Just that really.
They've been kind and given us Christmas Day and Boxing Day off.
But, they will make an announcement, soon. Right?

I think the next review is the 30th

Covidrelapse · 26/12/2020 21:53

January 4th I reckon

3littlewords · 26/12/2020 21:54

Tiers are to be reviewed on the 30th so maybe then or the 31st

AcornAutumn · 26/12/2020 21:56

My money’s on Tuesday 29th

With a curfew around New Year

Before THAT poster comes along, this is in my opinion, your honour, I’m not presenting it as fact.

likeamillpond · 26/12/2020 21:56

I think it will be before the new year
They won't want mass gatherings

slipperywhensparticus · 26/12/2020 21:57

Did you see Birmingham today? Mass gathering is already happening

KaybeeL · 26/12/2020 21:57

I think it will be in a couple of days. Before New Year to try and stop gatherings!

TheDogsMother · 26/12/2020 21:58

I believe they've said it will be on the 30th and have recently said the higher tiers will not be reduced on that date.

Hardbackwriter · 26/12/2020 22:00

The kind thing would be to do it sooner rather than later. I don't think that's what will happen, though, I think they're desperately trying to put off the inevitable.

likeamillpond · 26/12/2020 22:05

Yes s sooner would mean people could mentally prepare for it.

MiniMaxi · 26/12/2020 22:06

I’m half expecting national lockdown, including school closures, to be announced in early Jan - before secondaries due back on 11th.

madroid · 26/12/2020 22:07

I think before the new year to avoid more mixing then. The sales are not a good idea this year unless online. :(

hettyhooverdoover · 26/12/2020 22:07

@slipperywhensparticus

What's happening in Birmingham?
StealthPolarBear · 26/12/2020 22:07

Monday I think

Bokky · 26/12/2020 22:08

After seeing The Trafford Centre pictures today, I wouldn't be surprised if some sort of lockdown wasn't in place just before new year to prevent people getting together for that.

madroid · 26/12/2020 22:08

I agree it will have to include schools @MiniMaxi

So many of the hospitals in the south are already full we can't risk rates going up even more than they will as a result of Christmas

Givemeabreakpls · 26/12/2020 22:13

I’ve heard it’ll be the 7th. A friend of mine is a hairdresser and was told this by one Tory MP - obviously not gospel but I’m mentally prepping myself for it just in case it’s true!

likeamillpond · 26/12/2020 22:15

The 7th?
Odd date. I would have thought before the new year.

OP posts:
WitchesBritchesPumpkinPants · 26/12/2020 22:17

Hopefully before New Years Eve - including a curfew.

triceratops12 · 26/12/2020 22:22

Just before NYE- 30th maybe

GabsAlot · 26/12/2020 22:22

everyine in tier 4 (as he hates to use the word lockdown) on jan1 maybe 31st to stop parties

LetsGoFlyAKiteee · 26/12/2020 22:26

Probably the 30th as said before. Saying that whatever is said i don't see how that will stop people having parties if they've stupidly planned them knowing cant mix

Justgivemewine · 26/12/2020 22:27

We’ll probably end up in a full national lockdown for a set period of time as people are just so pissed off with daily tier changes and differences all over the place. Not saying I agree with it, It’s just what I think could happen

People are sick of watching the news daily to see if our tier has changed.
People are sick of the rules constantly being set then rescinded almost daily.

Just pick a fucking plan and stick to it for a set amount to time so people can prepare and plan accordingly.

Givemeabreakpls · 26/12/2020 22:27

@likeamillpond

The 7th? Odd date. I would have thought before the new year.
The reason my friend gave for the 7th was that they’ll be voting for it on the 5th, and changes seem to happen on a Thursday? It’s very likely not to be true, especially given that numbers have been much worse in the past few days and as pp’s have said, they’ll want to shut most things down before NYE but that may be a tier 4 thing rather than a full lockdown.
Callipygion · 26/12/2020 22:28

What’s going on in Brum??

I’m wondering if students will be able to go back to uni!
