@PickAChew I'll be calling at Greggs at Fram on Monday after nursery drop off if I can get you one and drop off?

I posted a link to the Miniature you were looking for on the Christmas thread. They have the stocking too (and postage is £3.95)

Just in case you miss the post![/quote]
Thank you! Ordering now Smile! DS will be over the moon!

Ooh, thank you. That will break the monotony for him. I've pmed you (since I also have pm contact disabled after some unwelcome ones)

Pickachew, my DH is a volunteer for the vaccine and has to do weekly tests by mail. The first one came back on the Wednesday morning after he had posted it on Monday night, we still haven't received a response from last Monday. It doesn't matter for him as we're sure he hasn't got it, and he'll do another one tomorrow anyway. You have to post them off in a priority postbox, by the way, not just any one.

TheSilveryPussycat · 15/11/2020 12:52

@PickAChew see my earlier post. I can do it daily if you want.

TheSilveryPussycat · 15/11/2020 13:25

Well most days anyway

Aye, we have a priority postbox nearby, thankfully, though I might walk the long way round to loosen my poor hips a bit. I sometimes have to if the traffic is heavy, anyhow, so I can use a crossing.

Sorry - seems rude of me but I completely missed that one. It's a very kind offer and I might just take you up on it if they get positive tests

MissEWeatherwax · 16/11/2020 10:15

What’s a priority postbox? Is it one attached to a post office?
I hope I don’t have to test, because I don’t think I can do the nose. I also hate being tickled.

Ours is just on the High Street. It used to be in front of the Post Office but it’s moved. The Post Office has moved that is. If you google ‘Priority postboxes’ it should tell you where your nearest one is.
MissEWeatherwax · 16/11/2020 11:04

Thanks, found mine. Not sure what people who can’t drive would do. Thought you weren’t allowed to go out with symptoms.

I thought the same! Our nearest is a 5 minute walk outside a shop - and while I appreciate its only 5 minutes it still doesn't seem right!
MissEWeatherwax · 16/11/2020 11:42

I’m not sure what I thought. Well I do, I thought you booked a pick up and maybe left on your door step. And they picked up with gloves into separate bag. Complicated Blush

Someaddedsugar · 16/11/2020 11:58

DP booked a home test before the summer and a courier came to collect. I remember as I took it outside and for some reason took it upon myself to see it as some kind of throwing competition and literally threw it at the courier in the hope it would land in the box he was holding. Why I didn't just place it in I don't know!

PickAChew · 16/11/2020 13:13

The priority postboxes are the ones that tend to have collection times after 9am. They have stickers on them to let you know. If you can't social distance or walk to one, you can phone to book a courier. I enjoyed my walk the long way around - it's actually easier to avoid other people, that way. There were a few people around the post box, when I arrived, so I felt compelled to dutifully stay across the road and demolish a gym until they moved on😇

I'm not sure if I got much of a sample from Ds2 but we managed a few nose pokes and it's been sent off regardless. He's very loud today. It's going to be a long week. Even Ds1 has closed a door he usually insists has to be open.

Ds1 wants to pass along his thanks for your kindness @Someaddedsugar. Ds2 has been telling everyone which treat is theirs. He bagsied the reindeer! I shall have to buy you coffee when all this crap is over.

Someaddedsugar · 16/11/2020 13:16

@PickAChew Smile (I would have had the reindeer too Grin). Pleased I could help out! X

Shitfuckoh · 16/11/2020 17:19

Well Ds3 has a cold, he had it all last week - no problem.
Ds2 came out of school saying he had a headache. Seemed fine once he'd had a drink and some food.
DS1 came home with a note in his diary saying he felt unwell this afternoon. Felt very cold & sneezing a lot. Then a later note saying he had a little cough too so to keep an eye.

He's been fine since BUT it's made me realise something.
As a non driver, with him at school quite a distance away. How on earth would I collect him & get him home if he was to show symptoms in school? Obviously I couldn't get a bus or taxi! Confused

Someaddedsugar · 16/11/2020 17:45

@Shitfuckoh that's a very good point! I hadn't ever considered that before either... quite a few of the parents at nursery get the bus, as do a couple of the staff - I wonder how they're meant to get home if a cough develops during the day...

Someaddedsugar · 16/11/2020 17:46

@Shitfuckoh I hope your DSs are ok too!

Shitfuckoh · 16/11/2020 18:15

@Someaddedsugar
Youngest is still a bit snotty, but he has been for the last week. The others are fine now thankfully, wouldn't be surprised if Ds3 has spread his cold around though.

Now I'm baffled as to how I'd get him home lol I kind of thought about it before but then school closed & everyone had to be collected, so the transport was running. If it was indiviual then of course that wouldn't happen. It's a bus from here to Durham & then another in to Bishop but of course if he has symptoms he wouldn't be able to get a bus Confused

Shitfuckoh · 17/11/2020 09:22

Well DS2 is fine this morning.
I got a call mid school run letting me know he was on his way back. Apparently there's a positive case in his bubble so he needs to isolate Confused His school already fully closed & only reopened after half term!

Shitfuckoh · 17/11/2020 09:22

Oops that should say DS1 and 2 are fine. Call regarding DS1.

PickAChew · 17/11/2020 10:57

Glad he's feeling OK, @shitfuckoh. There's been a couple of times I've brought Ds2 home on the bus after one of his projectile vomiting then feeling perfectly fine migraine episodes when dh hasn't been able to leave work. Ds1's school was 50 miles away, though, with no public transport, so dh often had to drop everything to collect him - usually when he'd trashed something, rather than illness, though.

PickAChew · 17/11/2020 16:46
