Or just just being said as scare tactic? What else could they really stop people doing?

I am reading this thread and imagining some people rubbing their thighs with glee at the though of the military being deployed onto the streets. Oh the drama!

Surely Tier 5 is just March style lockdown isn't it?

Beautifulbonnie · 28/12/2020 15:54

@LemonSquirtInTheEyeOfLife

I’m on a medication that means I’ll only survive 72 hrs at most without it. Me and my dr had w chat and they said they’d prescribe me 6 months worth and that I could reorder them early. So I’d never run out. I’d chat to your dr. They’ll know how important it is. If not your consultant can explain to your GP. BUT the consultant would need to prescribe it from the hospital. The GP has the last say in what they prescribe from their budget as such

Anyway. All this can be sorted. So you don’t run out again. You can also ring the pharmacies and find out which one is stocked more with what medication you need and get your repeat sent there

Once it’s be done. You can then ring them and explain and get it delivered. Even if they can’t deliver it. It does mean only one place to travel too

I work for a charity which advocates for patients with rare conditions. So if you ever need a hand. Let me know.

CrackALack · 28/12/2020 15:55

I'm just glad no one I know in real life thinks like them!

Right?! I don't know a single person who thinks like half the people on here in real life.

Tbh if the general consensus of people in the real world is anything to go by, it seems the gov will be lucky to get the level of compliance they are getting now for more than a few more months.

People genuinely have had enough. I don't know who these lockdown lovers, martial law supporters are but I suspect some must be trolls because it really does not seem to be the consensus I see when people can't hide behind an anonymous name on the internet.

HmmSureJan · 28/12/2020 15:56

@Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum

In tier 5 they will confiscate everyone's car keys and we will have to wear a full diving suit and air tanks to the supermarket.

meow1989 · 28/12/2020 15:58

Given its leaked to the press, probably... but it'll only work if they shut schools.

A 2-4 week.full lockdown might be a good idea if they really go for vaccination in that time...

But I'd rather stay tier 4 Sad

borntohula · 28/12/2020 15:59

@Clockstop

Tier 5 is where they cut your broadband and 4g just to make your life as tedious as it possibly can be.
😆
bookworm14 · 28/12/2020 15:59

@BamboozledandBefuddled

Some of the lockdown extremists on here seem to have contracted something far more dangerous and unpleasant than Covid. I wonder if there's any hope of a vaccine against it being announced in the near future.
This. I never knew until this year how many wannabe-Stasi informants live in this country.
Grobagsforever · 28/12/2020 16:00

@AgentProvocateur

Where I am, our lockdown was go out for food and/or medicine once every three days and you had to apply for a permit to do that. No exercise, no dog walks, and a total nighttime curfew. That’s what you call a lockdown.
@AgentProvocateur

No, that's what you call a police state. And animal cruelty.

I'm sorry you went through that.

Abracadabra12345 · 28/12/2020 16:01

@Jourdain11

No leaving the house at all, except to go to hospital in a medical emergency. The army on the streets to enforce this. Food and medication drops of essential items needed for survival. Close schools for the rest of the year, work from home unless NHS and emergency services. Financial incentives for neighbours and family members to report on rule breaking. Unscheduled calls twice a day to ensure that people are at home, either that or tracking apps.

Exercise, etc. is obviously not necessary or can be done indoors. The only thing that matters is beating the virus!

You are describing The Dream for a whole load of people 😱😁
trappedsincesundaymorn · 28/12/2020 16:07

Those saying the police should enforce any tier 5 restrictions, I have just one question....how?? Given that the nearest medium sized market town has the grand total of 10 officers for a 110 square mile radius, I very much doubt we'll see them in the villages anytime soon, let alone on the corner of every street. Honestly some people on here are so ridiculous it's embarrassing.

PinkFondantFancy · 28/12/2020 16:07

@Jourdain11 you had me worried for a fleeting moment then!! Smile

Stradivari · 28/12/2020 16:07

Loving the use of the military as enforcers. The numbers employed by the British Army that are deployable at notice, trained and in date without leaving huge gaps in our own service - because shockingly we have other things to do than make sure Gladys isn’t going to the supermarket twice in one week - would probably sort out Maidenhead... so the rest of the country could carry on as normal.

What - a vaccine against being a fuckwit?

I hope so...

PrincessNutNuts · 28/12/2020 16:09

@Pastanred

they wont lockdown! so dramatic.

Treatment is better.
The vaccine is round the corner.
Tiers/regional best given numbers now are still massively lower than April

They might not call it a lockdown: hence "Tier 5"
Crazycatlady83 · 28/12/2020 16:10

How many tiers do we think we will need ....

Do you think tier five will happen
Beautifulbonnie · 28/12/2020 16:15

@AcornAutumn

Sorry. My phone autocorrect the wrong words

My family friend who lives abroad. They weren’t allowed outside their own home for 11 weeks. Only to go for food (which only one person could go). Masks HAVE to be worn as soon as you get outside your property line. If you can’t wear one. You send someone who can. Schools were shut. You were allowed out to go to the drs and work. But that was it. You could take your dog out once. Then of course everything else was shut

Yes it was tough. But on the plus side. They have no Covid in their region at all. They all went out for Christmas Day and are all going out for New Years

However. I do remember they went out In march for a bike ride and got sent home by the police. They also have much more police to police it as hard as they could at the time

It’s not in England though. And no. It’s not a joke. I remember thinking gosh. How sad. It’s strict. But then they are reaping the benefits now.

1992serpent · 28/12/2020 16:16

Pigeons and primary age children only allowed out of the house. No eye contact allowed with the pigeons

Before you know it pigeons catch covid and all Londoners are fucked.

WhatTheFuck123 · 28/12/2020 16:17

You're only allowed to go for a shit between 5pm and 8pm, unless you're wearing a red top in which case you'll be fine because covid prefers green

Smile I'm sorry, I did not realise that this was supposed to be a serious thread Wink

Pootle40 · 28/12/2020 16:20

@notevenat20

In tier 5 is not leaving the house it will be unenforceable.

In France you have to fill out a form explaining t why your trip out of the house is permitted whenever you leave the house (when they were in lockdown). That could be in tier 5.

Genuine question - how on earth are France policing this for their whole population?

Big problem for me - I’m 9.30am to 10am every day, like clockwork. At work I don’t schedule calls between those times for that very reason.
