Thanks @Titsywoo

JamieLeesCurtains · 30/12/2020 16:22

Universities on delayed return.

NoGoodPunsLeft · 30/12/2020 16:23

Primaries open from next week

YonderTweek · 30/12/2020 16:23

The main Sky News website airs it live and also lists bullet points as they go. I can't listen to it but keep refreshing the page to read. Grin

Ilovenewyear · 30/12/2020 16:23

He said it’s not every school in a tier 4 area which makes me feel like it must be most of them?!

ReesMoggsGlasses · 30/12/2020 16:23

@Ilovenewyear

Some primaries will be re-opening to key worker and vulnerable children only in the most affected areas. A list will be available on the government website later today.
No not keyworkers, anyone noticed it's now critical workers

Which could be a new word to use or could mean more

BlackeyedSusan · 30/12/2020 16:23

What about vulnerable/ keyworker secondary?

weddingplanning15 · 30/12/2020 16:23

@DinosaurDildo

Wtf is all this rambling Gav sounds like a priest!!!

I just said the same thing. Inherited talking like he is in church

whatwouldyoudo85 · 30/12/2020 16:23

I'm in tier 4. So does that mean primaries shut but nurseries open?

Ilovenewyear · 30/12/2020 16:24

@NoGoodPunsLeft remote learning for those in primaries in the most affected areas - a list will be published later today.

covetingthepreciousthings · 30/12/2020 16:24

I'm in tier 4. So does that mean primaries shut but nurseries open?

They're going to publish a list of which areas won't have primaries open, but from the sounds of it, it won't be all Tier 4 areas, it will only be a select few areas.

unicornparty · 30/12/2020 16:24

They haven't announced which primaries are open or closed yet. The list will be on Gov.uk later today.

Hearwego · 30/12/2020 16:24

Might get flamed for this but feel a bit sorry for Hancock. No secretary has had to deal with a global pandemic in the last 100 years or so. He seems a bit more sincere than some of the others...
I’m glad Gav’s going ahead with the schools...

Tarararara · 30/12/2020 16:25

Completely unclear who is in school, who is working remotely, and who is getting an extended holiday.

Ilovenewyear · 30/12/2020 16:25

@whatwouldyoudo85 he didn’t mention nurseries.

Beepbopadooda · 30/12/2020 16:25

Well I feel more confused than I did before

OrangeSamphire · 30/12/2020 16:25

More questions than answers in that statement.

Who knows what 'most affected areas' actually means? It can't mean simply 'tier 4' otherwise he'd have said so.

I suspect they are negotiating with tier 4 local authorities to avoid another Greenwich scenario.

weddingplanning15 · 30/12/2020 16:25

Sorry I missed most of it. Are primary schools in tier 4 closing, had a quick look on line can't see anything

Rainb0wDrops · 30/12/2020 16:25

Why do they do this and string it out. Just give us the list already. And say what's happening to nurseries.

Jenasaurus · 30/12/2020 16:25

Are nurserys closing?

JamieLeesCurtains · 30/12/2020 16:25

He's very Frank Spencer-esque

Oh god, don't @ReesMoggsGlasses. Can you imagine if Betty Boothroyd were still the Speaker? Grin

AppleKatie · 30/12/2020 16:26

I don't think he's swearing much

No but I would be if I was listening to him.

So we wait for a list then do we? Midnight is it?

ZeldaPrincessOfHyrule · 30/12/2020 16:26

Well this is clear as mud. Again.

ReesMoggsGlasses · 30/12/2020 16:26

I reckon "critical" workers will have different criteria to the old keyworkers

Glitterinthegrey · 30/12/2020 16:26

So "exam years" back on 11th.

Assuming that's 11 & 13?

DD is year 12 - but it IS an exam year, for her because of the course she's on.

So confused...
