That is shockingly bad @RevIMJolly.
I am certain that ours will be negative. DH was negative and all our coughs have since receded.
A big part of me is tempted to say to hell with it and get on with our lives. Been stuck inside with a 4yo and a 2yo for pretty much the whole half term. But I know we should wait for a result. I’m now thinking of booking private tests. There is a clinic practically at the top of our road who can do it and turn it around in 24 hours.
If we had to isolate for 10 days, my daughter would miss 3 days of school and my son another week of his nursery sessions. So I think I’d rather try and get another test at this stage.
I’m finding this tough enough and despite the massive inconvenience, it is half term, so no missing of school and DH and I are not suffering financially from having to isolate. Can’t imagine what it would be like for people in other circumstances.
Just can’t believe, like you said, that they’re basically just saying that people should stay home to be safe/just in case. Totally unsustainable. No point in having a testing regime at all is there. This is what they advised people to do in March.
If my DD is positive, all her classmates will have missed their isolation period by the time we find out. What’s the actual point of it all then?
