@NatashaAlianovaRomanova unfortunately our work have overruled that so our normal carry forward rules apply. I can kind of see why tbh.

I'm still interested if my reading is correct if anyone has any thoughts - technically I can go abroad, but am not meant to leave my area within Scotland?

NatashaAlianovaRomanova · 28/10/2020 21:10

@rookiemere I agree with you that it isn't saying you can't go abroad but I'd fly from Glasgow or Edinburgh so the problem would be travelling from my (most likely) level 2 area into a (most likely) level 3 area to get an airport.

Again guidance with loopholes Hmm

Ecosse · 28/10/2020 22:57

@rookiemere

There are no travel restrictions in place- except possible for tier 4 areas.

The government have specifically said that pre-booker holidays don’t need to be cancelled so I think you’re free to go.

Horehound · 28/10/2020 23:00

Where about in Angus @soundsfishie? I'm near glamis!

rookiemere · 29/10/2020 07:27

Thanks @Ecosse, nothing prebooked but thinking it would be nice to go somewhere for a couple of days.

Cottage in UK probably a less risky bet than going abroad, but not confirming anything until the day before. I don't want to go somewhere I'm not welcome even though the Edinburgh city numbers are low, I worry if I go in Scotland I'll be sniffed at.

Mrsjayy · 29/10/2020 09:06

I don't think you would be noticed if you came on holiday although nothing will be open so your days out might be to Morrisons for your essentials!

BumDiggyDiggyDiggyBumDiggyBum · 29/10/2020 11:01

What time is her daily briefing normally at, is that when we’ll find out our tiers?

Mrsjayy · 29/10/2020 11:11

Its usually about 12 to 12.30 its FM questions today so I would imagine its the big reveal .

Plump82 · 29/10/2020 11:38

Just read its from 1220 today. Im so nervous!

dementedpixie · 29/10/2020 12:40

Woohoo Level 3 for Lanarkshire, thank goodness

Mrsjayy · 29/10/2020 12:57

We are level 3 which isn't any different, what a relief for Lanarkshire it was teetering wasn't it?

Plump82 · 29/10/2020 13:00

It really was teetering. Im glad its Tier 3 and just hope it remains that way.

OP posts:
Mrsjayy · 29/10/2020 13:06

So can we travel within the tier?

BumDiggyDiggyDiggyBumDiggyBum · 29/10/2020 13:08

Glad we just made it! Hope the numbers keep going in the right direction 🙌🏻

Plump82 · 29/10/2020 13:42

It says no non essential travel for Tier 3. So im assuming work, caring for others and that's more or less it?

emmathedilemma · 29/10/2020 13:52

It feels like a political cop out not using tier 4 to me, especially when you look at the difference in areas in tier 3. At least since the additional measures in the central belt were introduced numbers in the east have gone down whereas the west seems to still be going up!
Anyway, I'm looking forward to going to the pub for a diet coke at 4pm Hmm

Plump82 · 29/10/2020 14:10

Yes i do think she's been pressurised into putting us in Tier 3. Wouldn't be suprised if its just for the week.

OP posts:
Mrsjayy · 29/10/2020 14:16

Tier 4 is definitely the " naughty" step and if anywhere goes into it well it wil be not only have you let yourselfs down but... Hmm

rookiemere · 29/10/2020 14:28

So if I'm in Edinburgh city what are the official boundaries of where I could go on holiday and be within the rules ? Is it all of Lothian, Edinburgh city or some variation thereof.
Asking for a friend obviously Wink?

RoseDog · 29/10/2020 14:34

I'm in Dundee so tier 3 and ds plays football for a team in tier 2 so he can't train and play...he might be delighted by this Hmm

emmathedilemma · 29/10/2020 14:42

@rookiemere it seems to have changed from health board areas which would have been all of the Lothians to Local Authority areas i.e. City of Edinburgh, which basically leaves you trapped within the bypass!

emmathedilemma · 29/10/2020 14:43

Although holidays seem to fall under different "rules" to daily travel......

dementedpixie · 29/10/2020 14:52

They're updating the pages relating to levels so hopefully they don't change it all to be worse than it was

Plump82 · 29/10/2020 15:10
