"Boris Johnson is holding a press conference with Sir Simon Stevens, the chief executive of NHS England, at 5pm, No 10 has announced."

What do we think he’s going to say? I’m a bit worried about what he might say.

But I can pretty much guarantee he won’t be on time at 5pm, I’m guessing more like 6!

Maybe a meteorite is on its way.

Is turning his conference bs into a drinking game a bad idea? 👀 shot every time he repeats himself? 🤣

We could set that up Choose key Boris phrases- every time have say the word you take a shot

NHS- that would take up a whole bottle of spirits within 10 minutes.

Probably not wise. You'll end up needing your stomach pumped and then someone will come along and accuse you of killing everyone's granny as your adding to the problem and don't you know the NHS is already struggling. Grin
FourTeaFallOut · 05/11/2020 14:12

Let's go large...a shot for every alas...line your stomachs, it's going to get messy.

ClaireP20 · 05/11/2020 14:14

@Jedstre

Centred around NHS pressures perhaps. NHS was moved to high alert level yesterday. Could also be news about vaccine roll out.
Yes, I think this - and some more support packages for people x
1forAll74 · 05/11/2020 14:14

He is going to inform people, that everyone who does not break the Covid rules, and stays home, will all receive a generous Christmas hamper in December, courtesy of the government.

@CovidClara

Just a ploy to stop fireworks as Saturday was a ploy to stop halloween. If the mass of the people are waiting to hear their leader speak they can't also be trick or treating/bonfiring.
Just decided my fireworks and bonfire will be starting at 5pm.
EdithWeston · 05/11/2020 14:17

Probably not to blow up granny, as the slogan for a firework safety homily

DickAndSizzy · 05/11/2020 14:17

I'll read up on it later. I'm not hanging around for another 2+hrs waiting for BoJo to rock up. He already ruined Halloween evening and is almost always late for these things.

justanotherneighinparadise · 05/11/2020 14:17

I have my covid bingo card out and I’m hoping to win at least a tenner.

TicTacTwo · 05/11/2020 14:17

Think he'll drop this info in the press conference.

Haha was just going to say, don't choose "Alas" or you will end up with alcohol poisoning and that is not protecting the NHS!!

Don't get my hopes up Grin
ClaireP20 · 05/11/2020 14:18

@Fawnfour

Will people finally listen, doubtful
Well, quite, judging by what I see at the school gates every morning. How many times does a school have to say 'please don't stand outside the gates smoking in large groups' before anyone takes any notice...
RhubarbTea · 05/11/2020 14:18

"Poundland Churchill" made me spit my tea out. Hahahaha.

Special staff treatment 🤪😂
Calmandmeasured1 · 05/11/2020 14:22

He will be on time (or within a couple of minutes of 5 p.m. as he usually is - the exception being last time).

He will probably reiterate the reasons for the 'lockdown', give details of the financial package for people in hospitality etc who have been told to close and answer questions from the press.

JosephineDeBeauharnais · 05/11/2020 14:24

If Stevens is there it’ll be pure propaganda. All about how fantastically well the NHS has done, treated more cancer patients than ever before all through lockdown, how services have kept going, more GP appointments available than ever before, how Level 4 means that NHSE is in charge and everyone across the country will have access to care piffle waffle
I won’t be watching

YoniAndGuy · 05/11/2020 14:24

Fuck that, and fuck him.

Total buffoon.

Summerstorms · 05/11/2020 14:25

Doesn't the extension of furlough suggest more lockdowns? (i am a bit confused about this?
