Huge sympathies - it’s very hard and lack of consistency across schools, workplaces etc doesn’t help

Wilma55 · 19/01/2021 16:12

1610 deaths

Wilma55 · 19/01/2021 16:12

33355 new cases

LickEmbysmiling · 19/01/2021 16:17

High deaths, much lower infections 33355

Monkeytennis97 · 19/01/2021 16:18

Good news re infections

Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum · 19/01/2021 16:18

@Wilma55

1610 deaths
Shock
MarshaBradyo · 19/01/2021 16:19

This may be Christmas mixing period for deaths?

Good re cases

Firefliess · 19/01/2021 16:20

Only 204,076 vaccinated yesterday - that's a drop again on the weekend, and had hoped the weekend drops were just because it was weekend. What's happened with these new vaccination centres?

Monkeytennis97 · 19/01/2021 16:20

Sorry I think my post may come across as crass.

Obviously hideous death numbers. Sadly we all knew this was coming with the very high infection rates around 3/4 weeks ago. Just awful.

Arcadia · 19/01/2021 16:23

Where are you guys getting today's figures from? Not on Dashboard yet, for me anyway!

Monkeytennis97 · 19/01/2021 16:24

Bbc reported

Monkeytennis97 · 19/01/2021 16:26

Also Sky

Firefliess · 19/01/2021 16:27

PHE have tweeted it, saying they're having problems with their dashboard today

Regulus · 19/01/2021 16:29

@Wilma55

33355 new cases
This is still a massive amount considering the amount of places that are closed.
TheSunIsStillShining · 19/01/2021 16:29

I wish there was some authority with actual power which could do something about leaks. BC/Sky/x should have data same time as dashboard. It's getting more annoying by the day that there are always rumours and gossip to test the waters insteado f strategy and plan that is being followed.
grrrr.

Monkeytennis97 · 19/01/2021 16:32

@Regulus I remember the week before we broke up from school it was 50k a day and I remember being really worried that last week and was grateful to everybody who kept their kids home for the last week of term (attendance in some year groups was 50% roughly). However this lockdown not everywhere is closed as much as March - schools have more kids and staff in. Estate agents and other workplaces are still open where they weren't before.

oneglassandpuzzled · 19/01/2021 16:33

Where/what are the rumours? I have only seen today's data?

ATieLikeRichardGere · 19/01/2021 16:34

Where do we get daily vaccination data?

PatriciaHolm · 19/01/2021 16:34

I don't think in the case it's leaks, PHE have tweeted the data and released to the press because there is an issue with the dashboard. It wasn't leaked.
wendz86 · 19/01/2021 16:35

Last Tuesday was 45,553 cases so a drop of 26%.

Monkeytennis97 · 19/01/2021 16:37

@ATieLikeRichardGere if you go to the first post on the thread the daily dashboard is the first link there. On the dashboard is vacc data.

It's interesting isn't it? Local hubs in town, which were packed during the weekend, seemed much quieter today. No queue's and lots of parking. Is this the same phenomenon as elderly people continuing to shop at the weekend rather than quieter periods during the week? I think this could suggest that there is indeed little appetite for 24 hour vaccinations, certainly among the first groups. Another, different explanation could be that they need help to get to centres, and therefore are relying on working children to get them there, so the weekend being more attractive from that point of view. Who knows. Human behaviour is an odd thing.
ATieLikeRichardGere · 19/01/2021 16:38

@Monkeytennis97 thanks! I think it may just not be working properly for me on my phone. Will try again in a bit!

SusannahSophia · 19/01/2021 16:39

Deaths always spike on a Tuesday after the weekend. Still high though but it will be better to see the date of death data rather than date reported.
