I am probably missing something very obvious (so be nice) - why have places suddenly jumped back 6 months or so? Am assuming to do with the one dose then 2nd 12 weeks later but was down for June/July now December or Jan 2022. Just curious really. I am only in group 9 so not at high risk but guess other higher categories have been pushed back too. Thought it would have got quicker with Oxford jab rolling out. Just asking so someone more with it can satisfy my curiosity thank you

I suspect the figures will change once more supplies are available. OTOH, I wouldn't trust this government to organise a piss up in a brewery.

Allispretty · 04/01/2021 13:44

2022 for me now 🤦🏽‍♀️ I was June/sept when I first used it

Skipsurvey · 04/01/2021 13:45

mine says June so i am pleased about that

Fieldofyellowflowers · 04/01/2021 13:46

I don't know how a calculator can accurately predict when we'll be getting a vaccine that was only first rolled out today. The calculator will only be working on a few variables as well. Nowhere near enough facts or data is being taken into consideration. I don't buy it.

satnighttakeaway · 04/01/2021 13:46

I agree. I cant help thinking that it's a load of nonsense

It's not nonsense in that it's mathematically calculating the results of a formula, what is nonsense is that people seem to assuming that the results will bear any relation to reality.

More useful might be the "how long will my toilet paper last" calculator that I see that they also have

user1485461206 · 04/01/2021 13:48

I’m now 2022, but I think it must be wrong as I put my mums details in and it said she was September this year, however she is having it January and has been confirmed

GreenlandTheMovie · 04/01/2021 13:48

I'm now July 2022 at the latest, assuming 1 million vaccines per week!

I'm pretty sure I was August 2021 before.

80sMum · 04/01/2021 13:49

Hmm. It's saying that my MIL, in her 90s and with underlying conditions, won't have it till late March /early April.
Mine now says November - a couple of weeks ago it was June!

FourTeaFallOut · 04/01/2021 13:50

Are you sure that it doesn't say her final vaccination - which absorbs the vaccination delay - will be late March/early April 80sMum?

ZoeTurtle · 04/01/2021 13:54

Mine says June-September this year (group 6) but I haven't checked it before, so don't know how much it's changed. Interesting, but I won't be putting much stock in it!

MolyHolyGuacamole · 04/01/2021 13:54

Hope this isn't insensitive to ask, but what does ECV mean please? I keep seeing it coming up in threads but google isn't helping

PilatesPeach · 04/01/2021 13:54

Yes it does NOW say 2nd and final jab.

SerenityFlowers · 04/01/2021 13:54

It's a load of nonsense - just a 'calculator' set up by an IT programmer with zero involvement with or expertise of the actual vaccine rollout. Looking at my figures, he has randomly decided vaccination speed at about 30 million people per year, even though current news from those in the know is saying we'll be at 2 million doses per week in a fortnight.

PilatesPeach · 04/01/2021 13:55

ECV Extremely clinically vulnerable

OP posts:
FourTeaFallOut · 04/01/2021 13:55

Extremely clinically vulnerable, specifically, those who have been asked to shield.

Fieldofyellowflowers · 04/01/2021 13:58

It is a calculator that the NHS won't acknowledge, set up by an IT company that not many people have heard of, that has very, very limited medical or logistical knowledge of how the vaccine is going to pan out.

Forgetmenot157 · 04/01/2021 13:59

I would guess its to do with the average pace of the rollout... As that increases your timeframe will Become sooner... So when it came out that based on 1million a week... However as we are not at that yet they are basing it on the current numbers they have.

flattyres · 04/01/2021 13:59

June/July 2021. let's see.

oakleaffy · 04/01/2021 14:00

November 2021.
If I'm still alive then. 😂

Forgetmenot157 · 04/01/2021 14:01

Anyone else think people's mental health would benefit from something on the news similar to when we have elections... Eg big figures in the corner of how many vaccines administers and the percentage of the population etc... It can easily be updated as and when figures come in and it may just give those people anxious about restrictions ect some figures to show that we are making progress?

TiddyTid · 04/01/2021 14:03

Previously jun-sept now showing feb-jul 2022. Marvellous Angry

treedragon · 04/01/2021 14:04

I assume it is more a manufacturing and supply issue than staffing. You don't have to wait 2 years for your flu vaccine or Hep B etc.

If it's lack of centres why aren't military sick bays being taken for doing vaccines and using military medical staff to bolster delivery times. Also private medical centres. How about using Atos and CAPITA medical services and shelve dole medicals for the sick. They are supposed to Health Care Professionals.

unmarkedbythat · 04/01/2021 14:04

you should expect to receive your two doses of vaccine and be fully protected by between ‎29‎/‎03‎/‎2021 and ‎05‎/‎04‎/‎2021

Hmm

MagicSummer · 04/01/2021 14:04

Last week mine said end of February - mid-March. Today it says I will be fully protected between mid-May and mid-June so I guess that means still on track for first jab end of February with second in 12 weeks, so mid-May to mid-June. They have just factored in the 12-week delay.

WitchesBritchesPumpkinPants · 04/01/2021 14:05

@PilatesPeach

Yes I imagine everyone's has been pushed back am just not sure why - probably something obvious that currently escapes me.
I'm L6 as well.

Initially I was surprised, hoping it would would say sooner now

But it didn't , it was much later 🙄🙄

BUT I soon realised that it's because it's when BOTH of your vaccinations will have been done, not your first. So that's the impact if spreading the disease around to more people and the second dose being after 12 weeks, not 3

I'm fine with that. Personally I'll be a little less well protected, but more people will also be somewhat protected and all vaccinated should all be protected enough to avoid hospitalisation and hopefully even if we get it, we won't be spreading it around

It would be helpful to have a calculator to tell us when we can expect the first vaccination
