What tougher measures will we face?

Maybe they could combine Pointless with the press conference?

I bet Richard Osman knows more than your average Conservative MP.

@AintPageantMaterial

I don’t think Glastonbury being cancelled is necessarily another indicator that we are in this for a while yet though. The organisers were unable to obtain insurance which would allow them to refund tickets and recoup other costs if cancellation became necessary so they were not able to go ahead. This is likely to happen in all sorts of areas. The insurance industry will not open its eyes up to further massive losses.
We were looking at holiday insurance yesterday in case we book for 2022. None of the policies we saw cover Covid related cancellation except for a positive test result which stops you going. This is going to be a long process.

'I'd be weeping into my gin if I were her after Piers Morgan tore her apart yesterday morning'

He doesn't tear anyone apart. He just makes a tit of himself on a daily basis by being the most amateurish 'interviewer' on telly. Morgan seems to think he's like Paxman or Andrew Neil when in fact his hysteria shouty style of questioning is more like something off Jezza Kyle. Susanna Reid sitting there like a nodding dog, what a pair of egotistical prats.

Yes. I'm sick of the pair of them.
claptrapflapjack · 21/01/2021 16:02
 • sorry for allowing Christmas mixing
 • sorry for allowing the Kent variant to spread like wildfire for weeks on end
 • sorry for not enforcing the law on face coverings

-sorry for telling the police to focus on making sure no-one went for a little drive for a long walk - it is actually under the Guidance, and always has been. sorry for terrorising you all about harmless open-air walks.

LizFlowers · 21/01/2021 16:02

I doubt the announcement will tell us anything new.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 21/01/2021 16:03

North East and Yorkshire have had vaccines cut because we have vaccinated more than other areas. So we are being penalised for having amore efficient vaccination programme.

@GetOffYourHighHorse - absolutely. It gets embarrassing. He sounds so stupid. He has absolutely no idea what he’s talking about half the time. That other idiot sat next to him, insisting it was the governments fault and theirs only that people mixed in Christmas Day 🙄. Like anyone that took the risk to mix would have cancelled Christmas if the government had said they couldn’t!
BiggerBoat1 · 21/01/2021 16:04

Urg vile woman. Odds on she'll just blame us all for not following the rules and then dodge all the questions from journos.

redfairylights · 21/01/2021 16:04
 • sorry for threatening legal action to force London schools to stay open when covid was spreading like wildfire through them
 • sorry for making sure all the kids went back to school for one day after Christmas
SchadenfreudePersonified · 21/01/2021 16:07
@GetOffYourHighHorse Amen to that. How bad have things got if we are praising Piers Morgan? Patting him on the back for "destroying" cabinet members and government officials as if he is some kind of beacon of truth and not a lying weasel with a disgusting track record of unethical journalism. Can you tell I don't like him very much!
One of the dreadful things about COVID is thatIfound my self agreeing with him at one point.

That's how bad things are . . .

likeamillpond · 21/01/2021 16:07

Always a bit boring when PP is on
Bordom Central would be
Pritti Patel
Rush I Sunak
and the Transport Minister

Oh if it's PP, then it will be all about how we aren't allowed to drive for exercise. That is her take after analysing the science about virus transmission - it is all occurring on countryside and coastal walks (you are especially at risk if you have driven 5 miles to get there).

No need to enforce the law on face coverings - it just upsets the poor police whose job it would be, and they are happier and doing sterling work in the country/coastal car parks.

DfEisashambles · 21/01/2021 16:13

I’m actually genuinely curious about this. Do some people think the reported test result are the real figures for infections?

Couldn't have put it better myself.

All respect for him went out the window months ago. Now I just switch off.

What's even worse is he hates trump now and cannot see the similarities between them - it's about ratings.

He says when interviews happen "his" viewers are being denied the information.

The complete twat doesn't seem to realise we all have remotes and can change channel to seek information we want to hear.

peak2021 · 21/01/2021 16:27

@the80sweregreat I disagree with your assessment. Richard Osman knows more than your average Conservative MP.

peak2021 · 21/01/2021 16:28

Name- Priti Patel
Occupation- bully (alleged)
Specialist subject: Not answering the question.

threecee · 21/01/2021 16:31

why are you desperate to hear from this woman ?

threecee · 21/01/2021 16:32

Allegra that is.

itsgettingweird · 21/01/2021 16:34

What channel is it on if I can bear to listen to her?!

soggyandwet · 21/01/2021 16:35

@threecee

why are you desperate to hear from this woman ?
Maybe because we hope she'll resign obviously I know that won't happen
EnglishGirlApproximately · 21/01/2021 16:36

Matt Hancock told a party constituency call that the vaccine may not work effectively on the SA strain. This was recorded by a colleague who was on the call and shared in an industry wide group. I'm wondering if the call could be around even stricter measures on international travel.

borageforager · 21/01/2021 16:39

It won’t be anything significant if it’s PP. they try to keep her under wraps as she can’t appear in public without making an error. Last time didn’t she say we could leave the house for recreation, which actually isn’t in the rules (just exercise is).

Piers Morgan the man who went on holiday to Antigua during the Christmas holidays and went to France in the summer.

Malbecky · 21/01/2021 16:45

Where is it?!

I can't see it on BBC or any of the news channels 🤔
