might be something in it.

It is overused. I recall a post on MN where a lady went to a café with her husband. She wanted a tea and he wanted a coffee. They were told "no, because of Covid", yet they could order separately and still have what they wanted. Was utterly baffling!

We call it :

Covid PPE = Covid Piss Poor Excuse.

Just wait. Covid is the excuse hiding Brexit. And when Covid has gone, Brexit will be the reason...

We are awaiting some new windows. We have been told the delivery is delayed “because of COVID”.

If i hear cos of rona much more i will hurt someone. I'm in Aus, all cases in our state are from return travellers in hotel quarantine. Yet Rona still used to cancel shit or excuse for slow, shit service
Cos of Rona, we told no NYE fireworks yet told go to the many bars and cafes in city.

Brewery Christmas lights, a tradition in our state's city, cancelled cos Rona - that's what was announced to public, 3 weeks later the brewery was sold. So not corona, just used as the excuse cos it caused less backlash from public.

Australia day today, again no fireworks cos Rona supposedly, yet come to our traditional smoking ceremonies, markets and bars cafes

Slow lost packages, Rona fault

Slow reply from business on questions, Rona at fault again.

There is still one old cranky woman in town who still berates others for ignoring the faded and almost gone arrows in shops.

Even when cases go to nothing it's still used as the great get out if it card and is now just coming off as punishment by our state
