Has anyone else lost the will to care?

I have. I barely care about anything anymore. I don't know what we are fighting for - if this is life then is it worth living? We are not living, we are only existing at this point.

We could be in for months and months of restrictions and there's even talk of a third lockdown. Because the first two worked so well?

In a few short months a whole year of our lives will have been restricted.

If there is light at the end of this tunnel it's a very long tunnel, and I don't think we've travelled very far.
@Pootle40 I see sense Wink

This whole thing is utterly ridiculous, quarantining healthy people, ruining entire industries, banning people from seeing their own family, imprisoning elderly people in care homes, skewing figures, MP’s ignoring their own rules, masks, endless tv, radio and shopping centre announcements, previously happy people now depressed - totally had enough. The cure is massively worse than the illness and I’m fed up of Hancock et al telling us we are responsible for stopping a fucking microscopic virus who’s only purpose in life is to pass between hosts.
Agreed

On the plus side it looks like the Oxford vaccine is going to be approved before the end of December, and then they just need to chuck every resource they have it vaccinating the actual at risk, and then the wider population. TBH I don't see the point of continuing to throw resources at testing, given most people don't seem to engage with T & T anyway, if those resources could be redirected to vaccination

Calledyoulastnightfromglasgow · 19/12/2020 18:25

I think you are right. Vaccination is the only way forward.

AlwaysWinterNeverChristmas · 19/12/2020 18:26

Drakeford promising a better year next year. Sure, after trashing the economy until it can't even be seen under a microscope.

It always has been

There really is no other way out. Thankfully we have one. Oxford too hopefully which will be a game changer

CookieDoughKid · 19/12/2020 18:36

CalledyoulastnightfromglasgowLike what kind of action do you propose the UK Gov should take against the Chinese?

I feel this is more about saving the NHS at a sacrifice of everything else.

onedayinthefuture · 19/12/2020 18:37

@Calledyoulastnightfromglasgow

I’m just so down with it all. Why is no action being taken against the Chinese for this?!

Surely there has to be a huge recognition now that the way animals are treated in this world needs to change. Why is this such a mute point? This isn't the first deadly virus to originate from China.

bumbleymummy · 19/12/2020 19:16

Ugh. The coronavirus board has exploded now with the latest restrictions. Lots of STFAHers out in force.

AlaskaThunderfuckHiiiiiiiii · 19/12/2020 19:22

I live in an area of Scotland that has literally just moved to level 1 yet we are now going straight to level 4? I work in community nursing so get hospital number updates every week and this week we have 5 suspected cases and 0 in ITU so what is the rationale then? Schools closed till 11th January and online till the 18th, at least my kids can go but no idea what every other working parent is going to do Angry

AlaskaThunderfuckHiiiiiiiii · 19/12/2020 19:25

I also don’t understand what all the fuss over the new strain is? Is literally said on the news before that although it MAY be spreading faster it is no more dangerous than the current one? Seems all a bit too convenient to me

RockPaperScissorsLizardSpock73 · 19/12/2020 19:44

@bumbleymummy lots are also saying fuck it now. I think the general tone is changing tbh. So many have made plans and the new mutation (which they have known about since September 😡) is about the 3000 mutation I believe. People have complied with promises of Christmas together etc and now they have pulled this. Parliament closed yesterday (how convenient!) I think Bojo has lost it now completely

Calledyoulastnightfromglasgow · 19/12/2020 19:45

It’s funny as I’m the reverse. I think I can see the seriousness of the strain in London and what could happen in January.

RockPaperScissorsLizardSpock73 · 19/12/2020 19:56

Yet it wasn't serious in September??? It's taken 3 months to become a worry?

Calledyoulastnightfromglasgow · 19/12/2020 20:11

Well the fact it’s winter. We have flu. This new strain. Close to a vaccine rollout.

Buttercupcup · 19/12/2020 20:46

Just gonna proactively pour a bottle of Pinot noir into a travel mug pull on my puddle suit and have a walk around the block and be #grateful that OH is doing bedtime

Orangeblossom77777 · 19/12/2020 20:49

A young person I know had cancer and had to have chemo alone, died at home as no visitors in hospital. I have no words but it seems as if their death is in a way not as important as the 'covid deaths' which are mainly in the 80 plus range. They never reached such an age. It seems so unfair.

Orangeblossom77777 · 19/12/2020 20:50

I also do not care about catching covid anymore. I would not like to give it to others but in comparison to what I have seen it is minor in comparison.

DuesToTheDirt · 19/12/2020 20:56

Orangeblossom, that's horrendous.

organisedmother · 19/12/2020 21:01

Is everyone aware that some people are homeless and have nobody! If you have a roof over your head and food in fridge then have a christmas on zoom and be thankful for the life you have.

happystone · 19/12/2020 21:06

For some reason this new strain of virus really worries me. Itslike some horror movie.

MaxNormal · 19/12/2020 21:08

Oh read the bloody room organisedmother

happystone · 19/12/2020 21:09

I am not worried about Christmas.I didn’t think it would happen with mixing,I learnt in March not to believe in Norris and listen to who and other countries

@DownstairsMixUp @Orangeblossom77777
Oh I agree so much. I have recently lost my dear lovely partner to cancer. I almost feel like his death doesn’t count as it wasn’t Covid. Now my plan for Christmas is ruined due to new rules. I am really at rock bottom tonight.
