I am probably missing something very obvious (so be nice) - why have places suddenly jumped back 6 months or so? Am assuming to do with the one dose then 2nd 12 weeks later but was down for June/July now December or Jan 2022. Just curious really. I am only in group 9 so not at high risk but guess other higher categories have been pushed back too. Thought it would have got quicker with Oxford jab rolling out. Just asking so someone more with it can satisfy my curiosity thank you

Well it looks like DH will have his in time to go on holiday in the summer. I'll have to wait until late autumn - I hope he send me a postcard Grin

HidingInTheLight · 04/01/2021 14:29

The unpaid carers thing isn’t unpaid carers full stop can have priority. It’s people in receipt of carers allowance. So for people like my mum who are unpaid carers (for me) but can’t claim carers allowance won’t have priority.

WitchesBritchesPumpkinPants · 04/01/2021 14:29

@TantieTowie

Have we moved on from under 50s with no underlying medical conditions not needing to be vaccinated at all? Didn't they say that at some point?
They're talking about everyone over 16 who wants it.
Oblomov20 · 04/01/2021 14:30

June 21. Was hoping I'd be before that.

WitchesBritchesPumpkinPants · 04/01/2021 14:30

@SmudgeButt. Have another look. When I put 94 in with no health issues @ 1,000,000 pw it comes out at March April.

WitchesBritchesPumpkinPants · 04/01/2021 14:33

@user1485461206

I’m now 2022, but I think it must be wrong as I put my mums details in and it said she was September this year, however she is having it January and has been confirmed
It's going to vary a lot area to area & also which category her GP puts her in
WitchesBritchesPumpkinPants · 04/01/2021 14:35

It's a fun thing to play with, but pretty useless. There's just not enough detail in it.

Interestingly though. My dates don't change whether I put carer in or not. I'm L6 so unpaid carers might be after L6 🤷🏻‍♀️

Fizzydrinks123 · 04/01/2021 14:37

from attached, seems to say occupation first phase?

www.gov.uk/government/publications/priority-groups-for-coronavirus-covid-19-vaccination-advice-from-the-jcvi-30-december-2020/joint-committee-on-vaccination-and-immunisation-advice-on-priority-groups-for-covid-19-vaccination-30-december-2020#fn:3

Occupational vaccination (other than frontline health and social care workers)
The committee considered evidence on the risk of exposure and risk of mortality by occupation. Under the priority groups advised below, those over 50 years of age, and all those 16 years of age and over in a risk group, would be eligible for vaccination within the first phase of the programme. This prioritisation captures almost all preventable deaths from COVID-19, including those associated with occupational exposure to infection. As such, JCVI does not advise further prioritisation by occupation during the first phase of the programme.

Occupational prioritisation could form part of a second phase of the programme, which would include healthy individuals from 16 years of age up to 50 years of age, subject to consideration of the latest data on vaccine safety and effectiveness.

re. care workers
it does say - who receive carers allowance OR are main carer?
www.carersuk.org/news-and-campaigns/press-releases/carers-uk-welcomes-new-jcvi-advice-which-includes-unpaid-carers-in-the-vaccination-priority-list

WitchesBritchesPumpkinPants · 04/01/2021 14:38

@aLilNonnyMouse

I'm shielding. I've been moved from early feb-early march, to late march-late may.

Slightly disappointed that it's now months rather than weeks, but I'll get through it I guess.

Don't put any weight in it. It's done by an organisation that calculates toilet paper useage. They don't have anywhere near enough information to calculate when YOU, with YOUR particulars, in YOUR area, will get vaccinated.

No matter what that daft thing shows, I'm hanging into Feb as my date. If that turns out to be optimistic the new date won't seem so far away by then!

In the meantime stay as safe as you can xx

picklemewalnuts · 04/01/2021 14:39

@Fingfoxes Notts and Derbyshire are doing it- worth looking to see where else. It's called swiftqueue.

