The thing is OP we all have our own stories and risks
Your parents may be ECV but they’re at home together and safe, they may be fed up and you’re frustrated but so long as they stay put then their actual risk of catching covid is low
Many many other ECV people aren’t in that position and equally if not more need vaccinating but due to the schedule will have to wait longer and if you had your way would wait longer still
I’m ECV, both my teens are CV. I’ve shielded now since early March, both teens had their exams affected by Covid and both have ASD and anxiety disorders so have been badly disrupted
DS is in 6th form now, every day he goes to school we play Russian Roulette as Covid stalks the classrooms. With our particular illness we are immunodeficient and very vulnerable to these types of infections
Every day that kid goes in to school knowing that with my other conditions he could bring it home and kill me because my chance of survival is pretty slim, he wears a mask and gets ridiculed by his peers for doing so
And yet, he’s only in category 6 for vaccination
That’s a lot for a 17 to carry on his shoulders, if having one half of the dose to start with reduces that risk and stops my sons fear for me, or does the same for anyone else’s child in a similar situation I would gladly wait for my second dose
Personally if I could give him my dose first and take his place I would do that in a heartbeat because my greatest risk is him
So damn proud of him at the moment
