Just thought I'd start a new thread for the north east lot as number 3 is getting pretty full!

@PennyDreadfuI hope you're ok and hope you don't mind me picking the thread up!

@MrsEWeatherwax how disappointing Grin

Ooh I like the idea of vaccines getting flown in under the cover of darkness!

I think I’m in a similar area to both @Someaddedsugar and @MissEWeatherwax. Sadly I heard nothing because I was wiped out and had an early night.

I think there have been a lot of military exercises recently in the area. Someone on FB saw a chinook helicopter the other day flying around.

PickAChew · 26/02/2021 17:13

I didn't hear the helicopters, last night. Might have been drowned out by the always on tumble dryer, if they did come over, mind.

I did get some washing out today. Most of it is now on my indoor airer!

Someaddedsugar · 26/02/2021 19:19

I don't think I'd have noticed them if they weren't so low down! We usually have a helicopter that flies over between 9 and 10pm but it must be quite high up as I only ever hear it if it's quiet in the house.

My volunteer application has been approved for the vaccine centre! Just waiting to hear when my first shift is. Very excited! Feels like a small contribution to support the NHS Smile

Hope everyone's having a good weekend! The weather has made a real change!

We went to Broom House Farm again this morning and by about 11am the car park was full which was lovely to see, and nice to see somewhere local getting a lot of business despite everything else that's going on.

@Someaddedsugar - hello. The weather has been lovely today hasn’t it? We really like
Broom House Farm.

We walked up the line to Knitsley Farm Shop. It’s a good 4/5km from our house so we were looking to recharge with a cup of coffee. However we’d forgotten our masks! So no coffee for us. It was a sad trudge back down the line....

Grin masks are now duly packed into our bags.

Someaddedsugar · 27/02/2021 18:38

Oh no @Florelei! Not what you need!

I used to do that all of the time when I go to the supermarket - drive all of the way there and then sit in the car thinking I've forgotten to bring a mask 😂. I've now got three stashed in different places in the car that I make sure to replace as soon as I get home! I still forget the bags every time too!

I love Knitsley farm shop! I'm looking forward to all of these places being open properly when you don't feel quite so guilty about having a proper browse.

OP posts:
Florelei · 27/02/2021 18:49

Yes @Someaddedsugar! I have my car full of masks for the same reason.... 😂

I did consider putting my face inside my jumper and just going for it (I really needed that coffee, as I am very unfit) but I thought it would be too cheeky if I did that.

Someaddedsugar · 27/02/2021 18:59

😂 I've seen a few people do that in our local corner shop and it always makes me laugh!

The weather was lovely today. We went to Broom house Farm but not until later and the car park was still busy. The staff said was a busy day. We went to visit the pigs, smelly but so cute. Lambing is in about 3 weeks. Jane the owner said, they but be opening the Adventure trail as soon as legal. So that is something to look forward too, especially with children.
I like a good farm shop and tea rooms.

Someaddedsugar · 28/02/2021 08:17

Thanks for the lambing date @MrsEWeatherwax - I'll be keeping an eye out as DS will absolutely love seeing the lambs!

So delighted with the weather. Had a lovely walk with DH yesterday and going to do a bit of sorting in the garden today. Life seems so much better when you can get outside in the sunshine. Hope everyone is well.

Florelei · 28/02/2021 12:47

Hello everyone. It looks like another lovely day. There’s a farmers market on in our village today so the railway line that cuts through the village is absolutely heaving. I hope all of the sellers do well.

We are going to go take a look later on when it’s a bit quieter.

@PickAChew - it’s so strange how different the weather can be each year!

Someaddedsugar · 28/02/2021 14:18

We went for a walk along the top of Tow Law fell this morning and it was lovely!

We saw the market on our way back @Florelei (we were nosying at two houses for sale!) - I hope the sellers all get good trade!

February and March are often unpredictable months for weather aren't they! So pleased it's sunny and not snowy like your photo @PickAChew. I've had enough of the snow for this year!

OP posts:
MrsEWeatherwax · 28/02/2021 15:20

It’s just come up as a Facebook, memories the snow from last year. So pleased not snowing today. My washing is out getting, yeah.
My day is so boring, laundry and I have just cleaned downstairs toilet. Sad life.

Someaddedsugar · 28/02/2021 18:26

@MrsEWeatherwax at least you'll have lovely line dried washing! So much nicer than indoor drying! And definitely not a sad life Smile

It's been a lovely day. Took Mum to Dobbies and got some new plants for the garden, amazing the difference a bit of sun makes!

TheSilveryPussycat · 02/03/2021 13:03

Just checking in. Nothing to report!

PickAChew · 02/03/2021 13:10

Ds2 is at school 🎉

Someaddedsugar · 03/03/2021 07:13

Fab news @PickAChew - how's he finding it?

Nothing really to report here. Heading to Lanchester Garden Centre and Pity Me Nurseries today to try and get some plants for our pots but not really sure what I want until I see it!

Sticking to my calorie counting and daily yoga flow class and amazingly I've lost 6lb since the start of February! The pinch of nom book is really good and I'm enjoying cooking again!

PickAChew · 03/03/2021 13:24

He's pretty made up about it, @Someaddedsugar. He's missed the place, and the people so much. Seems he was also desperate for a haircut, as that's the first thing he asked for!

Thinds are also moving with camhs, as he has a face to face appointment, next week. That'll be fun with only one of us in there, having to both do the talking and keep him in the room. He will want to leave and he will whack me for talking about him, especially about his tics.

PickAChew · 03/03/2021 13:25

Good going on the weight loss, BTW 👍

NUFC69 · 03/03/2021 17:20

@Someaddedsugar , I am so pleased that you like the Pinch of Nom book, as I said I now have all three of them. We had chicken with Orange yesterday - it was delicious.

We have been to three shops today: Dobbies, Costco and Lidl. Yesterday the kettle packed up and, oddly enough, we actually managed to get a replacement in Lidl; it was incredibly tedious boiling a jug of water in the microwave.

Someaddedsugar · 03/03/2021 18:12

@PickAChew that's fab news that he's enjoying it!

I could do with a haircut too! I'm back to the cousin it phase of a fringe!

@NUFC69 thank you for the recommendation. I bought the first book and have just ordered the 400 calories one. DP is also really enjoying the recipes so it's been nice for us to have new things to try.
