If anyone happens to be driving through Sacriston crossroads towards Witton Gilbert at any point in the near future make sure to keep an eye out for the giant white tiger wall painting - it covers the entire side of a house!

Also, heading the other way from Sacriston crossroads towards Nettlesworth someone has their Christmas light setup in their garden and it looks immense! We'll definitely be taking a drive past that once they're switched on!

PickAChew · 12/11/2020 19:50

Well we'll not be getting to the Range for a while, anyhow, as Ds2 is coughing a bit. He's a bit snotty and shouts a lot do the shouting makes him cough but we've ordered a test kit that we probably won't get anywhere near him with. Probably easier to swab a cat.

TheSilveryPussycat · 12/11/2020 19:58

Thanks for the tip, Someaddedsugar. I'll add it to my list Halloween Smile

MissEWeatherwax · 12/11/2020 21:44

@Someaddedsugar the Christmas decorations going down to Nettlesworth are up all year. I believe the family own Bespoke.
On the local Facebook page they showed who did the mural, but the page has been archived. The one going to Witton.

Someaddedsugar · 13/11/2020 17:46

@MissEWeatherwax I've always wanted to go and have a look in Bespoke but always forget and then remember when I'm passing. When it reopens I'll definitely have to have a look!

MissEWeatherwax · 13/11/2020 19:15

@Someaddedsugar they do amazing peach melba(not healthy). It’s a really nice gift shop and the tea rooms /cafe is lovely. They are a stockists for Frenchic paint. And they are helping with community free meals for vulnerable residents. So when they reopen I am going to show them some support.

Someaddedsugar · 13/11/2020 19:42

Thanks @MissEWeatherwax - I'll definitely be popping in now! Let's hope they can reopen in December!

Shitfuckoh · 14/11/2020 20:38

I hope everyone is well!

@PickAChew
Eeek, Good luck! I can't imagine I'd get any where with testing DS1 Confused

We've been doing tickling games with cotton buds. All bets will be off when I go for the nostril, though!
Shitfuckoh · 14/11/2020 21:19

Good luck, let us know how he manages. Good idea on the tickling game, I'm hoping it's never ever needed but will absolutely be stealing that idea if it is!

Someaddedsugar · 14/11/2020 21:38

How did you get on @PickAChew ?

Has anyone seen @PennyDreadfuI posting recently? I hope she and her family are ok!

Shitfuckoh · 14/11/2020 21:56

No Sad I know it was said she may have name changed but I'm a bit worried now!

Shitfuckoh · 14/11/2020 21:57

I did try to PM her to check all was well but it said she'd chosen not to receive PMs (I didn't know you could do that!)

PickAChew · 14/11/2020 21:58

We can't do the tests until Monday as they arrived just before noon today, @Someaddedsugar. It's going to have been a week by the time we get results.

Hopefully, if we do need to test again, we can get one at the new walk in at Cunty Hall.

I hope she's ok. I tried using the search thing but it only brought up posts from a while ago so no clues there either
Someaddedsugar · 14/11/2020 22:13

@PickAChew a colleague had a home test kit and the turnaround was really quick - I hope yours is the same. Do you need any shopping getting? I'll be in Durham most days next week and can drop off if needed.

Shitfuckoh · 14/11/2020 22:18

@Someaddedsugar

I posted a link to the Miniature you were looking for on the Christmas thread. They have the stocking too (and postage is £3.95)

Just in case you miss the post!

Was that an unfortunate missing 'o' in County Hall? Grin

Thanks but I've been a complete online supermarket tart. Have sainsbury coming on Wednesday and waitrose next Sunday. Already had ocado, yesterday, as soon as ds2's teacher emailed me about his cough. I've had to tell dh off for eating ds1's grapes, mind! I'll probably try a Robinsons order if I can't eke out the fruit and veg. Ds1 may get bored of toast for lunch, mind. Greggs don't do his tuna mayo stottie for delivery.

PickAChew · 14/11/2020 22:41

@shitfuckoh with 2 boys with ehcp I've sent a lot of mail to county hall and once had to reprint a letter with an unfortunate typo so it's sort of stuck. I'll miss it when it's an anonymous business park :o

PickAChew · 14/11/2020 22:44

Of course, boy with the hacking cough is still bouncing around.

Shitfuckoh · 14/11/2020 22:48

Haha after the nightmare I had trying to get hold of someone there to redo parts of DS1s EHCP, I can see where it came from! Grin

Waitrose, I can never get waitrose here! Always says fully booked.

I got lucky by checking on late Friday morning. There were about 3 slots left in the fortnight it currently gives me. Even before the new lockdown I was heading into week 3 before I got a slot.
TheSilveryPussycat · 14/11/2020 23:34

I'm up for delivering Greggs tuna mayo stotties if it would help. Quite fancy one myself now...

IggyAce · 15/11/2020 06:24

Tickling game is a genius idea. When DS needed a test I sent him with DH, I decided since I’d done every vaccination appointment including one horrific nasal flu one he could administer the Covid test.
Both my dcs are now in isolation due to close contact with a confirmed case, fingers crossed they stay symptom free.
