@Woventabby

Glad you feel better!
Thank you 😁

Third appointment today, 35 days later.

Went smoothly, 45 minutes from start to finish. Brief time with the Dr, heart and lungs listened to, glands in neck/arm pit felt, she wasn't interested in my mild side effects at all.

Blood taken and booked in for mid Feb for next appointment.

I was given a leaflet in light of today's vaccine announcement and unblinding yourself if you're offered a spot.

I discovered today that I know a real life person also in the trial!

Me too! The lady across the road!
MrsHamlet · 02/12/2020 21:33

Not the same person then 🤣

I had my second injection on Friday. I have a slight swelling on my arm, it is quite tender to touch, and I’ve woken up now feeling as though I’ve got a chill, although I felt ok yesterday (not quite feeling 100%, but I can’t work out if that’s just because I’m coming to the end of the working year and am very tired!).

MrsHamlet · 08/12/2020 12:57

Off to Chorley this afternoon for round two...

andadietcoke · 08/12/2020 13:48

Just had a call to follow up on my lack of pg test. They're posting one out to me!!!

ramblingsonthego · 08/12/2020 13:59

Had my 2nd vaccine today. Booked in for day 35 on the 23rd December! No immediate side effects this time after having the chills and shivering last time.

MrsHamlet · 08/12/2020 17:50

I'm booked in on the 21st. Blood pressure took a tumble this time, and I feel most peculiar.

Daftapath · 08/12/2020 18:50

@MrsHamlet are you feeling ok now?

I had my third visit today. Very quick, just bloods. They said that the first results should be published end of Feb/ early March.

When I said that the first injection site had been painful after the second injection, the consultant was bamboozled and said that she had no answer to that or explanation as to why it would happen! I didn't mention that I knew of others who had experienced the same thing.

Back in Feb for more bloods.

MrsHamlet · 08/12/2020 19:07

I think so. Just feel heavy on my chest and my arm is sore. For some reason they'd misreported which arm they used last time so they've used the same one again.

Daftapath · 08/12/2020 19:25

And did they not listen to you when you said they were using the same arm?

The heaviness took a couple of days to settle for me the second time

MrsHamlet · 08/12/2020 19:32

Nope. Because it was written down so it must be correct. She was adamant that I was wrong - but it's my arm so I know!!! I assume it makes no difference... if the data is flawed, we'll know why!

Daftapath · 08/12/2020 19:36

@MrsHamlet Grin

pennee · 08/12/2020 20:11

Mine ached in the site of the first injection after the second too!

andadietcoke · 08/12/2020 21:10

@MrsHamlet my BP went down quite a lot too but I have hypertension so low for me is normal for everyone else!!

MrsHamlet · 09/12/2020 09:35

Moths? And tree bark?! Wow!

ramblingsonthego · 09/12/2020 09:42

BBC's Hospital (Series 6, Episode 4) has brief footage on Novavax vaccine trial, though it doesn't say Novavax. Eagle-eyed people might notice a greenish coloured syringe. Grin

(I didn't realise that clinical trials on treatments are also randomly allocated by computer.)

The computer failed when my husband went and his 2 hour first appointment ended up being 4.5 hours long until the computer went back online in America and they could select which vaccine he got.
Vargas · 09/12/2020 11:37

I had my third appointment yesterday, in and out in 20 minutes. The doc was very interested in my symptoms after the second dose and carefully noted everything down.

Great article, thanks for the link @ramblingsonthego

CardinalCat · 10/12/2020 08:09

I had my third appointment a couple of weeks ago and now twiddling thumbs until check up at the start of Feb. I'm still convinced I'm in the control group. As a healthy 40-something I don't expect to be offered a vaccine until the summer at the earliest (I just don't see how they'll get though the priority list before then, from the limited pfizer stocks they have- which come with their own logistical limitations) and from the Oxford vaccine which still hasn't been approved, so not even in circulation yet. I really hope novavax get enough data to go for regulatory approval before lots of people on the trial are offered another vaccine (and therefore fall out of the trial group.) Does anyone else check the news regularly for updates? It looks like it could be Feb before there's preliminary data available. It must be such an anxious wait for those involved with the company.

CardinalCat · 10/12/2020 08:12

Vargas, my doctor didn't ask me if I'd had any symptoms or reactions (I wonder if they have access to the patient data app I was filling in online so could see for themselves that I had no reactions to report) and I felt it was quite hurried and perfunctory (quick check of breathing and my glands and then the nurse drew blood and sent me out the door!) I was in a bit of a rush to get to work so it suited my fine that way- but it was certainly far from thorough!