Fizzydrinks123 · 04/01/2021 14:41

sorry meant second phase

Forgetmenot157 · 04/01/2021 14:41

@FourTeaFallOut

Oh, I agree. It would be great if we made a song and dance about the vaccine figures and could watch them climb. It's just when you said it might be a boost, I thought I'd link in case you hadn't seen it and might find it helpful.
Oh no I like to keep up to date, spoke to someone at work yesterday tho who didn't even know we had started jabbing arms haha I'm sure they live under a rock.
ThatIsNotMyUsername · 04/01/2021 14:42

Apparently there are between 24,759,945 and 28,049,905 people ahead of me - but if I get to be morbidly obese it goes to between 12,305,865 - 18,991,925 (and comes six months earlier)

LondonFE · 04/01/2021 14:42

I should expect to receive my two doses of vaccine and be fully protected by between 01/02/2022 and 02/07/2022.

SmudgeButt · 04/01/2021 14:43
@SmudgeButt. Have another look. When I put 94 in with no health issues @ 1,000,000 pw it comes out at March April.
shoulda gone to specsavers.....

WitchesBritchesPumpkinPants · 04/01/2021 14:45

@GreekOddess

Mine has moved forward! Checked a couple of weeks ago and it said between July and September but it's now saying between February and July. I'm late 40s with no medical conditions.
Did you tick any of the occupation/carer options?
LIZS · 04/01/2021 14:46

Dm who is late 80s and barely been out other than for appointments since March is end March, dh who recently had a lengthy stay in hospital and has a listed condition is June/July , me with mild asthma end of the year Sad I hope they can accelerate the roll out, otherwise I won’t have seen my parents in two years.

WitchesBritchesPumpkinPants · 04/01/2021 14:47

@picklemewalnuts

In my area a booking system has rolled out allowing people over 80 to book a vax centrally. However, it hasn't been publicised and people are wary of it.

There are appointments available Right Now but people aren't booking because they were told to wait until GP called them.

Such a waste.

We have had a couple of emails from our GP surgery to say to be mindful of scams offering vaccines, so maybe that's worrying them too. It would be helpful if family could check them out & help them book if it's safe
GU24Mum · 04/01/2021 14:48

I had a look too - doesn't the date include the period of time after the 2nd jab ie you'll have had the 2nd jab 3 weeks before that and the 1st one a good few weeks before. At least I hope so!

WitchesBritchesPumpkinPants · 04/01/2021 14:49

@GreekOddess

Poor attention to detail on my part. It's now saying 2022. I didn't notice that!
Ahh that makes more sense!!!

I wouldn't out any weight in that though. They're not tied in with NHS or anything useful!

WitchesBritchesPumpkinPants · 04/01/2021 14:50

@BlueBaubles12

How will they know who is morbidly obese? I wasn’t but I did eat a whole tin of Quality Streets over Christmas.
I did wonder how many people might eat their way into L6 🤣.
CaptainMyCaptain · 04/01/2021 14:53

I was a bit disappointed to find I wouldn't be getting mine until June, I was hoping it would be sooner than that. Out of interest I put my husband's details in (Health Worker and underlying condition) and it said late March - April but he's already had it. So who knows?

WitchesBritchesPumpkinPants · 04/01/2021 14:53

@HidingInTheLight

The unpaid carers thing isn’t unpaid carers full stop can have priority. It’s people in receipt of carers allowance. So for people like my mum who are unpaid carers (for me) but can’t claim carers allowance won’t have priority.
I'm sorry, that's not good 🙁maybe there will be another way to prove she genuinely cares for you. There has to be an element of proof or everyone would say they were a carer. Is your mum not eligible for a carers allowance? If she just hasn't bothered as it's a lot of paperwork for not much money etc this might be an added incentive!
treedragon · 04/01/2021 14:55

They must be doing groups together because where I live:

My Aunt is in Group 1 in a care home and has had it
My other Aunt 83 is in group 2 and has had it
A neighbour 86 is in grooup 2 and has had it
A friend is a nurse in group 2 and has had it

waterlego · 04/01/2021 14:57

July 2022 for me. I’ve got Covid currently though so at least I won’t be too worried about catching it.
