Thought I'd make a thread for those of us who just tested positive within the last week to help each other through our covid journeys Halloween Smile

@KTD27

Has anyone struggled with dizziness or nausea after ‘recovering’ my DH and I are now 28 days post positive test (about 30 odd since symptoms) we were both ‘better’ though easily tired and yesterday and today he’s come over really dizzy and felt ‘drunk / hungover’ I wondered if it was a common post covid thing.

Yes. I tested positive a couple of months ago and since then I keep having dizzy spells, lightheaded and feeling disoriented. Gp said post-covid.

EmLJC20 · 15/12/2020 23:40

Myself and DH tested positive today. I am ok, feel like I have a cold and smell and taste gone. He isn’t doing so well, high temp and cough. My anxiety is through the roof with thoughts that something is going to happen to him. I feel so scared.

I hope everyone is coping ok x

AstridAv · 15/12/2020 23:49

I hope everyone is feeling okay. Day 6 today and its been a tough one. First day of spiking a temperature, chest pain has been horrendous, lost my smell and taste. So frustrating may as well eat cardboard to save wasting good food.

Chaotic45 · 16/12/2020 05:57

My husband tested positive via two lateral flow tests yesterday evening. He's booked in for 'proper' test this morning.

I tested negative via lateral flow.

DH is holed up in our bedroom and we've calculated (with help from MN) that we all need to isolate until Boxing Day.

It's tricky timing as I'm mindful people are busy over Christmas, GP will close and shops are already struggling with deliveries but we may need some help with food and pet food.

DH feels a bit like he's getting flu. I am frightened for him and hate that I can't hug him or be with him.

Is there anything I should get delivered or prepare? The house is upside down and our spare room is hidden beneath Christmas presents, clean washing and junk so my first job is to clear it so I can sleep there rather than the sofa.

KTD27 · 16/12/2020 07:21

@Chaotic45 paracetamol and ibuprofen useful to have. Lemsip really soothed me. Make sure you (he) keeps fluids up and that you’re on VitD. A multivitamin wouldn’t be a bad idea either.
The track and trace people who you’ll get to know will ask if you need any support with anything so have a think about what you need. Obviously if you have friends or people around to help I’m sure they would. Our village was amazing when we caught it and we got deliveries of all sorts. Bread and milk were the most regular things!
Lots of rest for him and you if you feel rotten. Ventilation in his room if you need to go in etc but the t&t doc said to assume that we would all catch it when my DS tested positive and he was absolutely right.

KTD27 · 16/12/2020 07:21

@Cluckadoodledoo75 oh my goodness I’m so sorry to hear you’ve been so poorly. I hope you make a swift recovery!

Chaotic45 · 16/12/2020 07:35

@KTD27 thank you. I'll try to get those items sorted today.

I hate that he's holed up in our room alone. I can tell he's anxious.

I know there's a strong chance that I will catch it but it still seems sensible to try not to.

I wish it wasn't Christmas as it's so much harder to get things and food delivered atm.

wordinmyheart · 16/12/2020 10:07

Hi,
I was offered a test on Friday as my child was having one and tested positive despite not having any symptoms. I'm now on day 6 since then and have a scratchy throat. dry cough, blocked nose and now phlegmy cough with achy back and chest tightness / mild breathlessness. Hope you all manage to get the better of this bugger,

Chaotic45 · 16/12/2020 10:09

@wordinmyheart sorry to hear you feel so unwell. It scares me TBH not knowing what is round the corner. I feel I need to scurry around getting the house straight and things in place incase I'm incapacitated.

SmileMy thoughts exactly - I was sorting washing / online shop this morning. Hope for the best is all we can do..

LavenderBee · 16/12/2020 11:40

@KTD27
I got COvid about amonth ago too... taking ages to recover. Definitely get the hungover feeling, nausea and dizziness a lot... especially if ‘overdo ‘ it such as putting washing away 😂🙄
I was talking to my son yesterday and realised I was finding it much harder, recently, to concentrate for fairly short period of time. So very strange.
Interesting what many say about nose pain/between eyes... we all had that just as our sense of smell and taste was going. Is about 50 per cent back now.

