Anyone NOT know someone whose had it?

I've obviously heard stories of someone who knows someone whose tested positive but I don't know anyone personally whose had it and no cases so far in either the primary school or the secondary school my DC attend.

I'm fully expecting this to change any day now with the cases going up but just wondered how many others don't know of any cases close to them.

I'm in the SW in case anyone's interested.

I'm in London and only know one person who's had it and he only found out because he works for the NHS and got antibody test. He knows loads of people who've had it though both through work and personality including a family member who was hospitalised with it.

HilaryBriss · 15/10/2020 15:53

I'm in North Staffordshire and don't know anyone who has had it.

SpringSunshineandTulips · 15/10/2020 15:55

I’m in the south east and don’t know anyone who’s had it either. I’d like it to stay that way but not sure it will.

letmepeeinpeace · 15/10/2020 15:56

I'm North Staffs to. I know people who know people that have had it. I knew someone who died of it during the first peak

NeverSurrender · 15/10/2020 15:56

I don't know anyone who's had it

Sunshinegirl82 · 15/10/2020 15:58

SE don't know anyone who's had it officially. I know a lot of people who were ill in February/March with something that might or might not have been covid!

pastandpresent · 15/10/2020 15:59

Me too. There are no cases in my area and surrounding areas. I hope it stays this way.

Legoandloldolls · 15/10/2020 16:00

I dont anyone who is had it. Dh works in a school and he doesnt know anyone who's had a positive test either. We both know people who think they have had it, but not confirmed so possibly not covid. I think by Christmas that might change

TweeterandtheMonkeyman · 15/10/2020 16:00

Yes I personally know 8 people who have had/ currently have it (confirmed) . Only 1 during the first wave - a neighbour who works in the NHS.

Same here. In the SE and loads of people ill after February half term. DC’s school was decimated with some days only 8 out of 30 in a class. 🤷🏻‍♀️
WankPuffins · 15/10/2020 16:02

No one at all. Dh works in for a large department in a London local authority, thank fully they and all their families haven’t been affected either.

TweeterandtheMonkeyman · 15/10/2020 16:02

All cases connected to a school (3 different schools) . All in the NW .

Qasd · 15/10/2020 16:02

It’s difficult because if the no testing rule early on. I don’t know anyone who has had a positive test, I do know people who self isolated with symptoms who may or may not have had it (including one who tested negative for antibodies and is therefore now assuming they didn’t have it after all)

LaVitaPuoEsserePiuBella · 15/10/2020 16:05

I don't know anyone - in the south east

WankPuffins · 15/10/2020 16:06

I must say though - I’m sure I had it at the the end of dec while working in the hospital that became the London hotspot. So many people were down with the continuous cough, burning lungs, horrendous chest pain - most were just diagnosed with pneumonia and pleurisy (as was I) and were sent away with antibiotics and a shrug when they did fuck all after weeks on end.

HowFastIsTooFast · 15/10/2020 16:06

I don't know anyone personally who's had it.

Stroller15 · 15/10/2020 16:09

I don't know anyone who's had it. I do think my dh had it in Dec too. He had a terrible fever and cough that lasted for weeks. Usually a bad flu or cold would be a week or 10 days at the most. At the time we thought nothing about it, even travelled long haul on a plane, how strange does that life now seem?

munchbunch12 · 15/10/2020 16:13

I'm in Birmingham and don't know anyone who has had it.

Givingupandgivingin · 15/10/2020 16:13

Gosh I know loads, but maybe that’s because I have friends who work in healthcare.
On top of those - dh’s bil and sister have had it. My mum’s next door neighbour. Two friends have grandparents who have had it. Two of the children in dd’s class (before they went back in September).

LuckyAmy1986 · 15/10/2020 16:15

I don't know anyone who has, officially. Although a lot of people went down with something that sounds very much like it back in Feb! My family included.

wishywashywoowoo70 · 15/10/2020 16:16

Nope no one in my circle at all.

Heard of someone who knows someone but that's it.

SW Wales

Givingupandgivingin · 15/10/2020 16:16

Oh and my friend currently has both her children - at different universities - who have just been confirmed as positive.

Wishingforanotherlife · 15/10/2020 16:16

Only my niece and nephew. Students. Have heard of others indirectly. Most of my pals are in the NHS but none have had it as far as I’m aware

LostIntrovert · 15/10/2020 16:17

I'm in EA and don't know anyone who has had a positive diagnosis

PlateTectonics · 15/10/2020 16:20

Until yesterday I would have said I didn’t know anyone personally (friend of a friend, that sort of thing) but as of last night I do. I’m in Hertfordshire.
