Matt Hancock Crying

I just watched the clip and I thought rather then crying it looked like he was laughing. Anyone else think it was weird. I was expecting him to be quietly emotional after this shit show of a year But no, it looked like he was covering up the giggles. Anyone else think this or am I on my own.

@MrsMiaWallis

First vaccine in the world, so he's not done too badly.
He's fast becoming one of the heroes of the pandemic.
Mehmehmeh19 · 08/12/2020 17:45

I'm sure it was a laugh and I think it was William Shakespeare that tipped him over the edge. I'm not a fan of M.H but he really has had a thankless job, and I'm not sure what anyone else could have done differently

FourTeaFallOut · 08/12/2020 17:45

Have a word with yourself if you’re trying to pretend he’s a great guy for buying in a fraction of the vaccinations needed

Confused 40 million doses of Pfizer vaccine ordered to cover 20 million people. No children, pregnant women or tin foil hatters makes a sizeable sent in the population and covers all those most at risk of death and hospitalisation.

ViciousJackdaw · 08/12/2020 17:47

Never mind Hancock, what about Margaret Keenan? Doesn't she look fantastic for a woman of almost 91.

Bloody hell. And how many do France, Italy and Spain have? Honestly people are so blinded by politics they twist it all.

@HighHeelBoots

ProudConfused He should be crying. We have spent the most and have the worst outcomes in Europe This government has ensured ordinary people will be crying for years to come. And brexit to cope with The potential for vaccines to be held up at customs, no wonder they have had to rush to get them in. Yet Tory party supporters won't hear a word against them
Oh fgs. Some miserable people on here.
sunflowerstory · 08/12/2020 17:50

Jesus christ is it that hard to believe he was overwhelmed for a second? The amount of "shaking and crying" that goes on on MN, you'd think there would be more of an allowance for human emotion.

Or is that just allowed for confrontations over parking spaces, not the potential end of a deadly pandemic?

Oh stop it. This is one vaccine and it's just the start and we've got there first. Oxford still to come.

Hancock has played a blinder. Stop playing politics.

MarshaBradyo · 08/12/2020 17:53

I don’t think people get how dire it would be without this vaccine. So with it l, throw down the Labour politics and have a day of relief.

ListeningQuietly · 08/12/2020 17:53

Matt Hancock is morally bankrupt and corrupt
he has handed HUGE contracts to people utterly unsuited and unqualified
(like his pub landlord)
without complying with ANY of the procurement rules

unusable PPE bought in from forced labour camps in China
is clogging up Felixtowe Docks

He has NOT listened to experts
he has DELIBERATELY stopped local teams working well

history will not judge him well

and he lied about the "step father" who died

User158340 · 08/12/2020 17:54

@FourTeaFallOut sorry I quoted the wrong person

Didkdt · 08/12/2020 17:59

Genuine question op do you fall out with lots of people in life because you seem unable to get them?

Also @HighHeelBoots worst in Europe? www.statista.com/statistics/1104709/coronavirus-deaths-worldwide-per-million-inhabitants/

FourTeaFallOut · 08/12/2020 18:00

That's ok Smile

Only today Pfizer have had to tell the US that it won't be able to supply additional vaccines beyond those that were pre-ordered until June or July. So I do think that we have done exceptionally well in this regard.

I do think, once the dust has settled, that there will be tough questions to answer about our lack of preparedness around PPE and I absolutely think the stuff around Dido Harding needs thorough investigation.

So, I don't think he's a bloody saint but some of the stuff on this thread is just outright dickishness.

Ori3 · 08/12/2020 18:01

I would be crying too if I was in his shoes. Pure relief I expect. Honestly no matter what your political preference, you wouldn’t want the job he’s had this last year.

Returnofthemaccys · 08/12/2020 18:01

He's fast becoming one of the heroes of the pandemic.

Health secretary in the country with one of the absolute worst death rates? What a fucking hero.

IceCreamAndCandyfloss · 08/12/2020 18:03

He is probably shattered and I can’t imagine his job is easy given all the unknown elements of the pandemic. Is it any wonder he was emotional, he’s is human so it’s hard'y a surprise he may be affected like others watching.

MotherOfDragonite · 08/12/2020 18:04

Well, all I can say is thank goodness my emotional moments aren't televised and pored over.

I'm not a huge Matt Hancock fan but I can well imagine the tumult of emotions he may have been experiencing -- I felt pretty tearful and shaken up when I saw about the first person being vaccinated, tbh. It's been a hell of a year!

And he's just lost family to Covid and got emotional in parliament in last week. He's worked so hard for this moment.

This made me snort:

Matt Hancock Crying
MissEliza · 08/12/2020 18:09

I'm not really sure how he can take credit for this. First of all, let's thank the scientists. Secondly let's thank f&@k we live in a country able to afford it. Lastly, someone else - can't remember her name - was specifically in charge of procurement of vaccines. She had a bloody hard job to decide how much to order of each. Then there's all those who slogged away getting the arrangements right to transport and deliver it safely.

MarshaBradyo · 08/12/2020 18:10

@PrincessNutNuts

This made me snort:
On the second time of seeing it, still loathe the ‘joke’.
GrimSisters · 08/12/2020 18:10

I've seen this video before but the new voice-over made me chuckle. Hancock is certainly rather odd.

LivingOnAnIsland · 08/12/2020 18:10

@ViciousJackdaw

I was thinking the same! She looks amazing!
FourTeaFallOut · 08/12/2020 18:10

Fucking hell, that is shameful @princessnutsnuts, wtf?

Userzzz · 08/12/2020 18:11

Anyone who thinks he is being genuine in that video is very naive! He’s acting, badly.
