I am probably missing something very obvious (so be nice) - why have places suddenly jumped back 6 months or so? Am assuming to do with the one dose then 2nd 12 weeks later but was down for June/July now December or Jan 2022. Just curious really. I am only in group 9 so not at high risk but guess other higher categories have been pushed back too. Thought it would have got quicker with Oxford jab rolling out. Just asking so someone more with it can satisfy my curiosity thank you

Just looked at mine, category 6, was initially between middle of March and middle of April. Now jumped back to between end of June to end of September. Sad

dreamingofstars · 04/01/2021 12:29

According to calculator I am due around March/ April. I would come under the Nhs/ social care front line worker division but no health needs. Checked around two weeks ago and I was January..

I would say logistics... staffing...

Drinkarsefeck · 04/01/2021 12:29

Surely its to do with the second dose now being 12 weeks?

TheQueef · 04/01/2021 12:29

Is there a link please?

PilatesPeach · 04/01/2021 12:29

Yes I imagine everyone's has been pushed back am just not sure why - probably something obvious that currently escapes me.

I’m 2022

Crumpetycrump · 04/01/2021 12:30

But hopefully our first dose has been brought forward?

Iremembertheelderlykoreanlady · 04/01/2021 12:32

Isn't it because they originally said they would vaccinate 2 million people a week and they don't have the supplies to do it?

Also not enough glass vials apparently (you couldn't make this shit up!)

PilatesPeach · 04/01/2021 12:32

First dose can't have been brought forward though if you have to have 2nd within 12 weeks and calculator now showing 6 months later - the calculator shows first dose I think unless you set it in advanced mode which I did not so I took from it that my first dose was now 6 months' later

Lazypuppy · 04/01/2021 12:34

Calculator shows date you will have had both doses of vaccine so are protected.

Mine is july 2022 😂

Thatwentbadly · 04/01/2021 12:35

The calculator is not by the government and it based on a number of things. I’m guessing the changes are due to the slow pace of roll out.

PilatesPeach · 04/01/2021 12:35

I volunteered to help at local mass vaccination centre which was meant to be open 7am - 7pm 7 days a week but so far not been required and assume it is because there is not enough vaccine to open at those times and therefore they don't need as many people.

Always a hope that then turns out to be logistically impossible - same with T&T - we get told something that will help then it doesn't get sorted the way we were promised

ive been pushed back from june-sept this year to feb-july next year

HeronLanyon · 04/01/2021 12:39

Oh ffs I’ve slipped from May/June to Nov/Dec.
Given everything it makes sense but I’m finding this actually upsetting. Properly upsetting.

Ledkr · 04/01/2021 12:40

It shows no option for police, supermarket, transport or teaching staff. Surely with the uproar about schools closing or not the last few days it might be wise to rethink that.
I have a ECV son but at least he is furloughed and has the option to stay safe. Seems weird.

HeronLanyon · 04/01/2021 12:43

Oh yes by strongly demanding teachers and others are pushed up the queue I’ll slip back. Doh. Hmmmmmmm may have to rethink core life long values here Grin

SomewhatBored · 04/01/2021 12:44

Next fucking year. Well, that's marvellous.

iVampire · 04/01/2021 12:44

I think people are getting pushed back because in 12 weeks time, all the second shots will need to be carried out, and do the number of new first shots will go down (unless they build up parallel capacity ready to launch at about that time)

So yes, the first 12 million or so (conservative estimate of 1m a week) will get their first jabs a bit earlier, but second rather later. Those after them will all probably have to wait pretty similar amount of time

That might matter less as the sun gets stronger, it’s about 12 weeks to Easter (just after equinox) so if there is a hiatus then it might not matter so much

Ledkr · 04/01/2021 12:45

Mine also changes when i put my next birthday so hopefully before next xmas. Hmm

Aposterhasnoname · 04/01/2021 12:47

It shows when you’ll have had both vaccinations and be fully protected. A few weeks ago it was a three week gap, now it’s 12 weeks.

HeronLanyon · 04/01/2021 12:49

Wonder if those who change birthday and go into new category get to race up to the front of the queue - pushin in, as it were, waving their birth certif. Wondering if everyone would remain British and say nothing or have things changed ?!

LadyCatStark · 04/01/2021 12:50

How do you know this??

HeronLanyon · 04/01/2021 12:52

www.omnicalculator.com/health/vaccine-queue-uk

PilatesPeach · 04/01/2021 12:52

Yes but if the calculator originally showed June and now shows December, that is still a 5 month 1 week month jump back is it not? If previously you were likely to have your 1st dose early June, then you'd have your 2nd late June, now if you will be fully vaccinated at end of December, you must only be having your first jab end Sept. Anyway I cannot get my head around it all but that might just be me Grin

I'm shielding. I've been moved from early feb-early march, to late march-late may.

Slightly disappointed that it's now months rather than weeks, but I'll get through it I guess.