KTD27 · 16/12/2020 12:44

@BenidormLife @LavenderBee he’s just been to the doc and they said it’s likely long covid. Eugh. It just never stops does it

AstridAv · 16/12/2020 14:17

Hopeful today. My fever has broken and I can move my eyeballs without it hurting. Day 7 today

starrynight19 · 16/12/2020 19:01

Just over three weeks since I got my positive. Now suffering with conjunctivitis and laryngitis. And still this horrid cough. It’s so draining. Back in work though now.

Towards the end of my covid. I felt like I was on a boat rocking and spinning, making me feel sick!
BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 17/12/2020 09:09

Funny I have dizziness and nausea a week before I tested positive. I actually tested negative with those symptoms but then went on to catch it anyway from DH.

Such a weird night for me last night - I'd felt a bit achey and fluey in the day, theb woke at 3am absoloutley saturated in cold sweat. I could have wrung out my t-shirt. Never ever had that with any prior illnesses.

eastegg · 17/12/2020 19:06

Feeling really low this evening. On day 10 , so far mild symptoms of cough and loss of taste/ general weird feeling in mouth. This afternoon I've felt much more decidedly nauseous and I feel so depressed with it. Scared of the unpredictability. I'm supposed to be going back to work tomorrow . I'll make a decision based on how I feel in the morning.

Is it normal to get nausea like this. Does it mean I'm going to get worse at day 10? Oh this is so horrible and unnerving

AstridAv · 19/12/2020 12:10

Hi everyone. How are we all?
I am on day 10 today and I'm had the wirdest combination of symptoms. Constant vomitting on day 8 with a migraine.
I am wondering is it likely to get worse at this point?
Also, I've had quite a lot of chest pain.. is this normal or something anyone else has experienced?

Redheadedscarecrow · 20/12/2020 13:52

Hi Astrid. Sorry you still feel rough. Its hard to say what will happen but you are in the latter stages now so I would imagine it shouldn't get much worse. I'm on day 10 today and I still have the tickly cough a d tickly lungs along with tireness and loss of smell and taste. Try to just take it one day at a time and expect the best. When anxiety hits it makes you feel 10 times worse.

LeFluffyPants · 20/12/2020 17:08

Hi everyone. I’m so sorry lots of you have been unwell and am sending my best healing wishes.

I’m jumping the gun slightly here but really have no doubt what my result will be. Household member tested positive a few days ago and I now have a temperature - super unusual for me. Both my little ones are coughing too. The person with covid coughed right in my face while they were at their most contagious too so I really didn’t think I’d get away with it.

I was so very scared of getting this thing as I have health anxiety and I’m really struggling. Statistically I am low risk - 38, female, no health conditions - but my anxiety likes to tell me I’ll be the 1 in 5000 or whatever it is.

So I’m just here to connect, hand hold, offer support and hopefully get better alongside you all.

Marmozet · 20/12/2020 17:12

Anyone got really aching calf's, underneath biceps and aching shoulders? Feel like I've done strenuous exercise?

Samii89 · 20/12/2020 18:57

Yes! @Marmozet, My calves were aching just a few days ago, so weird. Im on day 10 today, really hope it starts to lift soon. I slept for 11 hours last night and needed a nap 3 hours after waking this morning. I also still have the achy, tickly throat and cough.

Marmozet · 20/12/2020 19:55

I'm finding myself hobbling. Hope you feel better soon!
KTD27 · 20/12/2020 20:09

Oh my goodness the aching calves! I kept getting the most insane cramps there too. Gosh it’s so weird this thinh

LeFluffyPants · 21/12/2020 09:04

Hey everyone, how are you feeling today?

I’m on day 2, possibly 3 of symptoms and I feel shocking. Nausea, chills, temperature, shaky feeling like I’m vibrating?! Heart palpitations, dizziness.

Honestly, I’m so scared about how much worse this will get. Does it get worse and worse? Has anyone just stayed the same as they were in the first few days? Sorry, I know it’s different for everyone. Just freaking out a bit over here.

On the plus side my DH and two kids only have the tiniest mild symptoms, so far anyway, and theirs started a while before mine. Xx
