feellikezerobucks it’s 14 days isolation for your ds only not the family unless he shows any symptoms and then you test him and go from there.

@feellikezerobucks
14 days but not necessarily from today, from when the positive contact was last in school so check with them.
Someone posted here recently about being told to self isolate for 2 days as it was 12 days since the positive child was last in school!

Ds year 9 zero
Dd year 10 twice

@middleager

This is the third time for my 14 year old since Sept. This is just so unsettling for us all.

Cases are rife at his brother's secondary.

Update:

DS1 Y10 - 3. Currently on 3rd due to cases at school.

DS2 Y10 - 1. Just been sent back due to cases at school.

West Midlands

That's 8 weeks of quarantine on this perpetual cycle.

We’ve had one 70 hour while family isolation while we waited for COVID test results.

As far as school imposed ones, so far...
DC y8- none
DC Y6- one day (while school were awaiting DfE guidance)
DC y4- none
DC yR- none

chillied · 12/11/2020 14:53

I'm shocked to see the numbers of isolations in Nw and west mids - 3 lots etc

Incredibly disruptive!

None YET for my secondary school DC (south west).
