@BG2015

Green plum let's hope that's the case and they all come back negative.

Thank you! 2nd was negative too Smile

@Frazzled2207 I'm on the 5th Sad
I'm not sure I got much of a say when they switched it from the end of the month.

Agree on the mass unblinding seeming odd (but welcome!!), unless the results are so definitive and they've achieved all of their goals for the trial in terms of confirmed cases.

Frazzled2207 · 28/01/2021 10:48

sorry my mistake @andadietcoke I am also on 5th

It has been great to catch up with this thread. My ds tested positive at the end of December. He was asymptomatic but his girlfriend had recently tested positive, as had a load of their school mates so we got him a private test. Anyway, I felt completely fine during our isolation period and afterwards. DH had one night of night sweats but nothing else so didn't get tested. My dd had a sore throat at one point and my other ds had a headache, but nothing worth testing for and as we were already all isolating I didn't bother getting them tested.

My 4th appointment is on the 11th, I will be interested to find out what they say about the trial. I really hope Novavax is another successful vaccine, the more the merrier!!

Boris just tweeted this ;

“ Good news that the @Novavax vaccine has proved effective in UK trials. Thank you to all the volunteers who made these results possible.

Our medicines regulator will now assess the vaccine, which will be made in Teesside. If approved, we have 60m doses on order.”

MrsHamlet · 28/01/2021 21:26

I don't need Boris to thank me. But well done us.

mollypuss1 · 28/01/2021 21:29

Thank you so much to all of you who have been part of the trial.
You are a part of history! You have made my family's and many more future a little less scarier. As a mother of 3 little girls who have been scared as their dad is CEV I give you my sincerest gratitude.

1 step closer you have brought me to giving my mum a cuddle, 1 step closer you have brought us to being able to have a family day out whilst not being scared that 1 wrong decision/move could potentially destroy our family.

You are brave and amazing people! Congratulations and thank you!

MrsHamlet · 28/01/2021 21:48

@Idroppedthescrewinthetuna thank you. I didn't think I was being brave until people started freaking out that I was in a trial 😂

You are totally welcome! This is exactly why we did it and it's so good to hear it worked. xx

@MrsHamlet I am living the shielding as a family life. Since March I have been into the office for 1 day and go on walks close to home very early in the morning. Children have gone to school but that is it. Believe me when I say, selfishly but not ashamed to admit my cowardliness (it shows how amazing you are) I would never volunteer for it! No matter how much I need some normality, kids back to sch properly and my family to feel less worried, I still wouldn't do it!
You Mrs Hamlet are very brave! Well done! ThanksThanksThanks

Frazzled2207 · 28/01/2021 21:57

I'm a bit annoyed now as just went to tell my husband and he was really nonchalant and like 'oh that's good then'.
I'm f*ing EXSTATIC
@Idroppedthescrewinthetuna
honestly it's a pleasure. I was just so pleased to have been able to do something helpful. My more recent efforts to help with the vaccination programme practically (as a volunteer) have so far gone absolutely nowhere
