No one, until the last month.

Now 15. 12 have been in the last 3 days.

3 of those were living in Kent so it was likely the new strain. All working in education.

Others have been in my local area that's just gone into tier 4.

I'm seriously considering whether to send my dd back to school on 4th January as I have a chronic health condition where catching covid could have a seriously detrimental effect on me.

Oldwreck · 26/12/2020 23:22

About 17-20 confirmed. 2 dead. Loads more before testing was available. One friend has had it twice.

GlamourSpider · 26/12/2020 23:27

Personally, two friends. Extend that out to my friends and their friends/fam and it's prob 12-15.

HollyGenneroMcClane · 26/12/2020 23:33

Teacher so know loads. Staff and students. My sister (hospital worker) and one non-teacher friend (prison worker). Oh and one of my teacher friends and her police officer husband. And two nurse friends. And currently me and my household have it.

I only know one person who has had it and not been public sector.

PixelatedLunchbox · 26/12/2020 23:34

14 that i know of

Jinglingmod · 26/12/2020 23:45

Lost count. Work in a school so dozens, obviously. Plus dozens out of school this time round. Including numerous grandparents of students I teach who've died.

First wave, I knew 11 confirmed cases, 6 died, 1 has Long Covid.

Northernsoulgirl45 · 26/12/2020 23:56

14 from dds school including a close friend. All ok AFAIK. A friend and her child. Plus a friends daughter and daughter in law who are both teachers.
Thank God all young and fit and fairly mild cases.

Northernsoulgirl45 · 26/12/2020 23:58

Actually another two. Mum and Dad of a school case.

Northernsoulgirl45 · 26/12/2020 23:58

Tier 4 but only recently.

But then again I don't know anyone.

Xmasbaby11 · 27/12/2020 00:01

About 10-20, a few in London and some in the USA - but they were all under 50 and did not get it badly.

colouringindoors · 27/12/2020 00:02

Several friends, two neighbour households, several relatives of friends (2 sadly died) and as I work in a secondary school another dozen. 1 teacher at dcs school sadly died if it. My dd just over it, ds and exh going for a test tomorrow 😪

colouringindoors · 27/12/2020 00:02

Oh and a friend my age who has Long Covid, badly.

colouringindoors · 27/12/2020 00:04

Missis if I were you and you can manage with dd at home, I wouldn't send her in. Wait at least until this wave has peaked and hospitals not so overwhelmed...

elliejjtiny · 27/12/2020 00:06
  1. 1 has ended up with long covid and 2 have recovered.
MissisBoote · 27/12/2020 08:22

@colouringindoors the only issue is that she had her GCSE mocks in the first two weeks of January so it's really important that she does them.

MissisBoote · 27/12/2020 08:22

*Has not had

ValancyRedfern · 27/12/2020 08:52
  1. 6 out of 8 (including me and dh) barely had symptoms. 2 were ill, of which 1 is still suffering with long Covid.
TonkinLenkicks · 27/12/2020 08:58

...

BingIsAMassiveTwat · 27/12/2020 09:04

2, one who is ECV and has been shielding all year. Both had very mild symptoms for a day or so.

colouringindoors · 27/12/2020 14:51

missis oh sympathies (mine had hers in Dec)

JustDanceAddict · 27/12/2020 15:24

Loads, and a couple of people I know of have died from it.

Jammygal · 27/12/2020 16:17

Just getting going here - I know of 13 cases that I know well - one in hospital on a ventilator 😔

TweeVi · 27/12/2020 17:58

At least 5 teachers
At least 10 friends - one friend of a friend ended up in hospital on oxygen, but avoided ventilator.
3 neighbours that I know of - two went to hospital- one ended up in icu on a ventilator.
Several colleagues from the company who are based in London.
Loads of kids, teens and students - one teen was admitted to hospital, but. OST have had mild symptoms.

middleager · 27/12/2020 18:26

I posted upthread about knowing 30ish.

Today I learned that a family member's brother has died. He was in his 50s and admitted to hospital for something else, urgent and unrelated to Covid, but contracted Covid in hospital and was discharged.

He awoke the next morning at home struggling to breathe due to C19 which triggered several smaller heart attacks. A neighbour managed to give CPR and revive him. He was taken to hospital by ambulance but suffered a big heart attack as he got to hospital.

He was healthy with no history of heart disease. It's absolutely shocking.
