Haway if you're in Sunderland, of course Smile

That is amazing!

I'm not a fan of bananas at all (other than a smoothie - something about the texture that I just can't get away with) but both DP and DS usually have one with their breakfast so I was very confused when they suddenly became spicy!

PickAChew · 21/12/2020 19:29

They can be a bit acidic on a mouth ulcer or sore throat?

Someaddedsugar · 21/12/2020 20:12

That might be it as he said his teeth were hurting today. I swear his back teeth wait until we have time off as a family to then decide to come through!

On a total side note a massive thank you to everyone on here for these threads! It's been so nice to have a thread that's local, especially in such a weird time!

TheSilveryPussycat · 21/12/2020 20:20

I used to vary as to whether I liked bananas, but can't stand them now. Perhaps the occasional banana, just at the right ripeness, mashed up with cream.

Love a tuna and cucumber sandwich (with mayo I assume?), but no no no to tuna and sweetcorn.

I have printed out the 21 bus timetable to help with stalking the Christmas Angel, but haven't actually searched today.

It seemed to take hours to wrap and pack 2 parcels. Then to PO to just catch the recommended last day of posting.

MissEWeatherwax · 21/12/2020 20:40

Unfortunately, no. She couldn’t be bothered to queue ( can’t get the staff). Think my chance has gone, because I will be going after 10pm on Wednesday night. Slightly worried there will be nothing left, but only going for treats etc.
Definitely going to still try and see Santa bus, on Christmas Eve. Good luck for anyone, trying to see.
Next thread will have mention ‘hope not going into tier 4 and catching the Christmas angel bus.

NoseringGirl · 22/12/2020 10:56

We managed to see the Santa bus when it came through our estate the other night. It was running an hour late but the atmosphere out on the street was fantastic. The first time it's felt properly like Christmas for me this year!

Someaddedsugar · 22/12/2020 11:59

Just got a negative test result through 🙌🏻. Super speedy result and I feel like Christmas isn't ruined now! Even more so as nursery have just confirmed our isolation ends on Christmas Eve as the case concerned was a postal test which is why the positive result took as long as it did to come through!

I wish it would come to our estate - how lovely for everyone!

Nice one, @Someaddedsugar

Just polishing off some lunch before braving the arnison centre. I definitely would not have chosen this time of day if there had been any other slots when I booked!

I hope it's not too bad for you! Hopefully people will have been and gone by the time you get there!
PickAChew · 22/12/2020 12:45

It's the mcd's queue I'm wary of. Will probably have to walk my trolley round to avoid it.

Someaddedsugar · 22/12/2020 14:13

I wish they'd do something about the bloody queue there - it just causes a complete nightmare for people who want to be in and out. The other night they had security out guiding the traffic past the queue! Crazy!

PickAChew · 22/12/2020 14:21

No festive colins in markses. Just normal ones.

I saw someone with some Percy pig tarts, though.

PickAChew · 22/12/2020 14:24

And the queue for the drive through was dreadful when I arrived but has died down enough for me not to be arsed to walk round with a heavy trolley. There's lots of free spaces here but the mercia car park was full.

Someaddedsugar · 22/12/2020 14:52

I wonder if more people park at the Mercia end as it's quicker to drive in and out (and avoids the queue and the buses)?

Shame about the Christmas Colin though. Were there many queues to the shops themselves @PickAChew?

PickAChew · 22/12/2020 15:26

Bit of a queue for asda, long queue for markses that continued inside. Didn't pass sainsburys and couldn't see the entrance to Smyths. The leisure centre car park was quite full.

gingercat02 · 22/12/2020 17:22

DS loves the Percy-mas pies from Marksies

TheSilveryPussycat · 22/12/2020 18:21

I always come in and out at the Mercia end. I park up that end and do Sainsbury's then move to the further car park if I want to go to M and S. I exit by re-entering the Sainsbury's carpark and driving through it to the Mercia end.

Very late wrapping and posting of 2 presents. Haven't gone Angel hunting yet. (Angel hunting is rather an odd concept if the angel isn't a bus.)

Someaddedsugar · 22/12/2020 18:30

I don't know why but I always like to park at the back of the Sainsbury's bit of the car park where the pedestrian exit to Lidl is via the zebra crossing.

I agree driving out through the Mercia exit is a lot easier though, although DPIL rang earlier and said that there were wardens telling people not to queue on the road to MacDonalds at 4.30 today - apparently they were just waving people forward to stop them blocking the road.

A Percy-mas pie sounds so cute - M&S do make the best Christmas treats don't they!

MissEWeatherwax · 22/12/2020 19:14

Went to Arnison tonight around 5.30pm. To drop DD off to click and collect something. She said queue for M&S still long. I just parked in Abbey and waited for her.
At least was a lovely crisp bright day today. I just looked longingly out of the window Sad
Pleased you got a negative result

It was a lovely day, today. Helped my mood a little as I (admittedly) had a right cob on, this morning.

Someaddedsugar · 22/12/2020 19:59

Thanks @MissEWeatherwax - brightened my mood a lot this morning!

It has been nice hasn't it - I hope it continues! We've been playing in the garden this afternoon as I needed DS to burn off some energy and it was just lovely that it was bright and sunny for a change!

Someaddedsugar · 22/12/2020 20:04

I’ve made a new thread here as there aren’t many posts left on this one (@MissEWeatherwax I pinched your title suggestion!).

@PennyDreadfuI hope you’re ok and if you read this I hope you don’t mind me starting another thread. They’ve been fab in all of the chaos so hope they continue!
